Season passes: the fine print

This seems to have been added to the website recently, so there's not an older version readily available for comparison.

I posted it here since it's more verbose and more recently updated than what's printed on the back of season passes. Some people read the fine print.

I had no problems with my Gold Pass last year, some times we'd leave and come back a couple times a day.

Me and my daughter both upgrade from Gold to Platinum, after some of the things I read here,

I'm kinda concerned.....

I don't understand why it only allows one entry per day. I mean...yeah, I could go in, get a stamp on the way out, give my pass to a buddy, go in with stamp and him go in with the pass, but...(I'm a new passholder, so I'm just going on what KI told us) isn't my photo on the pass?

edit: Wouldn't it actually be easier (or faster, or both) to just show the stamp on reentry, anyway?

KI officially told pass holders to use their cards for reentry last year. It was on the bottom of the LCD screen over the exit lanes. Cedar Point didn't expressly state this as a possibility, although it was confirmed working most of the time. I wish they would just make it official chain-wide as it's a lot more convenient.

Keep in mind that the PDF terms is obviously a generic corporate-crafted document. There is mention of other parks on the regular and gold docs. It's entirely possible it was written by someone who was unaware that using passes for reentry is indeed allowed, at least at Kings Island.

You would expect the policy to be the same at all parks, not just some of them...

Also note that this is listed on the Gold Pass terms, but not on the Platinum Pass terms:

Valleyfair – No re-entry after 7pm is permitted during Halloween Haunt or on select days throughout the season.

Why pay someone to QA/QC every document and web posting when the KIC community does it for free for them on this forum!

Come to think about, what a clever way to test out changes during the off-season. The average park guest probably isn't scouring the KI website now, so test things like dining windows on already purchased passes, etc. and see what our community has to say about it.

Let's face it, most of us are probably quick to point out issues on this forum, but most here probably do not then post issue to the more heavily viewed KI Facebook page. Let us be the testing ground for changes and see our reaction and make modifications as necessary (such as removing the dining window) and save themselves grief from the everyday idiot posting garbage and negative information on the Facebook page! Most are aware of the crazy posts on Facebook and we even have a thread talking about it!

So the last two seasons they have asked pass holders to just rescan their passes for reentry into the park. I'm just thinking out loud but I'm guessing they are tracking this trend of pass holders and if they leave the park at certain times for lunch , etc. to entice people to stay in the park longer to spend more money. Anyone who had the Season pass meal deal was great , and did you spend more time, money (drinks) because of this paid benefit. I know that my family did last year and again this year.

Which is precisely why I still have my hand stamped. I voluntarily offer my free services to as few marketing teams as possible.

Can I ask the $64,000 question here... Just like with the meal plans, consumers jumped to conclusions. However, feedback was given and the park listened and made no changes. Has anyone directly contacted the park to ask for clarification of the policy? Call me Pollyanna, but I am finding that Kings Island/Cedar Fair is being highly receptive to their customers. I am also reading into trepidation based on past experience. That said, please take into consideration management at the highest level has changed and certain operational values are changing as well. I think it is worth going directly to the source, asking the question, and distributing the information given with the group. I get the feeling from my communications with the customer service people they know they need to do their absolute best, may not have done so in the past, and are trying their best to do so going forward. I have to give them kudos for that.
