I was just thinking that if FOF was removed, none of us would be wondering where the next themed land would go, I think that would have been a given. Now we are all sorta scratching our heads! lol

Not to start this debate all over again, but look up your facts KI Man:

The Beast ALWAYS HAD TRIM BRAKES DOWN THE HILL! Instead of gradually slowing you down to the speed, now its at the top where the speed can be controlled more correctly. It take nothing away from the ride what-so-ever.

And I thought it would be worth reading that post, something like "I wish they would remove those %*#@(%^$*&%^@*&%^ lights at the entrances of the tunnels.

My prediction: Capitol improvements to the park, no major ride, but a lot of park improvements.

Honestly for next year I think their main focus will be just fixing up the park, maybe a couple paint jobs but nothing major. Their main challenge over the course of the next 3 summers I think it was is to remove EVERYTHING Paramount which means rides like TRTR and IJST will have to be completely re-themed if not just removed completely. The biggest thing we might get next year is a flat ride in X-base. And of course around or right after the Paramount license ends I think we'll see our first custom CF creation (or Dominator from GL).

Uh, each ride is licensed separately. The timeframe is different for each, and different than that for the park name. I wouldn't bet the farm on the licensing, or lack thereof, causing ANY ride removals. It almost certainly will not.

Could Hurricane from the Myrtle Beach Pavillion fit in the days of thunder area and back were KC used to be or in X base or possibly the Screechin Eagle from Lesourdsville Lake it might be almost completly rotted and not worth it but im sure Couch's Campers :( would practically give that away!

...and the acquisition cost of a used wooden coaster is just the start of the expense of installing it. Ask Dick Knoebels. Or Magic Springs. Or Cypress Gardens. This doesn't even take into account that new wooden coasters are built to far higher, exacting safety standards that didn't even exist when older wooden coasters were built. There is a reason the chains are not known for moving wooden coasters, though they have moved many, many steel ones.

Cedar Fair has never moved a wooden coaster, to my knowledge. I sincerely doubt they start any time soon.

Which is a shame. There is this grand wooden coaster at Geauga Lake which really shouldn't be lost when and if the dry park up there closes. And it doesn't have a steel frame, either.

Raging Wolf Bobs or Big Dipper?

Probably a ride from Geauga lake in cleveland area since park tickit sales are dramaticly dropping and they are downsizing the thrill rides

When I visited the park on the weekend of the 28th I saw land clearing behind SOB. Maybe KI will get some good rides from GL. I hope it's either Dominator, The Big Dipper, or The Villian.

It may or may not be a maintenance nightmare, but the ride the coaster delivers after Cedar Fair's (and Six Flags) maintenance is far less than smooth, to put it mildly. Perhaps that is what the poster meant. . .

I could maybe see KI getting Time Warp, I think, with a new name, and paint job this could fit in to either X base, or Coney Mall.

What's Time Warp? AND COME ON! VILLIAN IS BETTER THAN NOTHING!

Villian may be.

Villain from Geauga Lake on the other hand...

Personally Id like a big steel coaster, one that breaks recrods. Although, that will probably never happen because of Cedar Point lol, I still want it lol

The day of record breaking coaster, are for the most part, behind us I believe. Regional parks simply do not see a big enough return on their investment when building such mega rides.

I really hope Cedar Point has found a success in Maverick both as a marketing tool to draw guests and as a successful attraction, id love to see a similar idea at KI. Maverick has become my favorite rollercoaster up there since visiting back in June. Its only negative point is those darn restraints doing a number on your neck.

Posted

Yes. I whole heartedly agree with that statement. I would have enjoyed Maverick about ten times better my neck wasn`t slamming into the awkward designed restraint on every single turn. But, I still prefer rides like Millenium Force and Magnum at Cedar Point as opposed to Maverick.

^ Im glad someone else agrees with me. I hate IT! I Hope we get another thrill ride this year, thrill rides are always fun.

I'd choose to get nothing over Villain. I don't even want to be half-tempted to ride that thing again.

Reminds me of when we went to GL in 05...

Gordon Bombay... "Aww come one guys lets try it one more time! When are ever gonna come here again? Bill, I know your ribs hurt from the last rides, this time we wont sit on a wheel!"

"Oh, you HAVE to sit on a wheel.....darn".

I prefer the back seat on SOB with its old trains over Villain.
