fyrfyter Posted October 9, 2018 Posted October 9, 2018 Is this to upgrade the games or for something else? Electro-mechanical says older style pinball machines. I doubt this is anything to get excited about. I’m guessing they just have a warehouse area filled with older games that need to go. Quote
King Ding Dong Posted October 9, 2018 Posted October 9, 2018 It sucks when equipment reaches the end of its service life. 2 Quote
Shaggy Posted October 9, 2018 Posted October 9, 2018 If I could rewind time, I'd go back to the 1980's/early 1990's when Kings Island used to hold annual auctions. So much KI history was basically given away back then - the original signage, rides/parts, character props etc etc were literally sold for mere pennies on the dollar. At one particular auction, virtually every Smurf animated character was purchased for less than $1000 by an individual that displayed them in his yard at Christmas for years. 2 Quote
Dane Posted October 9, 2018 Posted October 9, 2018 EM machines are alittle older then why I like to deal with typically but definitely gonna take a look. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
CoastersRZ Posted October 9, 2018 Posted October 9, 2018 And I wonder where some of that stuff that KI sold is at now. I know some of it has ended up at Jungle Jims. Quote
txdrummer Posted October 9, 2018 Posted October 9, 2018 Sounds like they might be clearing out the Arcade for future use. 1 Quote

The fact that Cedar Point owns these games is more of an oddity than you might think. Most places lease their games - including Kings Island. My guess is that they are transitioning into a relationship like that. You’ll likely see newer, more modern games in the arcade in the next year. Quote
King Ding Dong Posted October 10, 2018 Posted October 10, 2018 Possibly part of a move to game cards next year like KI has. Quote
JubJester Posted October 10, 2018 Posted October 10, 2018 Tony Clark just tweeted about the arcade games for sale: He replied to someone's response stating that it's just games that are out of order. Quote
TheRickster Posted October 11, 2018 Posted October 11, 2018 There is a game there I'd really like to have... Any info on where you go this Ryan so I could share with some interested parties? Quote
