October 9, 20241 yr From X and copied into Reddit. Who wants to pick one up for me on my behalf? Sucks they will only be sold inside the park this Saturday.
October 17, 20241 yr Did anyone happen to buy one? Anyone know if they sold out instantly or are they still trying to sell them?

October 20, 20241 yr Does CP have the same sort of people with attachment syndrome that KI does with roller coaster memorabilia? Or could it be that since the ride still exists, there is not an urgency to buy a piece that is, in reality, a piece of scrap? (I realize the same could be said of The Vortex, but that just feels wrong and dirty)
October 20, 20241 yr I think its the fact that people are starting to see, and get very tired of, CF/CP in particular becoming Disney Jr with their (IMHO) utterly ridiculous $300 money grab. A hundo, OK..... even $150 MAAAAYYYYYYYYBE $200 and thats a big stretch, but not $300.

Especially after they wait 1.5 hours in Maverick FL and 45 min to use the restroom, they aren't going to spend any more at that place
October 20, 20241 yr Im not saying its not a cool piece, but let us put this in perspective. Vortex was mentioned above, and pieces of it.... a coaster that A LOT of people Loved and/or had fond memories of.... were $198.70 and came with a COA and limited edition postcards. One more example is Mean Streak/SV. I paid $50 for a ticket to the LBJ Foundation event for SVs pre-opening and along with that came as many rides as I could fit in the time frame of the event and Maverick rides as a bonus AND a limited edition piece of MS's wood track bed with a Steel Vengeance laser cut plaque mounted to it and red bandana. Now, had Mav ever actually RUN during normal park operations with the heartline roll installed then Hell YEAH it would be worth $300, Id actually pay a lot more for it if that were the case.

Some rejects can go for higher value. A few pennies that were a reject/misprint from the mint and got out are worth a lot as an example. Not sure what to make of this one, especially so many years later after just sitting in a field lol.
October 20, 20241 yr I think in general a coaster that is still in existence isn't worth as much as one that is being closed forever but we've seen wicked twister track sit on the shelf. Now Maverick is sitting but from accounts moving enough they are still limiting the sales to in person at the park. The Racer wood was not particularly expensive $150 I believe and it was available on the website for a few months. BGW charging $600 for loch Ness is ridiculous and that track isn't moving anywhere in terms of sales. Vortex sold out in 3 days of in person sales because unlike the other rides it was beloved and it was closing. Maverick, Racer, and Loch Ness are beloved but not closing and wicked twister was closing but not beloved. Vortex had both going for it and the fact that it was sold at a more reasonable price than a lot of the others. Now I'll be willing to attribute that to inflation... Can't deny inflation when even rollercoaster scap metal goes up $100-$400 since 2019. I know that I personally do not have $300 just sitting around to spend on fancy souvenirs. Sure Maverick track is cool and maybe some people have $300 of spending money and if they worked hard for it I don't begrudge them a bit. I just know that sales tend to be faster/higher when more people can afford an item than when you price out certain individuals.
October 25, 20241 yr Hey I was up at Cedar Point today and the Maverick track slices are officially SOLD OUT just in case anyone was wondering
