Creed Bratton Posted March 28, 2016 Posted March 28, 2016 Thank you for posting this! I legit was about to post it on another thread! 4 Quote
Melody Posted March 28, 2016 Author Posted March 28, 2016 I've been waiting for the official announcement for weeks. I even tweeted them about it last week. I figured it would be that night... but I had to make sure to request off work in time! 4 Quote
The Interpreter Posted March 28, 2016 Posted March 28, 2016 Mr. Slade would have wanted them to mention his publication and the name of that kids area award... 2 Quote
BeeastFarmer Posted March 28, 2016 Posted March 28, 2016 So it's only for folks who renewed, but not new passholders who purchased, by Nov 1? Shucky darn, I wanted to take my niece. As it is, it will be a short visit for me, since I have to work at 7am on Saturday the 16th. 2 Quote
Creed Bratton Posted March 28, 2016 Posted March 28, 2016 Yup :/ I'm just glad I renewed early. I usually wait lol. 3 Quote
PKIVortex Posted March 28, 2016 Posted March 28, 2016 Can't go anyway, but that's okay we renewed in time but I can wait another day. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk 2 Quote
dare-to-fly Posted March 28, 2016 Posted March 28, 2016 I love that they open at 5 on that day. I wrap up my day of teaching at 3:35...what a great way to spend an evening after school! 8 Quote
BoddaH1994 Posted March 28, 2016 Posted March 28, 2016 I can't get to the official release on mobile to read the whole thing. (Ready to fix that yet, KI?) But for those of you reading the actual release, are they not doing dollar deals that day like last year? 2 Quote
malem Posted March 28, 2016 Posted March 28, 2016 ^ Mobile-fied link for the convenience of ~60% of us: https://www.visitkingsisland.com/events/things-to-do/events-and-promotions/Gold-and-Platinum-Pass-Exclusive-Preview-Night?mobile=0 No mention of dollar deals on the event page as of right now. 4 Quote
flightoffear1996 Posted March 28, 2016 Posted March 28, 2016 We purchased "new" passes last year but didnt renew. Would we still be able to go? Quote
malem Posted March 28, 2016 Posted March 28, 2016 If you purchased a new pass last fall, it would not be valid for the preview night because it wasn't a renewal. This preview event is for 2015 gold & platinum passholders who renewed for 2016 before the fall deadline. 3 Quote
gforce1994 Posted March 28, 2016 Posted March 28, 2016 Anyway, it's going to be better to attend KI's pass preview night than CP, since at CP, they have the pass preview as well as the OSU day crowds, so if you want to ride Valravn, you may be out of luck. However, isn't the preview day for the Waterpark the same day as Coasterstock? 1 Quote

jdf21972 Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 Big question is that will the Dining Plan be available to use Preview Night or not ? Does anyone from last year remember if they were successful in using it at the park for the preview event ? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1 Quote

Gannersdaddy Posted March 30, 2016 Posted March 30, 2016 Awesome! I had already put in for half a day vacation and was starting to get antsy to see it announced. I think we will try to get there a early to see how the new entrance works out. 4 Quote
Hoeter Posted March 30, 2016 Posted March 30, 2016 Half day was requested back in January for this and it's been approved! See you two weeks from Friday! 5 Quote

dragsterguy21 Posted April 1, 2016 Posted April 1, 2016 I renewed my Cedar Point platinum pass in October so would I be able to attend? I'm assuming I could since its a Cedar Fair pass. Quote
APE Posted April 1, 2016 Posted April 1, 2016 I am sad i am not allowed to attend because my passes are considered new and not renewal. yeah yeah, i get it and i get the rules. We had to take a season off because the wife was pregnant. Quote

As long as you registered by the deadline, you should be good. You can always contact the park for further verification. 1 Quote
aandjgoods Posted April 1, 2016 Posted April 1, 2016 I renewed my Cedar Point platinum pass in October so would I be able to attend? I'm assuming I could since its a Cedar Fair pass. I renewed my 2014 Goldpass to a 2015 Platinum pass last year and went to Carrowinds during spring break. Since I had a KI Goldpass they had to give me a Carrowinds Platinum pass. Keep in mind that I specifically renewed through KI as my home park. When I got to preview day last year the lady at guest services almost denied me entrance because she said Carowinds changed themselves over tomy home park. I had to do a lot of pleading, and show my confirmation number to emphasize that I was eligible for the event, before she let me in. Just be wary, they have very specific requirements. 2 Quote
malem Posted April 1, 2016 Posted April 1, 2016 ^ Last year, the park stated that guests who renewed a platinum pass at another Cedar Fair park before the deadline were eligible, though such guests were advised that they might have to get their pass checked by Guest Services. Having a copy of your receipt is very helpful if there's ever a problem with your pass; some guests with such issues & no receipt have had to wait while Guest Services calls their home park on the phone. 1 Quote
The Interpreter Posted April 1, 2016 Posted April 1, 2016 And heaven help you if that park isn't open yet. Having a receipt may not be any help at all. You may, in fact, be denied entry if your home park isn't open yet. Don't ask me how I know this. Terp -- who has NEVER had any issue with a SIX, Busch, Dollywood or Paramount Parks pass. 3 Quote
BeeastFarmer Posted April 1, 2016 Posted April 1, 2016 Last year, they didn't scan my gold card. They just looked at it and waved me in. There was no one at the toll booths either. Heck, I could have parked in preferred parking as there was no attendant and only about 5 cars parked there. 3 Quote
electricsun Posted April 1, 2016 Posted April 1, 2016 I was planning on going but I now have to travel for work. I don't have the schedule yet but knowing the location, likely schedule, and the drive time back to Columbus and then home to clean-up and then to KI...the logistics aren't in my favor. I'm not sure if one of my team members can take my Friday. If so, I'll be there. If not, I'll likely visit KI in May. 1 Quote
