UrsHoeer Posted April 19, 2005 Posted April 19, 2005 Hey guys, first of all I want to say hi to everybody using this board. I've been reading here for a while now and must say that this is a great community! I'm working on a recreation of the Italian Job Stunt Track using the NoLimits Rollercoaster Simulation. I hope I did a good job until now, because I didn't get the chance to go there yet. (I'm from Germany! ) Here are some screens: As you see on the last picture, I could't create all of the posters because i didn't find photos of them all. Maybe you guys can help me and/or take some photos in case you're living close to PKI. Thanks, Urs Quote
PKI Punk Posted April 19, 2005 Posted April 19, 2005 WOW. honestly, those pictures are amazing. Great job! Quote
Captain Nemo Posted April 19, 2005 Posted April 19, 2005 OMG, Really, OMG. I've been waiting for this! Thank you! Quote
Dane Posted April 19, 2005 Posted April 19, 2005 Have you checked out the PKICentral.com Photo Gallery? Quote
UrsHoeer Posted April 19, 2005 Author Posted April 19, 2005 Have you checked out the PKICentral.com Photo Gallery? Yes I did, I checked out a lot of galleries. But I wasn't successful. Please guys, help me! Otherwise I can't finish it! Thanks a lot anyway for your commentaries! I'm glad you like it! Quote
Captain Nemo Posted April 19, 2005 Posted April 19, 2005 Hey, if you ever need a beta tester I would be glad to be one. Quote
KIBeast Posted April 19, 2005 Posted April 19, 2005 Looks like a pretty good re-creation, from what I know of the ride. Quote
Skippy Posted April 19, 2005 Posted April 19, 2005 Nice job, right now it looks more accurate than the original video animation (kudos to all who were involved in the original though) BTW, have you been to Movie Park Germany yet? If so, how does it stack up with the former WBMovie World? Quote
jzarley Posted April 19, 2005 Posted April 19, 2005 Very impressive! I had no idea that you could do detailed scenery/themeing like that in "NoLimits". Quote
PKIVortex Posted April 19, 2005 Posted April 19, 2005 That's cool. I would like to see this for myself in my No Limits game. Nice job. Quote
UncleHenry Posted April 20, 2005 Posted April 20, 2005 Yes, you can do theming like that, just not actually in No Limits. Thats the main reason I rarely use it. You need to have (expensive) 3D modeling software to create theming, then you import it into NL. If you don't have 3D modeling software, you're stuck with what NL gives you. Quote
kong fu guy Posted April 20, 2005 Posted April 20, 2005 I love NL its good and I got 3D software modeling so its the funnest thing to do on pc (2 more post) Quote
familyman Posted April 20, 2005 Posted April 20, 2005 You have a ton of free time on your hands. Great job! Quote
flightoffear1996 Posted April 20, 2005 Posted April 20, 2005 I tried to do some 3d modeling but I just have no idea on how to do it. Quote
KIBeast Posted April 20, 2005 Posted April 20, 2005 "Nice job, right now it looks more accurate than the original video animation" I know you said kudos to the guy whom made the original video, but, it was made based on descriptions and artist renderings. Things have changed a little since then. The guy who did the IJ:ST vid, does most of the promo vids you see for new coasters. Here is his site bad nitrus. Not trying to get on you or anything, just want you to see what this guy has done. Completely amazing. Quote
flightoffear1996 Posted April 21, 2005 Posted April 21, 2005 Yea that site has some really good animations. I really like what you did with IJST. Is the helicoper and stuff gonna work? Quote
UrsHoeer Posted April 21, 2005 Author Posted April 21, 2005 No, it's not possible to add animated objects in NoLimits. But you'll still see the helicopter and a lot of other theming! Quote
Reclaimer Posted April 21, 2005 Posted April 21, 2005 No, it's not possible to add animated objects in NoLimits. But you'll still see the helicopter and a lot of other theming! NoLimits does have its limits. Quote

pkifreak Posted April 22, 2005 Posted April 22, 2005 Really good job dude.... How long did that take you? Quote
UrsHoeer Posted April 22, 2005 Author Posted April 22, 2005 I built the track shortly after the release of the preview video. It was really wrong and I stopped working on it. When the first construction pics appeared I had the idea to create a perfect themed recreation of the ride. And now I'm workin on it for probably two month. Quote
UrsHoeer Posted April 27, 2005 Author Posted April 27, 2005 I created a little video of the track, hope you guys enjoy it. DOWNLOAD Quote
