  1. Saw this post on Facebook. Looks to be drone shots of them destroying the pool. I do hope they save moonlight gardens. Had my first dance and real kiss there. https://www.facebook.com/share/p/SYPvJue5rPaoR9mj/?mibextid=WC7FNe
  2. That’s a different argument and one I can understand. The person I was replying to was implying (the way I read it) that it hasn’t been popular in a long time. I personally think parks need some IP. Would I love to see HB back? Yes but that’s not realistic. Looney Tunes and DC would fit better in kid land than Peanuts (talk about dated). but if you do IP well (and not just slap paint but done well think Original Top Gun) then I’m all for it.
  3. The Lebron one. The one that is on HBO Max featuring video game characters. as for the big three, you’ve got two cartoons out right now doing the cradle to adulthood (bat wheels and teen titans go). You’ve got the new CW Superman show in it’s like 5th season. Plus movies (the super pet movie, the live actions, etc) the conversation isn’t “is spiderman more popular”, he’s always been. But to say DC is not popular is arguing in bad faith. Just because you don’t watch doesn’t mean there isn’t shows out there.
  4. I mean Looney tunes has a newish show on HBO max (ended last fall?) and tiny tunes just came back on air plus my kids and their friends watched the heck out of space jam…. My kids are 10, 7, 3…. Are they as famous as they were? No. But outside of the peanuts movie every now and then and the holiday specials my kids don’t seek out Peanuts … also are we kidding on the DC ip? Every kid knows the big 3
  5. Days like today I miss terp and what they would have brought to this discussion. I hope they bring the best from both companies. I can only imagine what a FUN mentality could do with IP from SIX. But if it’s SIX with FUN IP I worry. do we need to get our last rides of Beast and Racer in?
  6. I don’t want to be a wet blanket on this and I’m excited the kids area gets some love (having multiple kids 10 and under makes me living in that area a lot), but….. my only negative is that this is the third coaster in that area with super limited capacity. Surf Dog, former Reptar, and this. While great family coasters to build up to bigger ones, I just wish they had added one with a bit more “people” eating capabilities. but also how great that the kids area will have 4 great coasters for kids to build and learn there riding on
  7. The Jim Hill podcasts really broke down the cost and the issues with this hotel recently. Basically too expensive for die hard Star Wars fans to do twice and not luxuries enough for the rich to do twice. Which then meant a lot of folks never wanted to repeat the adventure. the hotel was small (100 rooms) and the staff/story was huge. This means the cost was going to be very high. with the 300 million tax cut they’re going to get for depreciation this year, I don’t expect anything to come if it for a few years -shark is not a tax lawyer
  8. I thought I was losing my mind as the only one who remembered this. wasn’t this designed with the idea of going around the Animal Park. That’s why it’s so far away from the main pad. Ehhhh this was designed by the previous owners and Paramount just slapped the name on. Did the park ever say why Vortex came down?
  9. This is one of the great fears when a company owns multiple parks and “your” park is not the crown jewel park. many on here stated CF would need money in the next few years. What’s next? Look at all the fun we are having
  10. All theory at this point. But I wonder if testing would miss the off chance the OTSR are not fully down as they should or a very different shaped person riding etc.
  11. I went back to the video Online (whole video not just horrific accident). The ride op is saying it’s 430 feet tall and comes down at 75 MPH and then stops. At the end (after the accident) a lady comes running up saying are you sure you checked him, unsure if it’s to the worker or the other people on the ride. Just friggin horrific. Also it looks like from your description that is what happened and just slipped out the bottom between the gap. im a bigger guy and I wonder if the should restraints came down on me how much gap would be at the bottom.
  12. Same here. That’s how I found out I think it may be a bit of shock where your brain doesn’t know how to process the horrific thing you just saw and what to do.
  13. Holy smokes. Don’t watch the video (floating around the internet) what a terrible tragedy. https://apnews.com/article/florida-orlando-d03a753b6ac928a86222c0f3b1134619?utm_campaign=SocialFlow&utm_source=Twitter&utm_medium=AP
  14. Not sure if I should just open a new topic but hey let’s resurrect a dead thread. On Amazon a documentary called “Closed for the Storm” is a history of Jazzland/Six Flags.
  15. Because that’s tax dollars that’s not going into the towns that’s coney is part of. Ultimately that’s the reason. Money money money. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
