  1. I would have liked to have seen these new tiers introduced last fall so people could have an option to get one of these new upgrades instead of a season pass. I think the season pass is still less but maybe for 2019 prices won't be as low (I paid $67 for a gold pass last September). I agree not having to get to the park to process the pass is good. I didn't like I only had less than 2 months from when I bought the 2018 pass over Labor Day weekend to process the pass in order to get the free gold pass upgrade.
  2. I wouldn't mind seeing a GCI, those rumors have been around since 2007 and it would be nice to finally have a new wooden coaster after Hercules was removed. I also would like to see Kanonen added if not the GCI since there are rumors about that ride being relocated. I just hope a new coaster is added soon. Other than Talon and Steel Force, I am kind of tired of the rest of the coasters in the park.
  3. 1. Raptor 2. Banshee 3. Montu 4. Talon 5. Dueling Dragons Fire 6. Dueling Dragons Ice 7. Silver Bullet 8. Great Bear 9. Batman The Ride (Great Adventure)
  4. It looks like Stinger won't be going to another Cedar Fair park: http://www.amusement-rides.com/en/product/suspended-boomerang-coaster The listing has photos taken from RCDB when the coaster was at Great America and Dorney.
  5. This is probably the first time I have been happy to see a coaster removed. I was against the park getting the coaster after all the issues it had at Great America, most specifically when the coaster got stuck with riders for 5 hours. The problems were supposedly fixed when the coaster went to Dorney but it continued to have problem after problem, either valleying, getting stuck with riders for 90 minutes and the opening day issue in 2014 where hydraulic fluid got on riders and was closed the entire season, similar to the what happened with Two Face at Six Flags America. I only rode Stinger once after 2013 because it just wasn't fun to ride a coaster and worry about being stuck for an hour or more. I am hoping there will be a new coaster in 2019 even though I am not expecting it.
  6. Diamondback although Banshee is a close 2nd.
  7. I wouldn't care if anymore aren't built but I want the current versions to stay (or at least at parks like Magic Mountain and Great Adventure that already have a floorless coaster) since they are a unique way to ride a coaster.
  8. It's a tough choice for me, I looked at my top 10 steel coaster list: 1. Millennium Force2. Nitro3. Diamondback4. Raptor5. Banshee6. Maverick7. Montu8. Talon9. Dueling Dragons: Fire10. Dueling Dragons: Ice 8 B&M coasters vs 2 Intamin coasters, even if I add in El Toro since it would make my top 10 combined wood and steel, it is still 8 vs 3 so I have to go with B&M.
  9. Bowler Roller is one of my favorite skill games. I saw it at both Knoebels and Hershey this year although the not in the arcade. At Knoebels, it is only $0.25 to play.
  10. Great Adventure actually has a really good weather policy. Kingda Ka will close in anything more than light rain but it takes really heavy rain or thunder and lightning to shut almost everything else down. I know it won't apply that time of year but they are also one of the few parks to not care about temperature for running coasters. Last year Nitro ran in early January with it under 30 degrees out. If you go on a weekday in early June, by 4 or 5 when the school trips leave, it should be walk ons the final 3 or 4 hours the park is open but even during the day, it won't be that crowded. I still haven't tried Laff Trakk yet. I was there on Sunday and everything was a walk on - 10 minute wait except Laff Trakk that was 45 minutes, I would suggest riding it at opening or closing since it seems like the line is never short. The best Whip out of those parks is I think at Knoebels. Hershey's is bad with the concrete floor making it rough. Dorney's is ok but the cycle is short and it takes forever to load the ride now that the single ride operator has to check each seatbelt and wrap it around the lap bar and tighten the belt. It took almost 10 minutes per cycle to load and run the ride on a trip to the park earlier this year. Knoebels has the same version as Dorney but not seatbelts and a much longer ride cycle. Hopefully Impulse will be running 2 trains more next year. It ran 1 train a lot this year that makes the wait really slow. Knoebels also has the best Flying Scooters I have tried, so easy to snap and a long cycle.
  11. As much as I hate seeing people cut in line, I never say anything because of the chance of something like this happening. I'd rather wait an extra minute or two in line.
  12. I think something similar happened to Kingda Ka a few weeks after opening and it was closed for around 3 months after that.
  13. No new ride or slide for Dorney. I wasn't expecting a new coaster but was hoping there would be something new
  14. You were exactly right, it is $499 for Kings Island for 2018. https://www.visitkingsisland.com/tickets-passes/fast-lane
  15. This was a much needed addition. The Boardwalk only has 6 slides (not counting any in the play structure or kids area) and can get long lines even on slow days and next year will be the first time I visit the water park there in almost 10 years.
  16. Thunder Run at Canada's Wonderland had it last year.
  17. Canada's Wonderland now has All Season Fast Lane Plus for $499. https://www.canadaswonderland.com/tickets-passes/fast-lane I'm kind of surprised that the price is so much more than what the other Cedar Fair parks were charging especially since it is now 2 months into the season. $99 was probably too inexpensive for a park like Carowinds or Kings Dominion since those parks sold out so fast but $499 seems like a lot even for a full season for a park that gets large crowds frequently.
  18. Maybe Magic Mountain so they can promote it as the park's 20th coaster, since Six Flags already considers the Larson Loops coasters.
  19. Six Flags uses headsets that aren't attached to the train. Other parks like Sea World and Alton Towers have them attached to the train. I like Six Flags' method better because it still leaves the front row open for non VR users.
  20. I voted no, it really hurts capacity with up to 10 minutes to dispatch a coaster train and for outdoor coasters, it is no fun sitting on a brake run in hot weather with a phone strapped to your face. If it was going to be added to a coaster, I think Racer would be the best choice with 1 side for VR and 1 for regular operation that way anyone who doesn't want the VR, won't be stuck in a slower moving line and can ride with a normal wait time.
  21. That is one of my main annoyances about some parks, why should I have to wait in a longer line just because I purposely chose to go on a slower day? I was at Hersheypark almost 2 weeks ago and it annoyed me even though it wasn't that crowded, rows on some coasters were chained off so the ride operators wouldn't have to constantly check the rows (I know they used to do this because of their Fast Track system but that changed this year where Fast Track merges before the station) even with some lines at the coasters. Other rides like Storm Runner had 1 train running with a 30 minute line most of the day.
  22. I prefer Disney Land over Disney World. There are only 2 parks but those 2 parks have more rides combined than the 4 parks at Disney World and there are a lot of great rides that are either no longer at Disney World or were never at Disney World. Most of the time, when both parks have the same rides, I found the Disney Land version of the ride to be much better such as Pirates of the Caribbean and Space Mountain. Disney Land also has a night parade and fireworks viewing is much better with the projections not just on the castle but also on the Matterhorn and It's A Small World compared to everyone crowding in front of the castle in Disney World. I agree the on site hotels at Disney Land are expensive, we stayed at a Residence Inn a couple of miles from the parks for around $130 a night last year. We were considering staying 1 night at the Disney Land hotel but at around $500, that wasn't happening. I also like the old style Fast Pass system at Disney Land better. It's nice not having to plan 30 or 60 days ahead where I am going to be at the park to ride in the Fast Pass window and having to book dining reservations at Disney World 180 days out for the more popular restaurants can be annoying. Also there is no tier for Fast Pass at Disney Land. It's frustrating that at a park like Hollywood Studios with only 5 rides, you can only get 1 Fast Pass for either Rock N Roller Coaster, Toy Story Mania and The Great Movie ride or only 1 of the 2 rides in Pandora at Animal Kingdom. Not everything on Fast Pass also helps lines move much faster at Disney Land. Using Pirates as an example, at Disney World, the line can be 30 - 45 minutes because Fast Pass now takes so much of the available rides. At Disney Land there was a long line that never stopped moving and it took less than 10 minutes. Even less popular rides like Journey Into Imagination can now get 25 - 40 minute waits in the middle of the day when before they were on Fast Pass, they were usually walk ons on all but the busiest days. At Disney Land, with the less popular rides standby only, they still get shorter waits compared to the same rides at Disney World.
  23. I am hoping they will temporary use the single rider line for a non VR line so those not wanting VR won't have to wait in a long line. I might try VR once but otherwise would rather not use it since the view at the top is great. Unless it is really cloudy, most days you can see Philadelphia from the top of the tower.
  24. California's Great America- Gold Striker Canada's Wonderland- Vortex, Backlot Stunt Coaster Carowinds- Fury 325 Cedar Point- Millennium Force, Maverick, Gatekeeper Dorney Park- Possessed, Steel Force Kings Dominion- Dominator, Flight of Fear, Avalanche Kings Island- The Beast, Diamondback, Banshee Knott's Berry Farm- Xcelerator, Ghost Rider, Montezooma's Revenge Michigan's Adventure- Shivering Timbers Valley Fair!- Excalibur, Mad Mouse World's of Fun- Spinning Dragons I tried not to repeat any identical coaster types of else I would have added Talon, Patriot (Great America), Afterburn, Intimidator (Carowinds), Prowler, Renegade and Leviathan
  25. Wouldn't they close the line and just not let anyone else in but allow those already in line to ride?
