Nick Central Expansion in store for Carowinds?

Well, it looks like Paramount's Carowinds is getting a Nickelodeon Central expansion for 2005! What leads me to beleive this is their homepage now features an image that says "New attractions for 2005!" and then shows their Nickelodeon Central logo under it. Not only that, but screamscape.com received some new construction images showing lots of the area being repainted (orange and green), with concrete replacing what once was asphalt (stay away from our eagles with that Nick crap). Why should we care? Because they're getting rid of their Zoom Zone and Animation Station for it! Which, if the rumors are true about our Nickelodeon Central expansion next year, we could loose part of (or all of) our Hanna-Barbera Land with it. So lets all just hope I'm wrong laugh.gif

Note: None of this information is confirmed but expect an announcement on January 31st.

As much as I hate to see Hanna-Barbera go PKI is the chains flagship park so I think we will see HBL around until 2008 but I have been told that in 2006 we will see HBL start to fade out the only HB character you will see is my fav character scooby doo I think PKI has him until 2010.I really hope PKI gets that Mrs.Puff's Boating Crash Course Boating School but If PKI doesnt put it in the area of picnic grove or old nick theater we could already know whats going to take over when scooby leaves the park.

I believe that PKI will have Scooby for longer than 2010. Because I don`t think they would install the Scooby ride in 2003, and expect to get only 8 years out of it. Granted that the tradition for rides in that building is for the rides to only stick around about 10 years.

I ain't counting on it because the area had 13 rides in NC, ZZ, and AS last year.

The following rides have been seen in offseason construction photos.

1)Scooby-Doo's Ghoster Coaster

2)Dasterly's Flying Machines

3)Judy's Jetliners

4)Magic Flying Balloons

5)Carousel

6)Chopper Chase

The following rides are known not to be leaving:

7)Taxi Jam

8)Runaway Reptar

9)Rocket Power:Airtime!

10)Log Flume

The following rides have been installed this year:

11)Flying Eagles

12)Mystery Ride(boat ride)

The following rides aren't listed above:

13)Road Rally(installed 1998)car ride

14)Mini-Train(Station has been seen in photo, but I don't think that means anything)

15)Swing Time(1987-no lines, bad location)

The only thing I dislike, othe than them having PKI`s flyers is calling the Carousel the Nick-O-Round. I`m sorry, but with a classic like a carousel, they should keep its name as Carousel. Also, I hope they don`t destroy the classic carousel by adding the vignettes of the Nick Toon chracters! Also with the original introduction of Nick Central, PKI was not first. PKD had Nick Central installed in 2000, and then PKI revamped Nickelodeon Splat City into Nick Central in 2001.

I zestfully agree with you. I think our Carousel's value will deline because of this.

The one attraction that stands out from the rest is "Dora the Explorer’s™ Azul™ Adventure!" It sounds like it will be four minute long outdoor-darkride with some heavy theming and a storyline. This ride just may pull off the Disneyesque family rides they have been pushing for wink.gif
