I met my husband through this forum, technically (his username is dare-to-fly). We'd spoken on the forums but I remember we met in person for the first time in Racer's queue on opening day 2009. We both ended up working for the park that season, and started dating in September. We got married last October and went on an epic coaster honeymoon in southern California. Right after we started dating in 2009, on Stricker's train. Yes, he's wearing his KI uniform. At our wedding, October 7 201212 points

Speaking of containers shipping trains. What do you think the shipping bill is on the trains? Something interesting to think about.9 points

I remember when i was at Beech Bend several years ago and had an open Coke cup that I tried to hand to the ride op on Looping Star. "Just take it with you." He said, "It'll be fine!" It wasn't fine...8 points

My wife and I went on our First Date Friday October 13th, which was at FearFest. Best part of the night was her holding on tight at the top of the Torture Tower. Maybe that is why I have such fond memories of that attraction.7 points

We celebrate our anniversary (almost) every year at Kings Island on the Fourth of July. We get a babysitter, hotel with shuttle or cab ride for ours and your safety, and must have Fastlane passes! Last year we didn't make it because I worked and my son was floating in her belly, he is now my favorite little living bobble head.7 points

A former sculptor for Kings Island sent me these images of some of the work he did for both Kings Island and Kings Dominion. Enjoy7 points

After checking out her ass all summer while working together at the park, I finally decided to ask her on a date. We're now married.7 points

It happens. Coaster valley its not a big deal that is why they have a block brake system in use. I would rather be stuck on that coaster than stuck at my desk at work.6 points

they do this instead of pulling a train through https://www.facebook.com/cprundown/photos/5524436881820746 points

Hello haven't posted a topic in a while now, well I got one in mind that I was thinking about. During 2014 season what is your number 1 goal you want to accomplish during the season? It could be you want to break your record on numbers of rides on Beast, Vortex, Bat, ext. It could be you want to break your record on how many hotdogs you can eat in day without getting sick. Theres many other things you can accomplish. Share your Goal's here.5 points

^ Can we call it a potato now? Please? "The Banshee crew was awesome yesterday. Special shout-out to the potato."5 points

I just made the point because them getting their positions probably plays little to no role in when the initial testing begins.5 points

Jimmy Eat World and Delirium should both be capitalized. Delirium didn't get corrected as it wasn't spellled corrrectly.5 points

I held a girls hand for the first time at Winterfest '05. Gave her a cheap ring I bought at the mall for Christmas. I think it turned her finger green. What an evening. I'd take these memories over any new ride or attraction any day of the week. It's the stuff you'll remember.5 points

I was engaged to a man and we went to Kings Island once. He boo hoo'd about Face Off hurting him. He then nearly chickened out getting on The Outer Limits Flight of Fear because he was afraid to ride. Seriously what a wienie. We went to Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom a few weeks later and he was afraid of Chang and Twisted Twins. As if Kings Island was not a big enough warning sign, this truly sealed the break up. We broke up 2 weeks later. (Not because of the non compatibility of amusement parks, it was just not a good thing at all for a solid marriage for a multitude of reasons.) Another rare Face/Off on ride photo. I believe this was 1999, maybe 2000. I look so young, lol. Somewhere, I have an Adventure Express ORP. I'm hoping to find it and my FOF ORP from 1996.4 points

On prior B&M coasters I've worked, order of clears goes from top of load closest to drop to rear of load. Same on the other side. When rear load gave clear, that meant all load side was clear. Rear of unload makes sure all of unloads give clear. Once rear op of unload sees last unload clear and last rear load clear, he gives high clear. Controls gives all clear, op in rear gives dispatch enable, train leaves station. Don't need mirrors or anything, just need to follow order of clears properly4 points

How dare you bring bags into the park?! Don't you know if it can't fit in your pocket you shouldn't bring it in?! (Just so you know, I'm be facetious)4 points

Four Friends Watching 8/04/12 by KIC-Vortex_BFF, on Flickr This was taken when I visited KI with three other friends on August 4, 2012. We were watching the now deceased Thunder Alley. The then SBNO Son of Beast wasn't in the picture, but it was still there (demolition didn't start until about a month later, if I remember correctly).4 points

I've always wondered how the $20+ Million is spread out. How much of that goes to B&M? To ADENA? To the steel manufacturing plant? To shipping? To the design firm of the station, etc...? Always thought it would be cool to see that layed out on a piechart.4 points

I can't wait to see Banshee from Adventure Express, and certainly from Delirium. Of course, everyone seems to want to see Banshee from Banshee (including me).4 points

I didn't know they hired ride ops for the testings when a new ride is built. I was pretty sure maintenance and the park over saw the initial testing of the ride.4 points

I wish you well on your journey! Even thought it might be forbidden.4 points

Make it to the park at least twice this season. It's a lot harder now that we live 15 hours away.4 points

There was a topic on KIC last summer where the poster was trying to connect with a female park employee in one of the shops. It turned creepy very fast. It was entertaining. Ah, love.3 points

Met my current girlfriend of 2 1/2 years while working @ Cedar Point. Was working Witches Wheel, she was in my line and I saw her. I messed up my spiel and did my Corkscrew spiel, as it was my first day back on Monster/Witches Wheel after going back to my home ride. They laughed, we talked a bit while the ride was down slow waiting for brakes. Got the cars unlocked, came back, talked a few seconds, got her and her friends on the ride. After they rode, I always prepared a few of my cell phone numbers on slips of paper. Tossed her one and told her I got off at 1800, to message me to meet up to go do something cool and I could get her on the last ride of Dragster that night. We hung out after I got off work riding rides with her friends and my one enthusiast friend in the park. Went to Thirsty Pony that night and had dinner as a group. Then went back to the KOA where they were staying to watch a movie..All on August 31st 2011. Ended up spending the night there and then spending the morning riding rides with them and then working that afternoon. Spent the evening there again hanging out and whatnot, then asked her out. Next AM I went to work while they went to the park, I finished up work, saw them off to head back down to KI for the next week The rest is history, and here we are now3 points
