Timchat2 Posted Thursday at 08:46 PM Posted Thursday at 08:46 PM https://qr1.be/FYULZY The 2026 event guide has been posted for this year's Grand Carnivale. 1 Quote
Losantiville Mining Co. Posted Thursday at 10:03 PM Posted Thursday at 10:03 PM I appreciate that [it looks like] we'll have paper brochures for Grand Carnivale this year. If this really does turn out to be the last year of the event then I hope its successor will be as nice and as fun as Carnivale originally was. 1 Quote
Winterfestguy Posted yesterday at 01:19 AM Posted yesterday at 01:19 AM Guess the park must have a defective weather radar (someone made a bad call to go ahead a few minutes before 9pm). Despite the lighting and rain so close by on the radar, they decided to run the parade tonight only to get drenched half way around the Eiffel Tower before having to head back to home base. I have been there other years when the payment was just lightly damp and the parade was cancelled due to safety. So not sure what the new policy is for running the parade with lighting and rain. 1 Quote
IndyGuy4KI Posted yesterday at 01:54 AM Posted yesterday at 01:54 AM I was waiting in front of Sweet Spot to take video and surprised to see it coming from Coney Mall. Then instead of coming down that side of IS it circles around the ET and they stop in front of the Bandstand and ask the performers start running towards the dressing rooms. 1 Quote
mikejenkins1 Posted yesterday at 08:38 AM Posted yesterday at 08:38 AM Why is it starting at 9 PM this year? I have seen in past years parents waiting for earlier parade with small children and say nah, too late for us. Plus it will go right into the fireworks show and hopefully starts/finishes a little early for that. Quote

Starting earlier than 9 was always a dissapointment for me because the lights need to be seen in the dark to do the floats justice imo. Quote
BeeastFarmer Posted yesterday at 12:17 PM Posted yesterday at 12:17 PM I think it's started at 9 for the last couple of years. It's better in the dark. 1 Quote

I think they could do 8:30 and get the effect and make parents happy. With how little there is left to do around this event, and stopping all shows a full hour- hour/half before to let the cast prep for the parade, the whole “night time event” feels flat for most of the evening. They cut all the small international shows after year one and got rid of most of the craft booths and went to just one generic tent. There’s just not that much to do to have that long of an entertainment break. Why the hell they never extended this to be adventurer port and added a small live band to the Mercado patio is beyond me. 1 Quote

The first year a few of the floats stayed out as set extensions for the dance party. They should run the floats back up around the tower- circle the tower and have the cast fill that whole area for a giant street party vibe. As it stands, the parade ends, the cast just wanders up to the stage while empty floats drive back to storage. They could make it way cooler. 1 Quote
