That's what I was thinking, but I haven't seen any Bob Cats over there as of this year. So it's very possible that could where the 2008 attraction could very well go. Who knows for sure. We probably won't for awhile, lets enjoy 2007 before we start wondering what 2008 will bring us.

You just got a coaster this season. The most you will probably get next season is rethemed rides and a waterpark expansion.

You may be right but KI does bring in a lot of money and Cedar Fair has commented on how bad KI needs steel coasters. It would not shock me at all if KI got another coaster next year especially with how excited people are over Firehawk.

It's very obvious that Kings Island is planning their expansion of Nickelodeon Central all the way over to the Action Zone area with the introduction of the latest technologies in kiddie coasters!

I would agree with you had this still been Paramounts, or anyone else except Mr. Kinzel that is in charge. He loves Kings Island, and I truly believe that this was one of the few reasons he purchased the Paramount Parks. Plus, look at Firehawk. It may be a "used" ride, but people still love it. People are waiting 5 hours for it. It's bringing in people. Its working. Its going to bring in money. And the coaster didn't break one record. Imagine if they put in a record breaking coaster. People would go crazy.

The park takes up 1/3 of the land KI owns. The rest is swampy stuff and woods.

And I, for one, can't wait to see how CF expands the park since Paramount found it "necessary" to remove the vintage cars to put in IJ  . I'm guessing that they will be overjoyed with the possibilities since CP takes up about 100% of the land it owns.

It was necessary to remove that ride. Get over it people, old rides need to go eventually. As much as I would hate to see rides go, there comes a time when they need to go.

Also, its 1/2 the land, not 1/3

And the other half is all hills, good luck expanding back there. Trust me, there are reasons the park hasn't expanded out there yet, and it's because of how difficult expansion out there would be.

Well, its not all hills. There is some land behind Son of Beast that is relatively flat. But part of KI`s problem, is they have essentially boxed themselves in from most of their undeveloped land. They still have some undeveloped land that is accessible for a flat ride or two. The old Salt Water Circus location that is just currently grass. Also, I`m sure that the old Flight Commander site could be more appealing if it had a flat ride there than the pay as you play Eurobungee attraction.

Ok, just to add to the rumor mill. A fellow guest (who sells houses and knows some people in the front office) said they were putting in a hyper next year.

However, they also stated that they were going to demolish the Amplitheatre and Congo Falls to make room for it. (Reason was so it could be seen from the highway.).

I quickly responded to him that if you put a 300ft roller coaster ANYWHERE on the property you could see it from the highway. From the bobcats and the clearing of land it is possible that this is what they could be doing.

We'll have to wait, see and keep our ears open.

I wouldn't really say "anywhere". Son of Beast sits in a valley and I think it's shocking how non-prevalent that massive structure is from the highway.

I would guess that Congo's ridership isn't that great. The ride isn't that high of capacity and it still rarely sees a line. I wonder how much money they make off of Timberwolf. It makes me wonder if it's worth having it.

I'm not saying that you're right, or trying to hint at anything, but the speculation is a viable option for the park.

^On Saturday, when there was a 2 1/2 hour wait approx for Face/Off, Congo Falls had about 5-10 minute wait. We all know EVERYONE would love to see a hyper of any kind go in, though I doubt it.

I could see a flat ride added for 2008, we all know KI needs more flats. Who knows, we may get our 15th coaster. Hopefully we won't have to wait till February of 08 to find out.

If it's a hyper coaster, I'd imagine they would have to start building it sooner then that. But I'm not a roller coaster building expert.

So, the qualifications for a Hyper Coaster. I know the 200 feet. But is there a speed it needs it hit?

Usually over 70 MPH. SOB I guess could be a Wooden Hyper Coaster, being over 200 feet tall, and 78 MPH.

I don't know about the hyper coaster, i mean i want to belive it but we just got Firehawk. Im thinking of expanding Coney Mall and making X-Base and getting a few flat rides and stuff, now in 2009...

It's about a 50-50 chance, well just have to see what happens.

While I really doubt the idea of a hyper coaster next year, anything is possible. If we did get a hyper coaster, I think it would be awesome for it to have huge airtime, maybe even record air time. Also if this rumor was true, wouldn't the demolishion of Congo Falls/ Timberwolf start soon?
