From 1992 to the present, the Phantom Maestro and his troupe of performers have thrilled people of all ages. Perhaps some of us have even become dark ride fans after a first visit to the theater. PKI’s Marketing Communications Rep, Jeffrey Siebert, who was kind enough to give Rick Davis and me a quick behind the scenes tour, informed us that The Phantom Theater welcomed 914,000 visitors and ranked 6th among the top 10 rides (at PKI) during the 2000 season. That figure was double that of their Drop Zone!

Is there any where, were I can find the Top 10 rides list?

Here is a list of the Top Ten most popular rides at PKI in 2000. I had this list typed in a Word Document after i saw it either on a website, or in a newspaper article. Anyhow, heres the list from my word document.

• In 2000, the most popular ride was the (1) Racer with 2,081,115 riders. That was followed by (2) Adventure Express with 1,322,188 riders and the (3) Vortex with 1,288,492 riders. The next most popular ride was (4) The Beast with 1,143,739 riders, followed by (5) Top Gun with 1,049,989 riders. That was followed by (6) Phantom Theater with 914,269 riders, followed by (7) The Beastie with 862,860 riders. Next in line was (8) Flight of Fear with 847,300 riders. The last two top ten rides were (9) Congo Falls with 845,932 patrons and (10) Viking Fury with 840,667 riders.

I've seen the DAFE site before and appreciate the fact that Phantom Theater still lives on the web.

I hate to beat a dead horse, but I really do miss Phantom Theater. I wonder what PKI will do with the music and figures. They were supposed to be on auction this year...but to my knowledge weren't.

Have a great day!

I don`t exactly remember where I got that list from. It was either a website or an article in the Cincinnati Enquirer. I seem to think that it was an article in the Cincinnati Enquirer. You might be able to find it on their website if you do a search for it.

The weird thing is, every time I ride those rides, they are never, busy

I know that PKI still has the cars for the ride, they are stored away in a storage lot/field over by PKI University. Along with the HUGE cardboard/wooden advertisement of TR:TR that was place on IS in 2001.

PKI wouldnt let SALLY put in the Mini Mystery Machines so they redid the PT cars to save money...which in my opinion is weak!

I personally like our cars better than those on the other Scooby rides. Plus if they would have put in the other type of car the ride would not have the capacity per hour that it currently has because each car would have to be stopped instead of them staying in continuous motion.

Have any of you rode in the REAL mini mystery machines that were ment for the ride? Its a different ride I like the mini mystery machines better than the hand me down PT cars If you get my drift. B) But you do have a point about the capacity and The PT cars give SDATHC a different feel.

Personally, I wish that PKI would use some vacant land and build a new, revised Phantom Theater with the same characters and music..........and add more characters and make it more thrilling.

Have a great day!

Plus KI has so much undeveloped land it just baffles me that they are taking out rides for new ones, if you have the land.....USE IT!

PKI does have a lot of land but not as much as you would think.

I wouldnt like to see too many rides being taken out we have just a few Classic rides left in the park for us to enjoy.

Hey I still miss the HBL RainBow and the Smurfs.

I've been on the Scooby ride at Carowinds, and I have to say that I did not like the cars at all. The cars having two rows is not a good choice in my opinion. I prefer our cars over their cars any day of the week.

I have been on a couple of the Sally Scooby rides and I much prefer the continuous loading of PKI's - it makes the line move much faster and I like the "enclosed" feeling of the old Phantom Theater cars.

I have been on PKI,PC,PKD and they kick butt I kinda agree with greenghost the Mystery Machines that are in the other sally dark rides dont block your view like the PT cars do in other words your free to look around.

I think would be cool if Sally made a Smurf DARK ride like the Scooby doo dark rides but have it take place in Gargamels Manor.
