Maybe you do already, but I'm guessing not from this statement so - One day, if you end up with kids, you'll know the answer to this question. It is quite easy for even responsible and protective parents to lose track of a well behaved child - as for the yelling, you'd be doing it also as it is quite the scary experience.4 points

Cobra - why ask? It's BB1, who likes to talk in the third person and must post in every thread to raise his post count whether he ha something of value to add or not.3 points

Time to head into the park! I don’t think it’s possible for any Kings Island fanboy not to snap a photo of the tower & the fountain every time they are at the park. I do like this shot. Walking through the park empty is STILL something that I enjoy. (I’ll take “Things most park employees don’t say” for $500 Alex.) We arrive at our destination! Now, it was time for the official group photo. This year I must admit that I was/am disappointed in Don. SURELY by now he knows how I feel about having my picture taken…and that it ain’t gonna happen willingly…I asked him if we had to go through the charade of me getting in the photo even though I wouldn’t be seen…and he STILL told me to “get in there”! SO…instead of me being able to take some nice group shots also, here is the view I had while sitting down behind the crowd…not quite the Kodak moment I would have preffered: (I did cheer during the video sequence though.) Being in the back of the crowd DID have one advantage though…I was first into the station. I had my choice of seats…I chose the very back seat…something after 5 rides I began to regret. Everyone picks a seat for the first train out. The Racer’s crew seemed to be just as happy to be there as we were…so I’m guessing that they are all pretty good actors. I was glad to see that both Savannah & John were here again for the event. This year I got super lucky…and super smart! Last year, since I never got off the coaster I wasn’t able to get hardly any pictures of everyone else…this year I handed my camera to one of The Racer’s crew members and asked them if they would mind taking pictures. Throughout the day I noticed different crew members picking up my camera and taking pictures. SO, a really big thanks goes out to all of them for taking most of these photos…if it weren’t for them this trip report would not only be boring…but I personally would not have gotten so many great shots to remember this event…thank you, thank you, thank you… Jonathan, this is the downside of sitting with me when your picture is taken…since your photo came out so good I thought you deserved to see it…I just had to do a little “creative” editing. I suspect Cody took quite a few of the shots that you are seeing…but obviously not this one.3 points

Too bad only one of you is SBNO. Really? Isn't this more than a little harsh and at least borderline cyber-bullying? I'm not saying that what Mccarthy said is true or not true but there's no need to attack in such a manner.2 points

I emailed Cedar Fair, They told me that for 2013 KI will be unveiling the first ever Wing Rider Dueling Ride. It will be the longest steel coasters and feature 8 inversions and 2 "Key Hole" elements. I have no reason to lie, so I'm not going to post the email. And if you don't like it, well then you can just wait till they tell everyone.2 points

Where has the time gone…it doesn’t seem like it has been a year since I wrote my last Coasting For Kids trip report. (What a drag it is getting old…but I am fighting it!) I was thrilled when it was announced that Cedar Fair & Give Kids The World would be once again give me the chance to marathon The Racer AND help a VERY worthy cause. (And in my opinion those are getting harder and harder to find.) Just like last year I signed up during the first week that this event was announced to make sure I had my spot reserved…and just like last year I was/am amazed that it didn’t sell out. All that I can say that if you had the means & opportunity to attend this event (And the stamina.) you were a fool to have missed it! A better time at the park can not be had…it is as if all the planets align to let the real coaster enthusiast in you come out, all the while being surrounded by like-minded fanboys who not only do not ridicule your behavior, they join in! Be forewarned, not only am I going to be posting over 80 photos of the event..the quality is NOT great. I REALLY have to get a new new camera, I bought my most recent one last year and I STILL am not happy with it! ALSO, since I am the king of not wanting my picture taken/posted, if you see a picture of yourself that I have posted that you don't like just PM me and I will remove it! For posterity, here is a screen grab of the event: And just like last year KIC had an “official” team! I still do not all of who was who…but there’s always next year! For me, this year’s event began just like last year…me walking to the park from my room at the Kings Island Resort across the street. (I could have driven…but I love walking across the empty parking lot looking around.) It’s about 7 AM…here comes the sun. Quality over quantity, I love the simplicity of this sign. Mr. Don Helbig & his assistants wait to check the riders in. After signing in you receive a cool free t-shirt to wear during the event! The crowd is gathering. What is cool for me this year is that unlike last I hardly knew anyone…this year I recognize quite a few familiar faces. A couple of “fashionably late” arrivals…Indyguy4KI/Brad & Avatar/Jesse. The ultimate Fast Lanes. Don officially welcomes us, and thanks us all for our participation. “Let’s bump up the lights and see if anyone has any questions”…let’s see how many people get that reference!1 point

The best way to keep your hard earned money on these games is not to play them in the first place. The prize you have won ended up costing you more than the prize is worth. Either buy a stuffed animal direct or use your money to buy food. At least with the food, you will either enjoy it or get heart burn, but you got something for your money.1 point

I have actually seen a merry go round with live ponies and an organ grinder. At The State Fair of West Virginia in Lewisburg. Where else?1 point

That may have been true in September and October last year, but I'm pretty sure both were available this spring.1 point

ERT did not start on the DB yesterday until 9:40 or so. Got one ride in before the park opened, as we ditched it for Surf Dog.1 point

Civility spreads. So does its opposite. How is It all good when other users are hurt? Or younger users, who see you as a role model, model what they see as flaming? How can you call a topic ignorant and credibly claim you weren't flaming the topic's original poster? How is it all good or the good old days because three people were smoking? People here can only judge us by the words we write, unless they know us in the real world. I don't get it. I seek to understand. EDIT: Now he's edited his post.1 point

Yeah, I always hate to say Kings Island isn't my favorite park, because it is my home park, but Holiday World is just awesome. The Kochs do so well running it. I remember when I went (two years ago. I miss it!) there was an employee washing a window and while she was doing it she waved and smiled at everyone that passed her. I also did not find one piece of trash on the ground. That aside, they do have awesome roller coasters and the best waterpark I've been to!1 point

^I think Cobra wants to know how they execute differently, rather than a vague post.1 point

Trust me, it is easy for a child to "slip" away, I have had it happen before (but not at an amusement park). But it is also why I always on the youngest two, put the kid track wristbands on them, as the oldest two can give out their phone numbers. It is one of the reasons I have always been so hesitant to take 4 children (youngest just turned 2, eldest just turned 9) by myself to KI. All it would take would be for me to be putting the 2 year old in the stroller and I can see my 4 year old not waiting to wait to go to the ride a few feet away and running ahead and getting mixed up in the ride line to where I wouldn't be able to see her. The other biggest problem is that people are inconsiderate and don't care they walk between a parent and their children. I have had it happen at the store and the park. I will have my kids walking with me while pushing a stroller or shopping cart, and people will just step between you and your child because they don't want to wait for you to pass through. There have been times I have had to physically stop and wait for the person to traverse the path in front of me, separating me from one of my kids because they were walking slightly in front of (ie maybe 1-2 feet) of the stroller. Now they have gotten to be about 8-10 feet away and depending upon how many people are cutting through, might even loose visual contact for a second or two.1 point

Went yesterday and rode The Beast at night. On the second lift, they play the first lift's spiel in addition to the Lost score. Cresting the top of Lift 2, a ride op came over the speaker system. "Remain seated throughout the entire ride. Please keep ha-- EVERYBODY CLAP YOUR HANDS!" Last year on Backlot, at the MCBR, a ride op came over the speaker system while the helicopter was shooting at us, voicing over the machine gun sound effects with a "Pew pew pew pew!" similar to a faux bullet sound.1 point

Whatever the future plans might be with SOB, if they decide to replace it with a new roller coaster, nothing short of another record breaking wooden coaster will do.1 point

Maybe if he posts his social security number and birth date they might be able to assist him. Maybe his credit card number if he used it to purchase items at the park.1 point
