There is no way to reasonably forecast the specific weather for April 18 this far out. Fret not.11 points

When you see the forecast for next Thursday and think, "It's going to be a great day for Banshee!" and then are disheartened when you realize that Media Day is yet another week beyond that. It's happened to me several times over the past two days, you'd think I'd learn by now...10 points

My husband was at the Expo center today and he snapped a KK photo. I do wish there was more marketing for Lightning Run around the Louisville area, it could do wonders for the park. I have a friend who "loves" roller coasters and she knows that KI is getting "some cool new coaster" but had no idea that the park closest to us is getting a new anything. Le sigh, I really hope KK doesn't fail and become sad ruins.10 points

These rides just sound...crazy. This Jersey park has had its share of fatalities and injuries, unfortunately. http://www.themeparktourist.com/features/20140403/17278/16-craziest-attractions-most-dangerous-theme-park-all-time Definitely not quite such a Great Advencha. I'll stick with El Toro.9 points

There was never a denial for the B&M Wing Coaster named The Bat either, we never found out that we WEREN'T getting that until Banshee was announced. Patience, padawan. All will be revealed soon enough. (I'm still accepting donations of plane tickets to Charlotte... My offer to go to Carowinds and investigate this matter still stands)9 points

I'm starting to think Delirium is gonna get a new entrance heading toward Banshee instead of into a congested area of tables and groups deciding if they want to ride Delirium. Hmmm..8 points

Well I am leaving from Phoenix to be there on the 17th day after tomorrow...im driving. Why am I leaving so early? Because I am taking a long way to get there and stopping at every amusement park on the way.......8 points

You know off-season is drawing to a close when... Several rides are lit up at CP. Edit: fixed6 points

I'm pretty sure Young Stud was debating on getting a fanny pack after much debate, maybe he will show up at KI this season rocking his fanny with his famous t-shirt. This would bring a balance to the world of fanny pack crews verse the 'too cool for you' folks.6 points

Think what you want, but they're identified as drivers at Kings Island. As others have echoed, Rocky Mountain Construction makes world-class, smooth wooden roller coasters. Don't let past experiences on monstrosities like Son of Beast negatively affect your opinion on newer coasters like Goliath. It may not be rough anymore, but it's still not exciting or noteworthy - in my opinion, Mean Streak is a massive snooze. I am crossing my fingers and hoping RMC will step in within the next few years and refurbish it.6 points

I rode The New Sensation before I was born. I'm sure my mother found that to be a new sensation. It also explains a lot of things.6 points

I absolutely love the attention to detail on this project! Even the pedestal that the sign is gonna sit on has the theme added to it! Kings Island, you've truly outdone yourself! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk6 points

When you're making sure you are remembering when every single one of your park visits have taken place, as well as the "anniversaries" of visits taken at least a year ago. For example, yesterday (April 3) was the one year anniversary of my first (and currently only) Dollywood trip, and next Thursday (April 10) will be the two year anniversary of my first and also only trip to Kings Dominion. I was watching all of my Dollywood videos today, and I'm kind of beginning to miss the place! Also, for that matter, April 27 (the Sunday after Easter Sunday) will be the one year anniversary of the very first Opening Day I ever went to!5 points

Kings Island on Facebook : "On this date 35 years ago, construction workers that helped build The Beast and park employees were the first to test ride it. The ride was officially, and quite appropriately, “unchained” in a steady downpour on Friday, April 13, 1979, for hundreds of media representatives from around the U.S. and Great Britain." I love Montu! Also, you guys are talking coasters for best new ride... I think Falcon's Fury (Busch Gardens Tampa) might be a contender for this title. As much as I dislike Intamin, I have to say that I am as excited about FF as much as Banshee.5 points

I don't think there's going to be any ouch about it. This is not the same giant wooden coaster that graced our home park. If you haven't ridden an RMC I highly recommend it. By the way El Toro is a giant wooden coaster and it's smooth as steel if not better.5 points

Ahh, Arrow Dynamics coasters...such good capacity. In the case of Vortex & Adventure Express, you thus get a solid ride on a good coaster for 20 minutes or less unless it is uber-crowded or something goes wrong. Which makes them good rides to choose on a crowded day. Oh no- a funny memory I have of Vortex just returned. It was around noon-ish, in 2012 I think. Our group was heading to Vortex and the line was spilling out of the midway near Jukebox Diner. A kid walked by and said "IT'S A 2 HOUR LINE!", scaring some people off. We got in line anyway. 25 minutes later, I was getting "looped".5 points

I'm interested in what they'll do with the space behind the sign. Hopefully trees. By the way, the misting fans have been installed, so that's pretty cool.5 points

hey, this is new... *points to tent frame structure outlined by neon green circle* what do we suppose that is? I'm going with the classic guess of a locker area.... though it seems small... or one of those cool misting tents... or one of those age weight birth month games, though it seems too close to the one in Oktoberfest. That's why Outlaw Run and Iron Rattler both beat out Gatekeeper last year right? No, they beat out Gatekeeper because Gatekeeper is boring.4 points

1. Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson, NJ2. Rocky Mountain Construction, makers of the New Texas Giant, Outlaw Run, Etc. 3. Mean Streak. And it has been improved recently. It's really not very rough at all anymore as long as you choose an odd-numbered row.4 points

Only got to ride Cobra once. It was at a point where the padding on the shoulder restraints were getting hard. Tanna (wife on here) (actually, wife everywhere, goes by Tanna on here) got her head slammed to the side, and broke her nose. Luckily, she popped it back in place, only experienced some dizziness & headache afterwards.4 points

In other news, and to put this thread back on topic, tomorrow will tell the tale for the Carowinds side of the rumor. We just need a member to go to Carowinds and check it out for us... "Paging merthecat, paging merthecat, your assistance is needed!"4 points

It also helps that both rides will start spilling into the midway even with relatively short lines, and when the average parkgoer sees a line overflowing into the midway, it often scares them off.4 points
-
Went past the park today. The first drop is just about completed. All that is missing is the lift hill and a couple sections of track leading towards the station to close the circuit of the ride.4 points
-
Ok it's official (IMO)...I haven't even ridden Banshee yet and already I'm saying it's the best ride in the park. The ride itself is spectacular, but the theming to go with it is phenomenal. Kings Island, I think you just hit a grand slam with this project.4 points
