  1. Personally, I'd remove the basket ball game and bring back the flyers from Carowinds. But that is just me. (No harm towards @OverlandTaxis30 intended). Even though I don't ride flyers, I have fond memories of watching them.

  2. The menu has been announced for Winterfest. Check out the full menu below with lots of new items for 2024 and returning favorites at Blitzen's Brewhouse for the Holiday Meatloaf Burger, and Enrique's Christmas Cafe to build your own Mac & Cheese! https://www.visitkingsisland.com/blog/2024/november/winterfest-food-guide-2024 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  3. Personally, I would leave the spot sandwiched between Backlot, Jukebox, and the basketball game untouched. But, that is just me.

  4. At this rate I almost wish Siren's Curse went to KI. At least it would be unique to the park and would add a new thrill coaster to the line-up with inversions. I don't mean to sound ungrateful as any attraction is appreciated to have. And the small to medium details they've been adding has been nice to see to fill out the rough edges of the park. But darn it, it's our time to get something thrilling and unique. Something that really screams in the faces of both the GP and the enthusiast that "KI IS BACK BABY!" I just fear those days might be behind us and have been for awhile.

  5. I'm always the first person to say that Cedar Point is my favorite amusement park I've ever been to. Absolutely love that place but it is true that they are the golden child and anything the chain ever does is always going to revolve around making and keeping Cedar Point as THE BEST park in the USA even if it's to the detriment of other parks. It's not fair, it's not right, but there's nothing anymore can really do about it necessarily. Do I think they removed Kingda Ka purposely to make TT2 the king of American Coasters? No I think there's other factors as well but you better believe if Kingda Ka was at Cedar Point they'd dump millions and millions into keeping it around.

  6. I understand why they did it but it's borderline dishonest in my book to have people renew their passes or buy passes as Christmas gifts and then silently close 2 major coasters and 3 rides and only make a small announcement AFTER you already have most people's money and nobody can get any last rides. The entire situation is ridiculous and unless the 2026 coaster is to die for, I don't see myself going to great adventure in the near future partly because they have closed so many of their unique rides that gave me incentive to travel 9 hours to the park and secondly out of principle because they did everyone so dirty when they failed to communicate their intentions to close rides They only thought of their own wallet and never took the guest into consideration period.

  7. Ka's coming down from what ElToroRyan and Coaster Studios have said. I seriously think that besides the maintenance headache, its because they dont want KA surpassing TT2 so Cedar Point can still be king with Cedar Fair in charge. All they care about is Cedar Point, noone else. I hope they'll sell pieces of its track like KI did with Vortex. I'd snag one in a heartbeat. Long live the king. RIP Kingda Ka.

  8. I think whatever happens at Great Adventure is going to be the defining event for me of Zimmerman's era at Cedar Fair/Six Flags. I've kinda gotten the vibe for a few years that, post Ouimet, Cedar Fair never had a strong sense of direction. Ouimet attempted to aggressively attract families while improving the value of what your ticket got you, which is where semi-themed new rides, non-typical shows (e.g. Cirque Imagine and the like), LARP-based experiences like Ghost Town Alive, (a mild attempt at) new dark rides, and higher-quality food offerings came from. Zimmerman at CF seems to have lopped off the more pricey parts but otherwise attempted to keep that status quo. Then COVID happened, and I feel like the goal was to position the company for the merger through cutting costs to make the books look good. At this point, I feel like they've announced the immediate closure of a third of Great Adventure. If Six Flags and Zimmerman are serious about bringing a quality experience (to stay in line with the Ouimet philosophy), in my opinion, we'll see more than just a coaster in that area. We'll see!

  9. Even more disappointing that they made no announcement about it. I will be writing their president a letter and will be mailing it to their postal address. Not that it'll change anything but that management of that park the past few years and the fact they had an abomination of a 50th anniversary is absolutely unfathomable

  10. Six Flags has stated that the launch coaster for 2026 will be "completely new", so it doesn't seem like it's going to be a reimagining.

  11. Same here. I thought Intamin should have been involved in the TT2 project from the beginning. I do think it's probable that we will see a similar conversion of Kingda Ka seeing as there's not any demolition permit filed for it like there is for greenlantern, parachute ride, and twister. Also, it is official now that they are removing their skyride. Happy 50th anniversary Great Adventure! Your new coaster didn't open, your log Flume refurbishment got WAY behind schedule, and they just closed two of your major coasters, your top spin, and your skyride. As for six flags over Texas, la vibora and El Diablo getting removed was predictable but I'm still saddened by the fact that it was the last Intamin bobsled still in operation meaning that coaster model is now extinct. I do think the new dive coaster is a great addition for that park though and I hope to get back down there soon especially considering that I love shockwave and with the current trend of closures, I frankly don't trust the new six flags chain to keep maintaining classics like that. Also I'm very interested what we'll see going to magic mountain in 2026...

  12. I'm sorry but park presidents/executives are full of crap when they talk about understanding that saying goodbye to beloved rides can be difficult. If they truly understood how it felt, they would not have been borderline deceptive about the pending closure/removal and would have made an announcement allowing people to get their last rides and have those final moments and memories. All I have to say to Mr Brian Bacica is that he's full of it!

  13. I'm gonna go ahead and speculate wildly: I think Magic Mountain will get the first S&S Axis coaster. Unless someone's been developing something in secret and not announcing its availability until after the first one is installed (e.g. B&M Wing Coasters), it's the only standout thing in the industry that comes to mind that hasn't been installed yet, to my knowledge. My money's on Ka getting the TT2 treatment. The real question: Will Zamperla be the ones doing it? Kings Island, I dare y'all to make the 2026 family attraction a top-to-bottom redo of Boo Blasters. Give us Justice League: Battle for Metropolis-style vehicles and a similarly-paced storyline. For the two weeks that all of the effects work, that ride would be AMAZING.

  14. All I can pray for is the family thrill ride is a vekoma madhouse in the Crypt building Not gonna rule out the possibility of a screaming swing or some other large flat addition

  15. I’m still holding out hope that it’s something like a Big Bear Mountain. My fear is that it’s another B+ “cheap but cheerful” experience like we’ve seen every year since 2019ish (yes, that includes Orion).

  18. I'm glad I decided to take that side trip to Great Adventure back in July (I had already planned to revisit Hershey, Dorney and Knoebels, and decided I might as well do Great Adventure while I was in the area since it's 9½ hours from Cincy). I got two rides on Kingda Ka and at least two on Green Lantern as well.
