Featured Replies

Do u guys think the new seatbelts make The Beast a little less shaky, I think it kept u in place more. I liked it the other way, shaky, bumpy, and rough, same wit u guys?

...and the soft cushioning and leather upholstery with no seat divider or head rest.

  • To my knowledge, Racer receive quite a bit of track work a few seasons back.    I rode The Beast this past Friday, and thought the ride was quite enjoyable.  Still one of my favorite wooden coasters.

I prefer the buzz bar and no seat belt, makes for an exciting ride. Ahh the good ol days. Sent from a signal coming out of the Vega system.

I thought that the seatbelt was pointless. But, I guess it could come in handy should the restraint fail. I don't think it had any effect on my ride on The Beast.

experienced them for the first time last night... i really do not think they make much of a difference in the ride at all. they are just there for safty, and as a precaution do to all the accidents lately. no big deal, they dont bother me at all, i dont think they ahve an effect either way.

yea when you're small you can't even realize something's there cause they stop like 1-2 inches above my waist..lol so yea i do'nt think they make any difference at all. don't even cut off airtime for me (not that beast has THAT much of it ;) )

They don't make any difference in the ride. Although you have to get used to it being there because I totally forgot about the belts at the end of the ride.

The only thing that i have noticed them doing was that i have forgot it being there and tried to stand up before taking the seatbelt off, wasnt good. and that it slows down the loading process, i dont feel any more secure because of it. yet i am 5'7'' 130lbs so that might make a difference

-rctfreak-

I'm 6'2 205lbs, so I'm a big guy as is, and I don't see a problem with them at all. I don't even notice them on the ride itself... and yes, I've tried to stand up before detaching the belt.. it hurts a little, but it's more embarrassing than anything.

I love it every time I forget about them when I get up. I push than pull the lapbar than stand up and the seatbalt hits me in the you know where guys.

Just FYI guys, the girls tried to stand up without undoing the seatbelts and it hurt them too.... :D

At 5'5 I can say that the seatbelts do make me feel more secure on The Beast. I wish they'd add them to Drop Zone, Face/Off, and Vortex too.

G'Day mates and sheilas,

Your crazy. :P

It's like asking PKI to put more brakes on The Beast.

Huh? How is wishing that there are more seatbelts on certain rides so you feel safer, like adding more brakes on The Beast. I don't get the comparison.

yea i mean i'm not too worried that my OTSR on Vortex is just gonna fly up but i'd feel a whole lot better if they had either a seatbelt or something to lock into the restraint. just incase i mean that ride's getting old.

Take a ride in the very backseat of The Beast, you won't even notice you have a seatbelt on.

Because you'll be in too much pain to care.

My fiancee and I rode last seat based on someone's suggestion we were chatting with in line...we both carried bruises for a few days (not exaggerating).

Wow- having only ridden Beast for the first time in 2009, I thought the seatbelts were added in the 90's or something, not the 2000's. Also worth noting looking through this thread...

-Vortex also has seat belts now as a backup to the OTSR, so Italianchef got his wish. This had to have been between 2005-2008 because when I rode in 2009, it had them.

-Diamondback was built in 2009, ran w/o seat belts until 2013, and then got them in 2014...ironically a decade after Beast...

-BLSC and The Bat have both LOST their seat belts in recent years

I think I remember The Racer having seatbelts in 2000 when I rode it, but am not 100% sure on that.
