CoastersRZ
Apparantely, from what I just heard from my brother, Fox 19 in Cincinnati will be doing a behind the scenes segment on The Beast at PKI set to air on the Monday morning newscast on Fox 19. Not sure what all they are going to show, or what the purpose of the story is, but just thought I`d give everyone a head up. The story might involve Don Helbig, the person famous for the amount of times he has ridden The Racer. I saw him at the park on Saturday, when a camera man and reporter were in the station for The Beast.
CoastersNSich
I saw Don and his daughter in the park tonight, near Nickelodeon Universe and Rivertown. I saw the preview of what they will do, Sheila Gray will get the chance to walk up the track of The Beast. I'll try to tune in between 4:30 and 9:00 am, but I've lately been a late waker-upper. coastergirl
That would explain why there was a camera and crew filming The Beast when we were there on Saturday. We weren’t sure which T.V. station they were from since we are from Columbus. They were filming a lady in the front seat of The Beast and when we were on the ride they were filming at the bottom of the first hill. Hopefully someone will see the segment and let us know how it was.

Gordon Bombay
Don Helbig is a fantastic man, he is always friendly when you meet him and jsut an all around good guy. I've met and spoke with him at hockey games and at KI.

DA RIPPER
Don knows his Hockey he was going to be the VP of the Cincinnati Railraiders but the team couldn't come up with 2000 season ticket holders. But there's talk of and NHL team going in partners with the Gardens and they may have Hockey here in 2007/2008 season, nothing better to do in this city from Jan til April. His record of riding The Beast may slow down if he moves to another hockey town to find job.
PKIVortex
Does anyone know if Fox 19 is going to have this available in their video sections on the website?
BoddaH1994
I emailed them and asked if any information was gong to be on their site. I'll let you know what they say.
PKIVortex
Thanks I was thinking about doing the same thing. I'd really like to see this. Too bad I didn't get up early enough today LOL.
ZosoBeast
VIDEO IS UP...... http://www.fox19.com/ My review: Blah Blah blah. I like his comment at the end: "And it's all made out of wood?" Fox19
Captain Nemo
I never liked the pop up window to watch the videos. They never work on my computer. Why can't they just have it as a simple download.
CoastersRZ
Mine worked but the video quality was terrible, and the sound kept cutting out. It was interesting to see and hear what Ed Dangler had to say. And yes, his comment "And its all made out of wood" was quite funny.

Oldiesmann
Video worked fine here, but maybe that's because I've got a broadband connection.
CoastersRZ
I`ve got broadband too. Don`t know why it didn`t work for me.
CoastersNSich
What about Carl Eninchmen (Or however you spell his name) he shouldbe in this to. He is king of The Beast. Carl Eichelmann? He hasn't made too many visits to the park and/or other appearances lately, other than the 25th anniversary video.
ZosoBeast
I am thinking he was spotted at IJ Media Day.
CoastersRZ
Well, for racking up all those rides on The Beast, he seems to not be spotted or at PKI very often these days.
UncleHenry
Yeah, the video keeps cutting out. Would PKIC be able to work a deal out to get a downloadable, non crappy version of the video? I wanna use this footage to embarrase someone later... (evil laugh here)
PKIVortex
Video played just fine for me. No cutting out, and no problems with the sound. Great video.

Hank
I usually don't pay much attention, but I couldn't help notice the front sign on The Beast train did not say Paramount - it just said King's Island. Was it always like that?
Gordon Bombay
^Yes, it has since those trains were put on.
