  1. I just rode Rapterra for the first time today. The ride has the B&M “shakes” at least from the outer seat in the back row on both sides. The launch is great and the ride paces well. The theming and landscaping is really done well. The only quirk is in order to get into the Fast Lane line you start out in the regular line:

  2. https://sanduskyregister.com/news/587651/new-cedar-point-park-manager-named/ Colleen, IMO, is extremely qualified and the right choice! Having witnessed her leadership style, her love for guests and associates, I am confident in her ability to lead. The night before opening day at CP this year, I ran into her on the Magnum Trail with other employees. She was on the phone, but she paused her conversation to say hello to me and ask if I was excited for the upcoming season. I've known Colleen for several years through a mutual friend and got to know her even better under Carrie Boldman's leadership. I never expect to be treated as anyone other than a typical guest...but she always makes me feel welcome in/around the park. Congratulations Colleen!

  5. Just a few photos from my visit today! Discovery meadow looks beautiful... but Storm Chasers (now wind chaser) trains are hideous! Lol. Overall though, im happy the park is getting some love finally from Herschend.

  7. It is well known that ancient cats need more time to sleep. Especially after all those years of tireless driving for NASCAR!

  8. Rivertown is by far my favorite area of Kings Island. I'm a big sucker for antique/rustic themes and Rivertown very much does it for me. The area could stand to gain better/more cohesive theming in some places, especially anything that brings back the pre-Diamondback and TR:TR charm. It's great as it is, although there are a few changes that could take it to the next level! It'd be really nice to have a small amphitheater or showplace in Rivertown. I've seen a lot of calls for a saloon, but anything that can fit in the area would be great. The old Rivertown Mining Company building that sat where Diamondback's cattle-pen queue is now will always intrigue me. If Kings Island is ever looking for some easy theming and brownie points, enclose the upper queue and build something that looks similar to that old building on the part facing the path. The facade and porch space could be used for extra covered seating space, while the queue area inside would remain largely the same with the addition of queue line benches and theming.

  9. Based on relaxing, I choose IS. Just enjoying a drink with some Fountain ERT & seeing others have a great day really allows me to forget about everything outside those turnstiles for a while.

  10. Cornerstone, which is the employee cafeteria, is probably one of the coolest things I experienced as an employee. One of the most memorable things I did was ride on a parade float during Carnivale. There aren’t that many "cool" backstage areas—most of them just look like office buildings. Some of the storage areas are interesting but also kind of creepy. For employees who have been there a while, you can get your license and are allowed to drive in the park on the back roads. That was probably one of my favorite things to do. It was amazing to be able to drive a car under The Beast, Diamondback, Orion, and Banshee. I was a super privileged line cook and probably got away with more than any other cook. I don’t know of many cooks who were able to drive in the park—usually, that’s reserved for warehouse workers, supervisors, and team leads.
