rlentless
I have watched several videos and read many reviews and thought it would interesting to see what everyone thought were the most painful roller coasters by manufacturer. I admit I have not rode all these rides. So mostly by hearsay for me. What do you think of this list? Arrow Dynamics - Desparado @ Buffalo Bills Resort/Casino B&M - Scream @ Six Flags Magic Mountain CCI - The Legend @ Holiday World Dinn - Predator @ Six Flags Darien Lake GCI - Roar @ Six Flags America Gerstlauer - TMNT Shellraiser @ Nickelodeon Universe - American Dream Meadowlands Intamin - Skyrush @ Hershey Park - due to the lapbar Mack - Coast Rider @ Kott's Berry Farm - due to shin guards Maurer - Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit @ Universal Studios Premier Rides - Sky Rocket II models in Sea World chains - due to Neck comfort restraints PTC - Great American Scream Machine @ Six Flags Over Georgia RMC - Outlaw Run @ Silver Dollar City S&S - El Loco @ Adventuredome Schwarzkopf - New Revolution w/ overhead restraints @ Six Flags Magic Mountain Skyline - Harley Quinn Crazy Coaster @ Six Flags Discovery Kingdom The Gravity Group - Mine Blower @ Fun Spot America TOGO - The Big Apple @ NewYork-NewYork Hotel/Casino Vekoma - T3 @ KEntucky Kingdom Zamperla - Time Warp @ Canada's Wonderland
SnakePlissken
The Legend is not rough at all but if you want a rough CCI go to Mount Olympus.
ThrillKingsFitzy
If we are counting The Beast as a dinn, that would be my pick
Rivertown Rider
Flight Deck at Canada's Wonderland is worse than T3.
ThrillKingsFitzy
Worst vekoma coaster I've ridden is Roller Skater. Roller Skater is a rough ride but its for families, what do you expect? That also tells you how measly my coaster count is . Worst Zamperla I've ridden is Southern Express at OWA, but that is also a kiddie coaster. No, I don't think Rollin' Thunder is bad, it is in my top 5.

It used to give me bruises but now, even when riding in the very back, it barely shakes at all. I still think it needs a re-track, but I'm also nervous about a retrack. A retrack might take away the rides rumble. As for the most painful B&M I think we have it. Banshee's vest restraints plus its rattle has made it become far more painful than any of the head bangers. Yeah I'm not on that train of the most painful being Banshee. I'm only 5 foot 7 inches and I'm skinny. I have never had any problems with really any roughness on any coaster besides Beast. Have you not ridden the Raptor at CP? Those pull-down hard (slightly padded)restrains are down-right insufferable compared to the vest restraints. For me, any ride with restraints near my head where it can bang into them is a no-go.
TombRaiderFTW
And I would submit that if Raptor is bad, then Alpengeist is even worse. It's the only B&M I begrudgingly ride, and that's if I'm with someone for their first BGW visit and they want to ride it. Apart from that, it's a hard pass. SnakePlissken
Only the end of Raptor has got bad but I'm sure it won't be long before the rest of it is too. Afterburn is still smooth with the same restraints but I still prefer the vest restraints like Banshee has.
DiamondBeast
@Maddog I have ridden Raptor. I don't find it near as rough as other B&Ms like Rougarou. For me personally, Banshee's vest restraints grab and tug at my skin. It's pretty painful. But, their the only ride with vest restraints I've found painful. I love the restraints on Val Raven and such
silver2005
B&M for me is Mantis when it was still a stand up. Rougarou mostly improved that from my experiences and is one of my favorite steel coasters now. I always rode Vortex in the very front or back because anywhere in the middle that wasn't 5-1 or back was pretty rough. Son of Beast for anything wooden (and ever) by a mile, particularly post 2007 'refurb'. Even as bad as Mean Streak could be, it had some decent moments here and there. The roughest steel coaster I've been on was Viper at SFGAdv. A Togo sit down looping coaster which boasted the first ever inline roll and a wicked bad inclined dive loop to boot. Restraints were awful and made worse and claustrophobic by the support ring design.

That's how I felt about Green Lantern at Magic Mountain. The over the shoulder restraints and the shield at the side made you feel like you were trapped in a ball and being tossed around. It was claustrophobic and definitely painful.
grsupercity
Oh I am on the Banshee train. I have ridden all 5 north American B&M coasters with vest restraints and I do not like them. X-Flight was the only one I could seem to get a little comfy on. Most want to crush and destroy you!!!!
