Timchat2
Despite the weather earlier in the day, opening night turned out to be quite pleasant! While it's easy to miss the scope of the event in the earlier years, it is wonderful to have Grand Carnivale back at a time when offerings like these are not guaranteed.
robintodd
I'm assuming no tasting cards?
Timchat2
No tasting cards. Prices for the food items range from $6.99 to $14.99.
IndyGuy4KI
You might notice there's no footage of interviews with people eating the food. That is because I couldn't find any. They need to bring back the tasting cards. It gave a sense of value and that is missing without it.

It is a miss not having the tasting cards.

I agree it is a miss not having a tasting card. It would even benefit them if they allowed a tasting count as one of the meals on the all season dining plan or provide a nice discount to tempt you to buy the tasting card.
robintodd
Went to Grand Carnivale last night. Having no tasting cards is definitely a miss for the park and I fear they may never come back. I always got one (or two) but after a 2 year hiatus I don't ever see them returning. I do, however, continue to be amazed by not just the parade, but those involved in it. There are just as many as I remember and EVERYONE did a fantastic job. The crowd was light but the energy from the performers and everyone in the parade (drivers included) were smiling and giving 110%. It really helps the energy and the enjoyment and everyone watching was having a great time as well. After all the years I've seen it I'm still not bored with it. This parade is a very special and we should consider ourselves lucky to have it. For that half hour it truely to me transforms KI into the happiest place on Earth. Well done KI!

Timchat2
The show stop at the parade remains one of the most well-produced pieces of the theme park entertainment anywhere. Every time I am amazed at how quickly it energizes the crowd, pulls spectators into the action, and leaves guests smiling. The music goes a long way, of course, but it is the positive and supportive spirit of the performers and crew that make it almost impossible not to join the fun.
disco2000
Enjoy it now, because under Six Flags, nothing is a given for next year....

True, also as is any of us being here for next yeaar. Which is why I enjoy it while it's here now. I'm more thankful for having Phantom Theatre Encore alebeit for 2 years in my lifetime than for not to have had it.
Losantiville Mining Co.
The parade they've been putting on for Grand Carnivale is one of the best I've seen at a theme park. The 50 Years of Fun parade back in 2022 is a close second, but Carnivale's is first. It is much better, in my opinion, than the Winterfest parades. While I doubt Six Flags will be willing to bring the event back, I hope whatever might replace it is very fun and good for the park.
Timchat2
Viva La Fiesta at Carowinds (and elsewhere) seems to be the likely replacement for Grand Carnivale. The event looks to be colorful and fun with a variety of activities and food offerings. I would definitely miss the strong live entertainment element of the parade and characters since it appears that Viva La Fiesta's entertainment is mostly outside music and dance groups.
SmartCat7162
I think the issue with the tasting card is that the price range for everything was so varied. I do feel like it is a miss that they don't bundle together the countries, like say you buy all the food in a bundle and it is $5 dollars off or bundle all the desserts together and make it so you get 25% off the cost of each individually. I just feel like it would be an easier pill to swallow and would entice sales.
