Cold and windy closing day in 2012. This about the same weather as opening day 2012 now that I think about it! I am hoping for a sunny warm opening day in 2013!4 points

I will NOT get exhausted before the ride starts. Just saying Then you're not putting enough effort into spinning. Tee hee! We like to go around in circles...as fast as ever we can. Do you need to sit on the bench for a while there, Terpy?4 points

The Save My Park Group said that there was supposed to be some sort of new content last week but nothing was ever posted. Things have been very active on the inside of the park. Just last week I believe the waterpark was being expected (from my viewing from outside the park). Also security is on deck right now. At night every single light is turned on inside the park. From the stations lights on Twisted Twins, all the way to the Stadium behind T2. The lights being on gives a feeling to me that the park was never closed. Also, be prepared for the news on the tax incentives in two to three weeks.3 points

I just came back from a couple of days at Silver Dollar City, and the ride is great. It isn't much more than half a minute long, but the whole ride is intense moment after another intense moment. First drop was crazy, and the rest of the ride felt like a GCI ride that was cranked up to 11. The crowds were quite heavy while I was there (Friday afternoon and Saturday morning/afternoon), and ride wait times were 45 minutes at the shortest for Outlaw Run. I heard one guy tell another guy he thought the ankle restraints hurt his shins, but otherwise all reviews and conversations were that it is phenomenal and a definite hit. I very much enjoyed it, but not my most favorite. As a comparison to SDC's twin park, I have a slight preference that Thunderhead is in the closer of the two parks.3 points

And I love the Morgan steel coaster trains a la Steel Force, Mamba, etc.2 points

I really want to know what changed at B&M in the past two or three years. Out of nowhere, they're doing all the things you'd never expect out of B&M. I like the look of the Steel Dragon trains, but I don't expect to see them on many (if any) major new B&M installations. It cuts down on capacity, which is part of the draw of B&M rides. I do wonder if any other Morgan or Arrow megacoasters will receive them. Gotta admit that I don't know if Magnum would be the same for me without the hard lapbar. (Yeah, I'm weird. ) Until I rode Nitro last summer, I thought there would be a drastic difference between the staggered trains and the 4-across. Frankly, I didn't notice that much of a difference, except that you're freer on one (or both) sides to swing your arms and legs on the staggered trains. I don't mean that cynically; it just wasn't as different as I'd expected. In other words, I don't have that much of a preference.2 points

According to RCT3, it's two corkscrews. Actually, four "large corkscrews" to be exact.2 points

Steel Dragon 2000 has received new B&Ms trains that use a new configuration. They have two rows of two seats per car but they're not staggered like Diamondback. So this leads me to ask out of B&M's three hyper coaster trains, (4-abreast like Leviathan, 2 rows staggered like Diamondback or 2 rows not staggered like Steel Dragon 2000) which one do you think is better and which would you like to see on Kings Island's next coaster? Apparently what appears to be the train started a 10-acre brush fire starting at the top of the train loop at Dollywood. It appears to be contained with no threat to structures, and it looks like it won't effect the opening for season passholders or gp this Fri/Sat. . http://www.knoxnews.com/news/2013/mar/16/emergency-crews-battle-brush-fire-at-dollywood/ I leave the park for three days and they try to set the place on fire. I know I left Dollywood, but that doesn't mean I want the park destroyed either...just one manager1 point

Those trains have leg restrains. I hope this isn't a sign of things to come.1 point

Right now I would oppose putting these new trains on an existing coaster like Mamba. I suspect it would increase the minimum rider height by 4-6 inches and reduce hourly capacity by a third.1 point

More than you might think. Making vector art look good at a very small size can be tricky.1 point

This has been brought up in the past, and I believe the park counts the two corkscrews as one.1 point

I just had an idea: what would it take to convert the new logo into a new favicon for the site? The existing one that just says "KI" on a plain background just doesn't "do it" for me, and I think the new logo might make a better favicon.1 point

That que will be cold when the wind blows off the lake in October, but shall have a nice refreshing breeze in July and August.1 point

Don't forget that the queue also goes under the station.1 point

40 days to go…we've got a biergarten, a restaurant like many have wanted for years, a 5k before the opening rope drops…and still that empty space of real estate to think about…whew, is it April yet??1 point

Here are the pictures and quotes from the blog on Cedar Point's website. I'm glad there will be true sunshades over Gatekeeper's queue, unlike Firehawk's solitary triangles that offer very little, if any, shade. Also note, there will be a gift shop at the exit of the ride.1 point

Dare-to-fly. I think we can make this happen. I used to have my friends dizzy on Der Spinner Kegger (KI's ) before the ride even started.1 point

I really believe that one day, there will be a headline somewhere ... "Two injured in spinning ride accident" because the car went flying off the ride.1 point

I was on the left hand side of the train, I touched the tips of my fingers on The Beast's tunnel. I thought that I broke a finger or two. I am 6'4" and have a long reach. Btw: it stung for 20-30 mins. I guess that I was lucky.1 point

According to the Pointbuzz offseason tour, Cedar Point's WindSeeker will have the same evacuation contraption as Knotts does. They expect it to open with the park in May. I'm going to assume Kings Island will get the same thing, but I have no idea if it will be ready or not by opening day.1 point

Are you sure that answer isn't only for Cedar Point? After all, the group there isn't Island Buzz....1 point

Hi Don, please please PLEASE tell me that the wall in the middle of the station that was removed last year is still going to be GONE. Without that wall, it was very easy to actually 'race' your friends; by that, I mean that we'd walk into the station together. My son and I would go to the blue side. My friend and his son would go to the red side, and we could easily see where we each needed to ride in order to "race". I mean, it is The Racer, and that makes the ride so much more fun...1 point

I did it and it looked like poo... so i just took leviathan's track layout, edited it and stuck it there. Oh and gave it the name Mammoth (it was all i could come up with) heres what it looks like I love how this was used for the rumor on the Save Son of Beast's facebook profile. While I would love to see a new coaster in this spot, I highly doubt the park would name it Mammoth after a park, that is not in the Cedar Fair chain, within 4 hours has a ride named Mammoth.1 point

Well if Dick was still in office it wouldn't be allowed because it would take away the Longest Steel roller coaster in North America record away from Millennium1 point

Well, since we're out of pics, I guess the best we could do is try to get 2011 to look like 1974....1 point
