VekomaRulz
No new ride or slide for Dorney. I wasn't expecting a new coaster but was hoping there would be something new
silver2005
CGA now has an interesting teaser labeled Project SR1. They're set to announce at 11 am Pacific time. I imagine Knott's announcement will be around then as well.
TombRaiderFTW
Regardless of what CGA and Knott's bring to the table, that's a really strong series of additions for 2018. Even more impressive is that literally every park that isn't KI is officially getting something. (And we may still hear something yet!) Just one thing... The RMC at Cedar Point. That name gets a pretty good cringe out of me. Definitely not my style, but the ride itself looks phenomenal. All things considered, it'll be great. I'll just have to call it "Fred" or something, haha.
silver2005
A mild applause is in order for MIA actually adding something. Your move SIX.
MrPKI
If I'm not mistaken Michigan's Adventure expanded Half Pint Paradise this year. Surely it isn't being expanded again...?
silver2005
^Fixed, I forgot how slow MIA is to update their webpage. Retracting mild applause. EDIT: Here's the GCA announcement set up (from their Facebook page)
KIBeast
It says on the CP web site that the 30 seconds of airtime is the most on any coaster.
silver2005
Here's Twisted Timbers' POV.
silver2005
Knott's might be announcing later as well as KI. They have 2018 passes up on their website with no additions mentioned, but then again, Knott's is kinda on their own schedule being open year-round and what not. They don't usually announce in August like most parks do, at least going by memory. With KI, we kinda expect little to nothing, but the rumor mills around Knott's have been speculating something sizable for next season with Boomerang gone. GCA should be coming up shortly. silver2005
Looks like the smaller CF parks are starting this Pre-K pass (as stated under Dorney's entry) where 3-5 year olds get complimentary admission. Valleyfair and WOF are also promoting them. EDIT: CGA's announcement is now starting. SR1 might stand for single rail, so they may be getting something similar to SFFT (yep, RMC Raptor) EDIT2: Knott's is announcing today (found a confirmation on TPR)

silver2005
It's gonna be a while before we know what's up at Knott's. Their announcement is 8 pm Pacific time/11 pm Eastern time.

silver2005
Fun fact- both RMC conversions for CF will be the first of the RMC Iron Horse conversions to make the layout longer than the original. Which means SIX has been cheapening out. 4
bengals fan
both conversations look fantastic. I just hope my old body can take those G forces. I will be 71 when I get to ride them but I WILL ride both.

FoF96"
Wow after watching the Railblazer pov, I'm not sure I could convince myself to go on it. The combination of the single row seats along with the thin single rail give me an unsturdy feeling even in the animation.
SonofBaconator
I'm not trying to be a Coaster Critic, but I thought Twisted Timbers was really weak. Don't get me wrong, I love RMC and I love Kings Dominion, but it seemed really weak as far as RMC's go. Maybe this is just because I saw a lot of povs today of all these new rides coming out and my expectations were really high. I don't want to be that guy but when I saw the pov for this ride, I couldn't stop thinking about how similar it is to Mystic Timbers in some respects. Please don't blast me too bad. silver2005
My only problem with Twisted Timbers is that it tries to do too much in too little of a space later in the layout, similar to my criticism of Storm Chaser.
silver2005
BTW, it's pretty much confirmed that KBF's new ride is a coaster since CF said there'd be 4 coasters and 3 have been announced, and no way is it going to Kings Island. I was pulling for MIA to get Knott's Boomerang...
silver2005
Out of left field, Knott's is getting a Gerstlauer Infinity Coaster called Hangtime, something similar to Smiler at Alton Towers but with a third of the inversions (5). 150 ft, 57 mph, a holding brake at a 60 degree angle, 96 degree drop. Similar trains to Smiler (4 cars, 4 across). Still waiting on renderings as they didn't show them on the live stream via Facebook. Its light aqua blue track (think Invertigo's track) with white supports. EDIT: Here it is. https://www.knotts.com/explore/hangtime
silver2005
I just realized that KI must really be going cheap since CF even convinced Knott's to announce the same time as the rest of the chain. Knott's usually does its own thing and announces kinda separate from the eastern parks. I was pulling for that Boomerang to go to MIA though. Also disappointed Dorney didn't get anything either (more so since I'm going there next season).
malem
^ Or Kings Island didn't want their news buried on Cedar Point's big day.

evy0311
Kings Island announcement was confirmed to be later this year. It should be coming after the end of daily operation (this Sunday). So sometime in the coming weeks/months after that Kings Island has their announcement for the 2018 season. teenageninja
A smaller installment in 2018 leads me to believe something really big in 2019.
Rivertown Rider
With these announcements, Canada's Wonderland further cements itself as the flat ride capital of the chain (and maybe the world). Carowinds additions look very nice and would love to see us eventually get a teacups ride again. The coaster additions all look very nice, I think the CGA coaster will have capacity issues but the other two RMCs look very good. Hangtime looks very fun as well. It will be interesting to see what we get.
