Layout of the new Nickelodeon Universe

It seems to make a lot of sense that PKI will expand the new Nick area to the foot bridge with the little waterfalls next to the exit of WWC. This would allow the park to retheme Wings into the Nicktoon Cafe and they could even remove the food stand between the entrance and exit of WWC and install one of the new rides like, the Jimmy Neutron ride (zamperla kite ride), in this location. They could then remove the Old time photo area and small stage giving them room for the Avatar coaster. I think they will then put the Dora area over were the little trains and Scooby Doo coaster is.

This would then set the new Nickelodeon area into 3 zones. With the Avatar, Wild Thornberry's and WWC as an area that focuses on pre-teen and families, with Dora (preschool area) over on the other side as another zone with SpongBob and SDHC anchoring the middle zone that would cater to both the pre-teens and preschoolers and their families.

What do you think the new layout will be?

I doubt you see the Nick Theming extend past where Nick/HB currently ends.

I do expect to see the Rivertown Bathrooms being converted to Nick Theming. Actually, I would suspect that one of the Nick rides is going in right beside it... right about where the Nick Central Sign is now. Heck they've already removed signage from the blue fence in that area... which is pretty telling.

On the opposite side of the area, I expect that you will not see theming for Nick begin until you pass Scooby's Haunted Castle. I also expect that in the Midway area in between it, Pixie and Dixie's Swingset, Astro Orbitors, and the Scooby Photo area will have a large sign or such and the are will extend on back past that. That way they have keep SDATHC in tact without upsetting the Nick people who are likely involved in the project.

A birdie told me that the Astro Orbitors, Boo Boo's Baggage and the Hand Carts (All original rides from old Coney Island park) will bite the dust. So in the course of 2 years PKI will have lost 5 original attractions. Also expected to meet it's maker is the afore-mentioned Scooby's Ghoster Coaster. I would suspect that all removed rides (with the exception of the Orbitors) be stored for possible future use.

Construction will likely begin soon, during Winterfest, with the attractions in the wooded area behind Ghoster Coaster sealed off. Look for trees around Beastie to be thinned and a ride inserted in-between Boulder Bumpers and The Beastie exit. Also look for the "rock" facade of Boulder Bumpers to dissapear and Beasite to not only lose it's name... but it's color scheme as well. Can you say fuscia?

I am expecting that the area will receive a drastic overhaul with most, if not all smaller theming elements to be changed... down to the benches and lamp-posts.

It will be a large area with wider midways and better flow. (No dead ends) It will likely be broken into segmented areas... Dora rides over there, Jimmy Nuetron rides over here etc. etc. etc.

Mostly I think they will work hard to clear the area of that "Hodge Podge" feel it's had for sometime.

Has any one heard weather or not they will have a Nickelodeon Show inside the old Enchanted Theater. (Example: Playhouse Disney at Disney-MGM and the Barney Show at Universal Studios Orlando.

Maby the Blue's Clue's house may be in side the old theater.

Like scooby said it would make anysense to put a blues clues house there its too close to the haunted castle and the area of scooby shall remain untouched.

I'm gonna go ahead and confirm what Shaggs said so far wink.gif Listen to him as he obviously has some great sources!

I don't think we'll be seeing the Nick Theater next year, so take pictures while you can, as that whole area (Nick Theater, Green Slime Zone, and the former Nick Central Photo Spot) will be the underwater world of Bikini Bottom next year (Krusty Krab Snack Shack will be apart of this area)! I can't stress this enough, Nick Central will be leaving with Hanna-Barbera Land to make way for Nick Univerese, and will also be receiving a drastic facelift! Don't forget to take pictures of Nick Central as it'll be leaving and come 2006, the old Nick Splat City look will be gone for good! The Wild Thornberrys River Adventure and Rugrats Runaway Reptar will the only part of Nick Central to remain same but may return with a few touch ups here and there.

I wouldn't mind seeing a show like the one's ragerunner mentioned as their good family fun, but I don't see it happening, althought I do know the Nickelodeon Celebration Parade will be making a return and that the wider paths will make it more convenient! Who knows, maybe the'll resurect the Enchanted Theater laugh.gif

^ Doesn't it sound like this SpongeBob underwater world has more attractions in it than it suggests? If Crash Course Boating School isn't built, that doesn't mean the area won't stay as a play area. Like the Mermaid Kingdom in Tokyo Disney Sea, the SpongeBob area could have two or three small attractions for little kids or the whole family.

OR, Crash Course could be an indoor-outdoor coaster that is short but sweet (think smaller than Adventure Express, yet more themed and more action-packed) that would lie to the west of the Nick Theater. Then the Water Maze/Nick Theater area could play host to that Plankton free-fall ride, one or two little kid attractions, an actual Krusty Krab restaurant, shopping, and play area, all indoor and outdoor. That's my take on SpongeBob's "neighborhood."

Meanwhile, Ghoster Coaster and the baby rides behind it will play host to the Avatar spinning coaster thing, which, hopefully, will be highly themed as well. Finally, all the other baby rides will be re-themed (Jimmy Neutron Bumper Cars, Hey Arnold Taxi Chase, Nick Carousel, Lazytown Sporticopters, Backyardigans Swing-A-Long).

All that's left to figure out is that Danny Phantom flying ride. Any ideas on what it will be, or if it's actually going to be built next year?

  • 2 weeks later...

I heard that the mine themed building will be staying. The Nick Universe will encompass the former HBL and the current Nickelodeon Central. No more room will be taken from Rivertown, with the possible transformation of Wings into a Nick themed (or some other theme( restaurant).

Dont you mean Tomb Raider Diner?

I would love a Themed Diner to the Theme of Tomb Raider... but the problem is, it would have asian and middle eastern food, not something I desire...

I think you give PKI too much credit on their ability to fully carry out a theme... biggrin.gif
