We did not mention all the statistics during the announcement because statistics are not what make a roller coaster great; it's the ride experience it delivers that makes it great.17 points

My best guess is that it'll be below the station much like we see on Gatekeeper. There is what appears to be a door [to the gift shop?] in the concept art of the station. The ride photo and a gift shop will be located directly below the station. The door you see in the rendering is actually the exit from the gift shop. What the rendering doesn`t show is the entrance to the ride photo, which is directly below the bump out in the station, right across from the stair, which is the exit stair. Also not pictured in the rendering, is a wheel chair elevator lift, which will be located directly to the left (in the rendering it would be behind) of the staircase. How do I know this? Well, lets just say that I have a very fun position at a local Cincinnati company. A company that was not mentioned at the announcement, but was mentioned in an article about Gatekeeper and Cedar Point. It has been tough the last couple of months, knowing but not being able to tell anything.16 points

Just because something isn't in the rendering doesn't mean it is being removed. Adventure Express for example. The opposite is also true. Just because something is in the renderings doesn't mean it will be there. All those Trees for example.14 points

I never knew how accurate the animation was. WindSeeker is at a standstill at the top in the beginning, and by the end, it hasn't moved one bit!14 points

When did the decoding thread get unlocked? I thought I clicked on the "Construction Progress" thread.12 points

Well, this truck is on its way to the construction site of the world's largest, animatronic facepalm...11 points

Some years back, I went to Media Day for Kingda Ka. I excitedly told friends at work about the coaster, including that it was the tallest, fastest coaster in the world. A young lady informed me I needed to get to Cedar Point, where the tallest, fastest coaster REALLY was. Magnum. Yes...Magnum.8 points

I'm having trouble seeing where the queue will be. there is not much room under the ride like the blueprints showed. Only time will tell. I have a bone to pick with some of you. I think it is very inconsiderate to say that this ride sucks and it's not good. CF Executives worked there butt off to try and give KI the best thing they think would go with the park. I can guarantee you they gave it their all and some of you are doing nothing but complaining, have some respect, and enjoy the construction progress!8 points

A thing of the past? That's why there have been inverts made recently (2010 and 2012). Yup a thing of the past.8 points

A well thought out, perfect addition for Kings Island. A diversion from the Son of Beast days. Not a single record JUST for the sake of records, but instead a ride where thrills, not records, are paramount. A truly magical addition--safe, reliable, high quality, high capacity ride that wisely uses the terrain and fills a hole in the park's ride line-up. Very pleased I am. And happy to watch Matt Ouimet and the Kings Island team put a new fun stamp on the Mason park.8 points

So, I excitedly reported to a friend at work about the new Banshee. I spouted off specs and superlatives like the proud KICer that I am, heralding this magnificent, new attraction that will make us all proud, and will surely bring much good to my favorite park ever. What does the guy do? I mean, of the billion possible combinations of words this guy could have pieced together into an intelligent response to my well-articulated pitch, what do you suppose he chose to say? "Well, what do you think of Cedar Point? Have you been up there at all?" rrrRRAAAaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrggggghhhhhh!!!!8 points

It's such a shame what has happened to this park that had so much potential. I wonder that if Ouimet would have already been CEO, whether Geauga Lake would have been closed. Kinzel's decision to close this park is my biggest dislike of him. Now it's just an empty, weed filled area with decrepit buildings and decaying rides. Living only 45 minutes away I wish it could have remained open. Sadly I only made one visit to the park when I was young, and the only coaster I went on (and that I was tall enough for) was the Big Dipper. This was also my first roller coaster, so I am very sentimental to this ride, and it pains me seeing it just sit there in the abandoned park. I don't even like going to Wildwater Kingdom since I can't help but look across the lake and think of everything that it could be--but probably never will be again. Anyway, here's Geuaga Lake in its former glory, an amusement park that unfortunately fell victim to the chopping block.7 points

That is one of the things I am worried about. That area is going to look like a baron wasteland If they don't plant a lot of trees.7 points

If a complete idiot chose this coaster, you are calling all Cedar Fair executives idiots (including Matt; the CEO) as they have to approve all investments for the parks within the chain. You're arguing with a bookcase. He's not going to listen.7 points

I would like to see a handful of good-ole fashioned carnival rides, something that KI is seriously lacking.7 points

Did anyone else notice that Banshee's supports match the color of Delirium's? I personally think they both go great together.6 points

Kentucky Kingdom says that they cleared this space because they needed more space for the new coaster and a few other surprises.....I believe this is the area where Road Runner Express once stood... (Photo Courtesy of the New Kentucky Kingdom)6 points

Since we are getting Banshee I wouldn't expect any major purchases by the park too soon. I would be very happy with some refreshing of areas and some more flats. As many will agree, a restroom is urgently needed in xbase.6 points

They need to give Delirium a different paint scheme. It reminds me of a preschool right now. They should tear out the giant circle design where the water tower was and replace it with a huge planter area with trees and foliage. Then they should change the bathrooms and the gift shop's paint. Rename Stunt Crew Grill and paint it and make Flight Deck, The Bat6 points

I also remember being so upset that I wasn't tall enough to ride Superman Ultimate Escape, the suspended impulse coaster. I had loved Big Dipper so much that I wanted to try the rest of the coasters, but to my despair I was too short for most of the ones I wanted to ride. I also am sentimental to the park since on that same visit I was with family from Scotland that I rarely get to see. I have good memories of going on rides with them. Probably the best was with my older cousin from Scotland who I rode the Himalaya with. We just laughed the whole time as we were pushed into each other. The more I'm talking and thinking about my short yet awesome memories at this park, the more I miss it. I just wish I couldn've spend more time there. My dream would be for it to be reopened. One can wish...6 points

Seriously? 2016? Kings Island just announced the largest single year investment in park history and people want to discuss if a coaster is coming in 2016. Topic closed.6 points

The Gatekeeper restraints are being improved. You haven't ridden with the Banshee restraints, either. There is no reason to be Mr. Negativity. Give the ride a chance. Then decide.6 points

No, that is not true. Just because a ride was not shown in the renderings, does not mean it is getting removed. Since most of Adventure Express is so low to the ground, it wouldn`t be that noticeable in the rendering. It would have cost them more money to model that for the rendering, with little extra effect. After all, the focus is on Banshee, not Adventure Express,5 points

No as steroids use is not a bad thing when used in proprer form. Usually used medically to help cancer patients. In the way Don refers to it is a proper way to describe to the audience in what to expect. Steroids are not bad, but the people who use them inappropriate are.5 points

Is stunt crew grill even like an actual open restaurant? It looks so dark and lonely when you walk by and I've never seen anyone coming out or heard of anyone eating there. Everyone goes to Festhaus, the Jukebox, or one of the many other stands. Seriously... I bet they don't get much business in that place. If it's even open, Banshee and the likely AZ facelift should definitely breathe new life into the grill! Banshee burger, anyone?!5 points

Today I was watching the animated Banshee rendering on Youtube and someone commented "Wow, why does it look all animated". I guess "Coming April 2014" doesn't tell them anything useful?5 points

People on facebook who comment negative things about the ride. Hahaha less people I have to worry about in line.5 points

Medieval Faire...with a village of shoppes. With a faux drawbridge entrance. The center of the square could be used for a circular stage show. And have medieval games (like in the Capital One commercials...lol My suggestions in another thread were: Paint Delirium patina (copper and green) add a faux blade above the seats to look like the pendulum torture device and leave the name Delirium. Leave Invertigo name alone and paint the sign. Make Congo falls an indoor ride, maybe themed to some river legend Place the lower third of the Drop Tower inside of a castle turret, Paint the tower in a castle stone mosaic. rename the flight deck to something medieval....The Bat would work just fine (with the cave mentioned in still another thread) Oh....and stone pavers.....gotta love them.5 points

I enjoyed the PR behind this announcement more than I'll probably enjoy the coaster. Which is saying a lot, because this is literally the coaster of my dreams. I could not possibly imagine something that caters more to the things I love in a coaster. Literally the ONLY thing that would make it better would be black supports instead of blue. But that is so miniscule that it doesn't even really deserve to be said. But Don and the team deserve MAJOR props for this. The marketing was executed to PERFECTION, and I think the swarm of people in the On Location shop last night is proof of that. The only thing I DON'T like about the announcement is how ungrateful the general public is. Am I the ONLY person who thinks WindSeeker and Dinosaurs Alive are fantastic additions to our park? If nothing else, they got us a makeover of Coney Mall, which is my favorite section of the park.5 points

You know what world records are good for? Listing on a sign outside of the ride entrance. That's about it. I'd take a good ride experience over over-hyped statistics any day.5 points
