  1. The thrill of being among the first night riders on the new Banshee roller coaster at Kings Island will have a whole new meaning April 17, when Kings Island hosts “Scream for A Kid Again” to raise money for the Greater Cincinnati chapter of A Kid Again, a non-profit organization which strives to enrich the lives of children with life-threatening illnesses and their families by providing healing times of respite through fun-filled group activities and destination events. Kings Island fans and roller coaster enthusiasts alike will enjoy a night filled with riding the world’s longest inverted roller coaster over and over again. Scream for A Kid Again Event Details

  3. ^^^Why Are Most Of your Words Capitalized, Especially after any Punctuation. Also CP has ALOT more room than you think. As one who has been in and out of guest areas and employee areas and knows practically every nook and cranny in the park, there's alot more than what you see.

  4. Also thinking about going to Kentucky Kingdom next season. I've never been there in my entire life!

  5. The only thing I have planned as of now is going to the first rider auction of Banshee, if of course they have it...

  6. Hmmm. Platinum Pass. How far is a Cedar Fair park from Portland, Oregon? I'm kidding. I think. Lease up in February, notification of renewal by end of the calendar year. I'm kidding. I think. Other potential options: Baltimore, Pittsburgh, Ft. Worth, Atlanta (a definite NO! ), Detroit... Hmmm. Probably will be here in DC still, and travel would be from here (well, here at this very moment is Jewel of India in Silver Spring, Maryland, but I digress...) So, no next season travel plans (other than Banshee opening) until the origin is resolved. Terp--always tell the truth--no one will ever believe you.

  7. Hoping to finally make it to CP next year since I upgraded to Platinum. Also hoping to finally make it to Holiday World and possibly a return visit to Camden or Beech Bend. Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S3 using Tapatalk 4

  8. Definitely Cedar Point (give or take an estimated 10 times), definitely Kings Island at least once, definitely Six Flags Great Adventure...and anything else will be a bonus. My family has been talking about going to Canada's Wonderland over the summer so hopefully we'll do that. We also might spend a few hours at Dorney Park while we'll be passing through the area. No Disney or Universal since that was this past spring break, but 2014 will be a great year!

  9. Im hoping for a Silver Dollar City trip this spring. I would make a pit stop at St Louis for the arch and the city museum. I also want to go to SFGAm to check out Goliath, but thats a long shot. I will take a few trips to HW as always, and I have to stop at KK to ride the new coaster. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free

  10. I'm looking forward to Banshee and the Bengals-themed Flight Deck ( ). This might be the year for a Dollywood trip, but mostly looking forward to another season of home-park trips (Kings Island).

  11. I know my mom and I will plan to go somewhere during Spring Break, but we won't find out until March. It's an excellent time to visit another park if you ask me. This year (2013) we went to Dollywood during Spring Break, and in 2012 we went to Kings Dominion. I wonder where we will be heading next...

  12. oh, I forgot about Kentucky Kingdom! Might make for a good day visit, don't see myself visiting it a lot though.

  16. The box was a disaster. The theming was worse. Prior to both, the ride was far from medocre. And, yes, Cedar Point is in no way, manner or fashion running out of room. Go to Kennywood--see what the Henningers did. You'll see. I'd love to see Cedar Point 50 years from now. Many of you will.

  17. Plus now Cedar Point is running out of room. To get a new ride they have to tear down another beloved one. They tear down a classic, beautiful, themed ride and what do they replace it with? A B&M who's only theming is two keyholes above the entrance. Another thing I don't like about Cedar Point is that everything is starting to get cramped. Unless they do what Japan does and make their own land, Kings Island will slowly make it's way towards the top as Cedar Point makes it's way down.

  18. And the Disney Parks win nothing so there's that to consider. Oddly, it seems mostly parks that advertise in Amusement Today win. Huh! When questioning the Golden Ticket awards, I again ask how Cedar Point can win Best Amusement Park in the World without also winning Best Food, Cleanest, Nicest Employees, Best Waterpark, Best Kid's Area, Best Shows, Best Landscaping... You'd think the "best park in the world" would be even close to representing one of those categories if not sweeping them all! But Cedar Point...

  19. Yeah, Golden Tickets really don't mean anything. They vote for the same thing year after year. I think it's been more than 10 years now that millennium force has won best roller coaster and Planet Snoopy wins best kids area. There is never any change over there. I think maybe a few times Kings Island has even been considered in the top 10 amusement parks. I believe it is 14th

  20. I know our plans are of course Kings Island for the most part. I believe we will upgrading our pass to a platinum because I think there will be three days at Cedar Point, potentially four. We will have at least one day at Kentucky Kingdom. Our plans aren't huge yet, but normally something happens unexpectedly (in a good way) and we end up doing more than planned. 21. Boo Boo's Blasters is a dark ride. It's defined as an indoor themed attraction with slow(ish) moving vehicles that travel past set pieces and scenes. Flight of Fear, however, is considered a dark coaster because of a combination of dark ride elements and a roller coaster experience.

  22. Paramount Parks had a shoot 'em up show in Action Zone centered around the water tower. After Columbine it continued. Then came a flood of guest complaints. It quietly disappeared. Robbery in an amusement park? What's next? Cowboys and Indians? I don't see it happening. Just imagine when a guest doesn't understand, is terrified and...Or, it's a battle scarred veteran with PTSD and... Nothing good comes out of that scenario.

  24. Just curious to see how many people that already making park plans for 2014. Aside from my usual August and October visits to Knott's, my goal for 2014 is SeaWorld San Antonio. Takara is due any day so a new cute chubby baby orca is attracting me to the park, lol. (even though the baby, if all goes well, would be a few months old by the time I would even have the time to go). Plan on to take a day out to visit Six Flags while in the area as well, that is if I can pry myself from SW. My mom loved Vegas so much she intends on vacationing there again and yeah.....Mirage? Canyon Blaster? XD Perhaps this time I will actually hit up the Stratosphere. But that is all I got right now. What are your plans? (if any) May 2014 - Adventuredome and Mirage in Vegas June 2014 - SeaWorld San Antonio and Six Flags Fiesta Texas August 2014 - Knott's Berry Farm October 2014 - Knott's Berry Farm and SeaWorld San Diego April 2014 through October 2014 - Kings Island

  27. Trips planned for Kings Island, Cedar Point and Canada's Wonderland. Should work take me there, and it most likely will; Carowinds, Kings Dominion, California Great America/Gilroy Gardens and Worlds of Fun. I hit Knotts two weeks ago and hopefully will go again early in 2014.

  28. Yes, I should have been more clear. I figured most people would assume the one in Aurora but you never know.

  29. You mean the one in Aurora, I trust. Terp, who doubts you mean Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom.

  30. I also might try to get a group of friends to go to Wildwater Kingdom. I did that 2 years ago and it was fun--crazy schedules got in the way this year so hopefully it will work out.

Feel free to share these, but you will have to upload them to your own photo sharing site. http://www.davidwaderich.com/hotlink/KI note: you can use your arrow keys to navigate through the images. 37. I'd rather Kings Island not become anything like Cedar Point. Nothing against Cedar Point, but the atmosphere is so much more welcoming at Kings Island than it is up north. There are certain rides at Kings Island that are far superior than Cedar Point versions as well. There is just far too much about Kings Island that I would hate to change to emulate a lesser product in my opinion.

  45. If they went with renaming Delirium they could have it be The Pendulum and Stunt Crew Grill could be come The (BBQ) Pit. So then we would have the pit and the pendulum.

  46. I would love to see the Banshee scream incorporated at the top of the lift hill before the initial drop. I love pre-drop noises/sound fx. I think of it as the mark that signals the ride is about to get crazy. For example, the howl before the initial drop on Legend at Holiday World. I love that kind of stuff.

  47. Interesting how times change. I remember looking out the front window when I was in H.S. watching for the pavement to show through. If the blacktop was visible, we were going to school. Now, if there's any visible SNOW on the road they close...

  48. Cincinnati? Here in Cincy, everything is like the butterfly effect. There can be a wreck at 71s in Erlanger, and the traffic will back up on Interstate 471. Add a light mist or dusty snow and forget it. People drive like old grannies on a dry sunny day, but like the Indy pace car as soon as it snows a few inches. Got to love it!
