For those waiting for when we'll announce what we're building for the future, you might want to grab yourself a Snickers bar. It's going to be awhile. We still have the majority of the 2013 season in front of us. Enjoy it before it passes you by!35 points

Don: Here eat a snickers bar. KIC: Why? Don: Because you turn into trolls when you're hungry.31 points

Tuesday is shaping up to be a typical day at Kings Island, filled with lots of happy children. Park visitors might notice that some of the kids will be in wheelchairs. Some will be hooked up to oxygen, or connected to IVs. But they'll be having fun and enjoying their day at Kings Island, just like everybody else because that day, they are just like everyone else. Kings Island hosts kids with life-threatening illnesses.12 points

Mr. negativity strikes again. Sorry for being honest! You have to admit that if this is not a record breaker you will be disappointed. No I won't be disappointed at all if it isn't a record breaker. Diamondback wasn't a national record breaker and most of us here love it. Prowler at WoF wasn't a record breaker and people loved it when it opened and they still love it today. Coasters don't have to be record breakers to be enjoyable. Now go eat a Snickers!10 points

^x4 There is no reason it needs to be a record breaker. See Maverick or RVII as prime examples. And why not have fun with the speculations? If the park did not want us guessing, Don & his merry bunch would not be giving us clues. With the exception of the self proclaimed young sexy trolls, this thread is quite enjoyable.9 points

Quit saying it took 20 years for a B&M hyper. Their first hyper was in 1999, making it ten years.8 points

I just put a TV on my sink and sat in my full tub pretending I was at the event. I even got out and was happy to find my space when I returned. I didn't see one unhappy customer either. Rocked back and forth a few times to get the waves going. I for one...will be returning.8 points

I hope so, but it's a weird situation. On one hand I want them to build the best ride I've ever ridden, but on the other hand, I don't want to have to wait 6 hours everytime I want to ride it. First world problems.7 points

I'm just amazed that they actually used KI's own rides in the commercial for once.6 points

I suppose my first ride was the year it opened. I remember the long lines thru the woods and the theming that was well done. I still get a feeling of nervousness each time I crest the lift hill and the walkway beneath you dissapears. Its a feeling I don't get on FAAC or Invertigo (the only suspended/inverted coasters I've ridden). I have not ridden it this year yet, I suspect my 1st ride will be w/ my soon to be 5 year old who is "this...." close to reaching 48" (perhaps this is the week). I know he's going to love it, due to its location, its the only ride in the park he doesn't have a good handle of. Of course, we'll see who his enthusiasim last once he's one a coaster larger than FAAC, he's yet to get on a ride in the park that's scared of (though you could tell that the back seat on viking fury made him a little nervous at the begining of last season, no problems this season); then again, he doesn't think its fair he's going to have to wait another year or two to grow enough to get on Diamondback.6 points

Someone could see Don at Mickey D's, and he could ask for a Filet-O'-Fish while carrying in a Snicker's bar, and someone here would claim it was a harbinger of 2014.5 points

Mr. negativity strikes again. Sorry for being honest! You have to admit that if this is not a record breaker you will be disappointed. I think what Young Stud is trying to say is that there are some people who won't be happy if it turns out this coaster isn't a record breaker. I happen to agree with him this time. A lot of people want a giga coaster. If it's not a giga, they'll be disappointed. Other people want an invert. It's it's not a record-breaking invert, they'll be disappointed. Some people want a ride like Verbolten. If we don't get that, they'll be upset. It's true. But Young Stud is not saying it must be a record breaker in order for him to be happy. Whether you think the guy's a troll or not, at least be honest and don't twist his words. I feel like SNL based their Debby Downer skit off of you. Im not trying to be rude but your not making much sense. If you don't like this thread, then you can just not click on it. Im sure everybody wants you to enjoy this site, but if you don't like this thread then don't click on it! You've obviously misunderstood my point. I'm not trying to rain on everyone's "Let's guess the coaster" party. I myself have played the guessing game in this thread. My comments were directed toward those who don't understand why KI can't announce the ride now. Don has already said it will be a while before an announcement is made, and it reminded me of a time in my childhood when I would always want to know things "now now now". I tried posting that little bit from my past as a way of helping people understand that if you simply stop focusing on it, and take your mind off of it, then it won't be long before the moment arrives. Terp liked what I said...which means he understood the point I was making. That's good enough for me. You, on the other hand, are free to put me on your "Ignore" list if my posts bother you. Inverts were meant for the 90s...? Is that why they've built incredible inverts like OzIris, Black Mamba, and Patriot since 2006? If we use your logic to determine what a park should build, then technically we never should have gotten Diamondback...because, after all, hypers were so 90s. In fact, the first one was built in 1989. It took KI 20 years to get a steel hyper.5 points

I know I havnt been on here long, so my opinion might not matter. I am just glad they are building something. it looks a coaster and that will never be a disapointing thing.5 points

Here's a novel idea: How about we not worry about it, and let the park announce it when they decide to announce it? We're getting so caught up in silly stuff right now. It's not even the end of June, there is no steel onsite, the footers aren't even finished being poured, they're still moving dirt around...we don't even know the name for sure (and some of us *coughmecough* are going to really be disappointed if it's "Banshee")... ...and everyone is acting like a little kid who can't wait until Christmas morning. Be patient. Wishing they would go ahead and announce it isn't going to make them do it.5 points

Just a thought.... If it is indeed a paranormal theme then wouldn't it make sense to announce on September the 13th?! Aka Friday the thirteenth..... 'No camping'? OMG I THINK I DECODED SOMETHING5 points

The Racer is named because it…races. The Beast was named because the project became a "beast" (at least I think I read that). Gatekeeper is the keeper of the front gate at CP. Should this new ride be called "Bad Memory Eraser"?5 points

Snicker's. The Official Candy Bar of Six Flags Theme Parks and Official Sponsor of Fright Fest, for 2013 and several past years. Hmmm. Just a message? Or a message? Terp, snickering! (Hi, Don!...what a...diversion)5 points

You've also been a member for over a year and have learned how to post correctly. This is what annoys me about KIC is that as soon as a newbie posts something a little outrageous everyone pounces on them claiming "SOURCE SOURCE SOURCE" when we all know they don't have one. Seriously guys, give them some slack. I guarantee 95% of the posters on here went through a phase where they posted ridiculous things (myself definitely included) but those posters turned out to be some of the most valued people in the community.5 points

At least it will have a name... After "Flight Deck, Drop Tower, and Backlot Stunt Coaster," I was beginning to wonder just how hard it really was to get an imaginative moniker for new attractions...5 points

Sounds like a good idea, very poorly executed. Either open up the entire pool, or don't have it at all.5 points

^Hope that pool was heavily sanitized after the event. Just thinking of the number of people who didn't want to get out to use the restroom due to the risk of not being able to get back into the wave pool.5 points

Wow.. I wasn't expecting to feel old today. I remember riding Flight Deck the year it opened; I was terrified of the stairs/walkways but loved coasters and theming. Two rides so far this season, hoping to get at least a few more in. 20 great years and counting...4 points

How long after this future ride is announced and constructed and the first rides are given before a new thread is created asking, "when are we getting a new ride?" How soon will a decoding thread like this is created asking about new construction that is being observed? Didn't we ask the same thing before Diamondback was constructed? I am waiting for whatever ride is announced to be so different from what is being discussed and speculated here.4 points

This is in fact the 'Starting to Decode 2014' forum isn't it?! Decoding clues like 'no camping' or probable announcement dates doesn't seem silly to me. I'm pretty sure you've been a kid trying to tear off the wrapping as well or you wouldn't be in this forum.4 points

Top Gun ... I don't see that ride on the 2013 park guide & map. I love this!4 points

Fight Deck was the first ride to ever make me nauseous (it got me right at the end on the brakes... ooooh the swaying...). But thanks to Flight Deck, I realized a little nausea isn't the worst thing in the world, and I've been ridin' coasters ever since. Thanks for the 20 years!4 points

On what basis do you assert they should know - simply because they are laboring in the hot sun all day? That doesn't mean anything. They're simply doing their jobs, which is to pour concrete footers at specific coordinates on the ground. Generally speaking, they're going to have a complete set of site and foundation drawings on which to bid the job, I doubt they took on the job as a T and M project. They should know the layout fairly well. They may not know the type of coaster or the elements, but theyll have an idea of the layout and scope. At this point, odds are there is a Forman or two that have sat in a job trailer with the steel erectirs and have seen the steel drawings as well.3 points
