StXsteven
I could easily be wrong on this, so if I am, politely say no but... they are redecorating HB to a NU theme, and they are doing alot with spongebob(the movie, the 2 new rides(or was it one) and someones rumor about spongebob taking over SDATHC) Well my first question is, didn't they stop making sponge bob episodes? If they did then stop reading and reply, because if they are still making episodes I'm wrong. If they did stop, isn't the spongebob theming waistful? Sure kids love spongebob now, but if the show stopped, kids will forget about spongebob in 2 years. So yeah thats my question.
Pkirocker77
They still make new Spongebob episodes. They're on with Friday night slime time. In fact there was a new one on just last week.
King Bowser
Yeah Spongebob is still on and a new spongebob TV movie event airs this upcoming Thanksgiving Weekend. CoastersRZ
Yes, Scooby will remain in his castle as the last ride themed to HB left in the park. There was a rumor that Paramount`s Great America would be recieving a dark ride themed to Spongebob, but to my knowledge that has remained only a rumor. Scooby_Doo
I have heard rumors about Spongebob getting his own dark ride as well I have also heard that the smurfs would take over the haunted castle when scooby leaves but those are nothing more than a bunch of wild rumors. Outdoor Man
nice egg-shell walking StXSteven. That's kind of funny to watch the minute someone posts a "possibly incorrect" statement, those on the Gestapo are quick to pounce on it..... anyway- is Hanna Barbera as a company pretty much extinct? You look at the line of cartoons they made and it's pretty impressive. It will happen some day, but it will be sad when SCatHC finally changes call signs. As far as the topic is concerned, I loved growing up on Flintstones, Scooby Doo, Tom & Jerry, Bugs Bunny, etc... and not too much attune to the Nick characters. My daughter is just a few months old so I guess I better prepare- but as much as I hate to see the old HB rides and theming go, this Nick Universe is a huge investment in the park and means it is alive and well for the investment; which also privides job security for some of you (like it or not) anyway- bye, bye HB (RIP)..... hello Nick! Scooby_Doo
anyway- is Hanna Barbera as a company pretty much extinct? You look at the line of cartoons they made and it's pretty impressive. Uhh... Outdoor Man
that's sad.... I only vaguely remember a time when Fred Flintsone had free reign around the park and the HB Carousel..... ALWAYS had to ride Jabber Jaws. I don't even know what cartoon that belonged to, but remember always having to sit in his jaws.... is that carousel even still there/themed the same. I say I'll miss those attractions but I can't honestly say I've paid much attention to them in recent years. ah... the Jetson's.... Mr. Spacely. owned by WB... at least they'll live on. Shaggy
In addition to those already mentioned... Kings Island also had costumed characters of: Wilma Flintstone Betty Rubble Banana Splits Shaggy

Kings Island also had costumed characters of: Wilma Flintstone Betty Rubble Banana Splits Shaggy I'd forgotten about the Bananna Splits characters. The Wilma and Betty characters were out so infrequently that I didn't include them. Those costumes were so small that I imagine that they were probably females in those costumes as well. RollerNut
Hanna Barbera started Cartoon Network, and then changed the name of Hanna Barbera to Cartoon Netwotk Studios. Dexter's Lab used to have the Hanna Barbera(HB) logo at the end of the show but later on they changed it to CN. "What's New, Scooby-Doo" is the only recent "Hanna Barbera" cartoon that doesn't use Cartoon Network Studios.
