DonHelbig
Following the example set by Kings Island and other Six Flags parks with its content creator policy, the San Diego Padres banned Fox Sports baseball reporter Ken Rosenthal from their dugout during Game 3 of the National League Division Series on Tuesday. The Padres were displeased with something Rosenthal had written for ‘The Athletic.’ In response, they also chose not to participate in the standard in-game interviews with him, which are typically part of the broadcast. BoddaH1994
Glad to see that journalistic integrity is also promoted on the west coast.
disco2000
Journalistic integrity was gone long before the days of Six/CF content creator policy.....
beastfan11
Freedom of the press is important. Anything otherwise draws unflattering comparisons. Important to remember.
BeeastFarmer
It depends on how press is defined. Given the social media revolution, many people with a camera phone think they are the press. When companies delete negative comments and ban posts from someone someone from further comments, is it the same principle? FTR, I was banned from an amusement park's Facebook page a few years ago and my comment removed, before I understood how the industry worked, for a subjective post about how the park was miserably crowded and people should avoid coming. It was petty IMHO, but wasn't any skin off my back. I don't think it is a media person's "right" to be in a dugout, or a media preview at an amusement park. If we are wanting objective reporting, those events/locations, by their nature, are created to give an opportunity for very subjective reporting.
