  1. ^ I was trying to catch it for him, assuming it would land nearby. Instead, I watched it fly down Coney Mall and eventually disappear somewhere over The Racer. We really need to come up with something better than adhesive name tags for next time. Glad you also enjoyed the meet-up! I definitely plan to come to another (and hopefully more) next year, assuming I'm within driving range of Cincinnati of course.

  2. I loved it when jcgoble and malem went running through the park trying to chase down ohiocolts' nametag when it flew off on the ride! It was hilarious! It was certainly a fun day at the park, I'm glad I got to share it with everyone in the group. Can't wait to do it again next year and hopefully more often.

  5. Well, I'm really late to this thread, but at least I now know who to blame for dumping a bucket of water on me that day.

  7. Don I was just wondering on how long it would be on getting the plaque and everything and if you knew what part of the track they hope to make them with?

  8. Why do we park on driveways and drive on parkways?

  9. The access road isn't used anymore as WindSeeker blocked it off and you can't access it during park hours. And storage? yeah for trashcans in the winter and perhaps a Coney Mall picnic lol.

  11. It has been reported that Jeffrey Siebert, former Kings Island Marketing Communications (PublicRelations) Manager of (Paramount's) Kings Island, is leaving his role as Schlitterbahn's Corportate Communications Manager and will take on the role of Marketing Manager at Six Flags Fiesta Texas. We, here at KICentral, wish Jeffrey the best in his new role!

  20. A path full of entertainment is only half as long as a barren parking lot of equal length, to the mind's eye. With things to see and places to stop, and rides, I promise you, you would think the path quite short. (And a Wild Mouse would be so cool.)

  21. Worlds of Fun doesn't have a wild mouse either. Well, it doesn't if you don't count this:

  24. Nope. I was ducking from the cameras just about the entire time I was with them. I really hate pictures. The photos malem got of me were lucky. The only ones I allowed others to take were the ones taken by Charlie Gold and the group photo.

  25. Sounds like a great addition to me. Looks like the Ouimet era is finally upon us. I'm crossing my fingers that a set of flying scooters could come our way, too. I've mentioned before how I'd love to see even the Larson model at KI. They aren't the same as our old Flying Eagles, but they're still very fun in their own respect. They could place them somewhere along the path between BLSC and the Eiffel Tower (though obviously not in a way that would require the floral clock to be removed.) Has anyone heard if the coaster is the standard Mack wild mouse layout?

  26. That audio track makes me ponder something...if the track the ride itself "goes" on is the one that's supposed to be closed (Track 2), and Track 1 goes to Outpost 5...then if there were a track 1...(imagines Adventure Express Track 1)... Ride-Op: OK! Enjoy your ride on Adventure Express Track 1... (Train departs and goes straight for about 30 seconds, climbs a chain lift, and then stops in a familiar station...) Other Ride-Op: Welcome to Outpost 5! Enjoy your ride on Son of Beast! Or...during Haunt since SOB has been SBNO... Same thing...but when you reach station... Some Dude: Welcome to Outpost 5! Prepare to be mauled by werewolves! McSalsa: AAAAAHHHH!!! Oh, my crazy imagination...

  27. With the scale shown in that photo, it would literally be the length of Coney multiplied by 3. Thats gotta be at least half a mile. You need more paths feeding back into Coney and Action Zone. Otherwise its impractical, and stupid.

  28. I got to thinking about crowd sizes at Haunt. Granted, I haven't really seen the ride lines in the last five years since I've been working in the haunts, but hearing others' accounts of them reminded me of when I was a kid. When I was a kid, we only got to go once a year, and on those days, the lines were long. Beast had all the switchback queues open, Racer had all of it's queues open, as did Vortex, King Cobra, etc. I think our idea of "crowded" has gotten skewed over the years. Yes, those days were busy when I was a kid, but from what I understand those kinds of lines were common at the time, much more common than they are now. In recent years you could go to KI on a Sunday - Thursday and have fairly minimal waits. Perhaps this has spoiled us. We're no longer used to the long lines that were so pervasive in the '70s/'80s/early '90s. I know when to avoid going to Cedar Point, because I've heard stories of 2 to 3 hour waits for Millie, Dragster and other rides there on Saturdays during the summer. From what I understand it's quite common. I think we regular KI visitors have just become somewhat spoiled, and when we are faced with those huge crowds and long lines, we don't know how to process it and it forces some to complain. Maybe it will help if you just think of it this way... Huge crowds and long lines is just another way of bringing nostalgia back to the park! (Oh... am I a few years too late with that joke?...)

  30. ^According to your signature (You know what would make Kings Island the greatest park in the world? A whole area themed to Doctor Who ) An area of Doctor Who would make it the best park in the world.

Terp, who has a few weeks left to Ignite the Nite before his lights go out in Georgia, then onward to other...uh...district, uh, no, that isn't right, waiting on orders from headquarters (always tell the truth, people will never believe you! Back on Topic: 1 for the money, 2 for the show, 3 to get ready and 4 to go!). (Was that enough hints, or 2 much of a ...wait for it....diversion?) (Sorry, Don!)
