Considering it took KI all winter and summer just to finish painting Diamondback, you can say Pantherian was painted in “record” timing.
Vortex1987
I just post-poned my Kings Dominion trip until summer then. I'm not going without I305 (Pantherian) being open. And I need it to be as hot as possible, because, bring on the blackout!!

johnjniehaus
I'm going to the ACE conference and trust me there's going to be some pretty upset people if this is down during the conference
Vortex1987
I might wait until June just to be safe. I305 is my #1 bucket list ride due to its sheer intensity. (Still can't be as bad as 08' Crypt) And when I go this summer I want to make sure its open so I can get it done!!

But the best ride at BGW is Verbolten.

I think it's what you enjoy in a coaster. I-305 is my favorite coaster period and I have ridden everything at BGW. 1 hour ago, BeeastFarmer said: ACERs are generally understanding and quiet about such things. If they get too loud, their membership could be revoked. I've never seen it happen but have heard about it. ACERs I feel are understanding and professional with their complaints but I hear more and more rumbles amongst them about the lack of transparency from parks about retiring rides or having unannounced extended closures. What is very unfortunate is this year Spring Conference in Virginia has a rather sparse schedule of events as compared to Kings Island Spring Con and other ACE events from last year like Preservation Con. It also cost quite a bit more than those other cons that offered more. So having the top ride at KD possibly down and KD making the announcement literally less than a week after the registration for an ACE conference opened up is very frustrating. Yes ACERs won't be screaming about it but I know that I am not the only one that will file a polite complaint at Kings Dominion guest services during my visit if the ride is still down. We all understand that things break or projects get behind schedule but when you don't communicate that in a timely fashion and people invest hundreds to thousands of dollars in a trip, I think the park should know how individuals feel about that. I actually lodged a complaint at Cedar Point last fall after going on a Friday morning before haunt and realizing that 1/4 of the coasters were not operating. The guest services guy was super polite and said he agreed that it should have been communicated on the website that CP doesn't run all their rides during the weekdays in Oct. Obviously the lack of communication comes from someone much higher up than the guest services guy but my point is that guests and even lower level employees all understand the fact that when parks do not communicate in a timely fashion, people get burnt. To be fair, I have already bought flights and hotels for the ACE Spring Conference but had they announced this closure a week ago, I might not have paid for an ACE conference

No. Im only going to KD for I305 (Pantherian) I want that ultra-intense experience and to black out as much as possible.

Yeah it's been a real bummer that it's going to be closed during spring con. And everyone knows that it's arguably their best coaster so anything they replaced it with wasn't going to be good enough. Now why they replaced it with backlot I have no idea when they could have done lights on ERT session on FoF

ReedObsessor
As of now, I have planned a vacation for July 26 to August 3 to the Virginia/DC area. The plan is to visit 3 parks (KD, BGW, SFA). I've set things up so I can still cancel hotel reservations in the middle of July if I need to (and postpone my trip until later in August)... this depends on Pantherian primarily, along with BGW's Verbolten. There are rumors of Pantherian not opening until August, or possibly not at all this year, so I am taking that into consideration. I already had a nice big lawn ornament to deal with last summer (Top Thrill 2 @ CP), and I don't want to visit another one this year. BeeastFarmer
The local market doesn't care for the coaster that much, apparently, because it rarely has a line. Enthusiasts will not drive the attendance needle at KD much, if at all. Besides, the coaster is a snooze fest. I'd rather ride The Great Pumpkin Coaster for thrills than Pantherian.
