  1. You never heard about the big blue B&M at Cedar Point long before Gatekeeper? To err is human, to screw up bigtime, a computer is helpful...

  2. Having just learned that, your own Tb went over to this point and waved at you all about 10 minutes ago: (This is the most elaborate selfie I've ever attempted, btw!)

  3. Two cars hit each other. That should never happen. While the media is probably overreacting a little since it happened so soon after the other one, it's not like the ride e-stopped on the lift hill.

  4. Good idea for the shout out. Make sure you do it also at the Guest Services office near the entrance. Our family has had passes for more than half of my life (I'll skip the age), in our time we've seen more than our share of 'disaffected' employees. So, we've tried to make it a point to give a proper "shout out" to the exceptional when we observe it and leave a comment with Guest Services. I don't know that it gets back to the employee- but I'm sure they would appreciate the call out from guests.

  8. Even though I haven't been to many theme parks, I do have to shout out Kings Island's policy on single riders. My girlfriend does not enjoy roller coasters like I do (though with my encouragement I hope to break that), and dragging a friend out with me is not as easy as I'd like, so I very often ride as a single on rides. Kings Island has never once given me an ounce of guff about riding alone, which always makes my day a little bit better. Thanks for that, KI.

  10. ^^^ He's actually a member of this forum; I'm sure he'll appreciate your shout out. I second the suggestion to share your compliment with Guest Services. Good feedback is definitely appreciated.

  11. The best part of the Intimidator ride page (at least on desktop): "Hand-held infants and service dogs are not allowed to ride".

  13. They are infact live, however they are just the current cams with a live feed. Ah, I can witness the Diamondback crew stacking from home. It's as if I was there!

  17. I wouldn't mind a "retro" ride being reintroduced. Something along the lines of a sky ride, Bayern Curve, or even Tumble Bug. Although I love the big coasters, one can still have fun on something much simpler.

  18. The day has come when Terp was wrong. I think I can live my life now. On a more serious note, it may not be the best (or smoothest) ride but it will get me to go to the Kingdom this year. Now I have 2 roller coasters I have never ridden there.

  20. I don't go to parks to play a mockup round of Battlefield 4 with kid friendly blackout painted ghouls or chandeliers. Thus any shooting dark ride has no enjoyment in my book. If I want to play a shoot em up deal, I have Battlefield 4, or an actual shooting range closeby. Dark Kastle for Cedar Fair parks, oh one can dream.

  21. Cool! I like how this works. Let's see. Hmmm.... I like the XLerator dryers. If you cup your hands just right, it sounds like a roaring, 425-foot-tall Wyvern, or any rear seat aboard a DC-9. Let the speculation begin!

  22. Shout out to all of the ride ops at Kings Island. All the workers I have seen at my few times at the park looked happy and motivated. Special shout out to Flight of Fear ride ops. Never have I seen so much enthusiasm in a ride crew. I love the taunting of riders before the launch. I'll never forget the time they said "Falcon.....Punch!" Right at our launch.

  24. Thunder Run opened five hours after it was supposed to. The wait was well worth it. Shivering Timbers, the same. The wait was five hours. The other major CCI that opened that same year was far superior, in my book. And still is. (Worth a trip to Bessemer, Alabama. It is.)

  25. Reports are that T3 was supposed to open at 4:30 p.m. today, and apparently, as this post is being typed, the first public riders are in line and preparing to ride.

  27. I had that same question! I walked into the International Street LaRosa's yesterday and asked the people at the register if my Platinum Pass would get me a discount on the souvenir cup and what the discounted price would be. They said yes - a Gold or Platinum Pass would get a 20% discount, taking the cup price down to just over $11.

  29. Keep in mind that 2017 is KIs 45th anniversary. They might hold out for a major attraction until then. And in only 7 years KI would be 50 years old!!!! Where the heck did time go!!!

  32. Reducing Monster spin can be accomplished with persons of a balanced weight. With my 6'2" cousin, it would spin with us on it regardless how still I sat. He'd keep yelling for me to stop spinning it, but believe me, it was beyond my abilities to cease the spinning.

  33. Incorrect... made that mistake myself before. Opryland's Hangman is actually now Kong at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom. Honestly I have very fond memories of the ride at Opryland so T3 doesn't sound bad to me.

  42. I think you can do this without bringing in a measuring cup. You should bring your five-ounce cup and your nine-ounce cup. When you get to the park, ask for the water(in the 7 ounce cup). Also, find an empty twenty ounce bottle. -Fill the twenty ounce bottle with water. Fill the 5 ounce cup four times, and it should empty the bottle if the cup is 5 ounces. -Then test the nine ounce cup. Fill the 5 ounce cup, and pour it into the 9. Refill the 5 and fill the 9 to the top. Take the extra ounce from the 5 and place it inside the 20 ounce bottle. Repeat twenty times. If everything matches, then the 9 ounce cup is a correct measurement. -Then test the seven ounce cup. Fill both the 5 and the 9 cups. Empty the 5 into the 7. Pour from the 9 into the 7 until the 7 is full, then empty the 7. If the remainder of the 9 fills the 7, then the 7 is 7.

  46. ^ Keep in mind the park has changed ownership since then. Under the new owners, I have not seen any such behavior at that pool. Yes, there are kids in the pool, but they are generally well-behaved and/or supervised. Give it another try; you might be surprised.
