I don't know why, but the pictures wouldn't upload as pictures from my phone. Instead they uploaded as files. Idk if it was an issue with the site or my phone, but I tried reuploading them and it didn't help.

You may want to try running them through a file format converter (I've used some free ones I found through Google in the past), and then uploading from there. The HEIC files never seem to be supported across the board for some reason.

Also it looks as if the dranes were spray painted with orange spray paint.

Also interesting that they planted grass on one half and have the other half gravel. Honestly i would be ok with the area becoming a pathway that connects Banshee to Drop Tower and have the grass area become some type of lawn area that could house lawn games and maybe a stage for live music (like the lawn area at Carowinds by Thunder Striker/Harmony Hall. Will be interesting to watch this area.

A fun little tidbit for everyone: it seems Carowinds has completely torn up that pad between Thunder Striker and Harmony Hall. I don't know what they're doing, but it looked like pre-digging for new concrete. Maybe they will be getting a festival tent of their own?

Orange spray paint usually indicates buried communications/other cables (buried drainpipes are usually green), but if I recall correctly Kings Island also used orange paint to mark the approximate size of the holes for the new festival tent foundations. It would depend on what pattern the drains were painted with (dashed lines or a box drawn around each drain), but I would assume the concrete/ground around those drains will be replaced soon.

Here are ones I took of the new paths. Since the others didn’t show up from the other user. 58231eb3f9007c24c0b77ec5442a5f0a.jpg

Thank you. Im very interested on what the plan is as it looks like they only planted grass in half of the plot. I would be happy with a new pathway connecting Banshee/Bat with Drop Tower.

It's probably not going to be a pathway connecting Banshee/Bat with Drop Tower. Those new paths look far too narrow for that.

Or how about a new event space for something like live music and lawn games. Think the lawn area (or what was a lawn area) near Harmony Hall/Thunder Striker at Carowinds which they used for the easter/spring break activities a few weeks ago and last year a stage for the Summer Music Fest series.

I'm trying to visualize what lawn games would look like. Horseshoes? Croquette?

If this was a popular area, how would you actually make the lawn live?  Lots of average 190 pound people tramping, sitting and probably laying on the grass would kill it. Artificial turf would be too hot. Hardscape is a solution, but all of AZ, for the most part, is already hardscape.

And with entertainment being cut, I don't think they would add more, especially to an area that has proved it doesn't attract live music well...I don't think small shows would do well there, either.

Here's a new concept I made for a new Cornered maze layout:

New CORNERED Concept.png

The blue represents the fencing, the orange represents the queue, the red represents the actual maze layout, the brown represents The Bat entrance queue, the black represents The Bat exit, and the green represents a really cool new Cornered sign over the top of the entrance to the queue.

The queue/entrance area of this new maze would take up most of the EXtreme Skyflyer plot, but would allow for more space for the maze. Not exactly sure how many trees are back there and how many you would need to cut down, but I'm pretty sure you could fit it in there. Makes it scarier too because you're in the woods and lost in a maze with lots of fog.

The maze would start right at the end of the Skyflyer plot, and would end right after the former Blackout haunted maze (at least I think that's what it was called). This building could be used as a shed type thing with lots of scarecrows that are "being made" and they "come alive" and get you right when you see the exit. The exit would drop you off right next to The Bat sign.

In regards to Haunt additions, we did get Hooked last season, so KI isn't necessarily due for another maze. Although it isn't a maze and just a scare zone, it still counts to me as a Haunt addition. I do remember last year during Haunt the first 2-3 weeks of operations Cornered was down and not able to have guests go through the maze (I remember someone saying something about a pipe bursting). So maybe moving the Cornered maze would work better. If they did upgrade/redo Cornered, then you have something semi-new. It doesn't add a maze, but it is something new that you could advertise (although I'm not sure if they would advertise that). I've actually never been in Cornered before, (I'm not much of a scary, gory, evil stuff guy. I have been in KillMart and Hotel St. Michelle though) but I know lots of people that think Cornered is the weaker of the mazes and prefer the haunted houses more.

What do you guys think of this concept? Will the Skyfyler plot be used for a new Haunt attraction, or something else entirely?

The queue for this maze would probably be able to have a much smaller footprint, especially if it is a cattle pen-style queue. If it does become a new location for Cornered, I think they'd also need a lot more concrete. Kings Island has historically preferred to put guests on a stable path within mazes, but they may be able to achieve this using gravel so it can be more temporary. I doubt this will be a New for 2026 attraction (unless KI receives Rajun Cajun or something else from Six Flags America), but it would be a great spot for a Haunt maze. This Fall will be the 25th Halloween Haunt (formerly FearFest) event, and I think it would be really cool if the park did some things to celebrate that milestone anniversary.

I think it will probably just be a blank slate for now. One thing I'd like to see the park do is expand Coaster Connection. It is so cramped in there and the line to check out only allows one skinny aisleway connecting the left and right halves of the store. Hopefully it's soon due for a true renovation like KI Trading Company was this past off season.
