  1. @Rallyomalley So to be clear, only part of the group was removed from the queue but do you know if they were removed from the park or allowed to go about their merry way? Really surprised if they were allowed to stay especially after attempted battery in front of a security guard. Then again maybe I shouldn’t be surprised.
  2. Rivertown since it just for show anyway. What tools are you using? I saw an ad, on Woot I think, for a mini CNC machine for 200-300 I believe that looked really cool. I need to get my Ender 3 printer up and running before I go buy another toy.
  3. How about a Coke Freestyle Machine?
  4. Sure, they could demo it but unless they have plans to use the space removing it is an expense with no ROI. Are there any ongoing expenses by leaving it sit SBNO? You expecting some big capital projects in the park in the next couple of seasons? I have my doubts about that.
  5. Three train operations are also not as common at some SIX parks.
  6. That very well me true. However the world is changing and it is certainly possible the music industry will continue to evolve especially during and after this pandemic. Live performances may very well shift back to promotional ventures as they used to be versus the profit centers they have become in the past 20 years. Meanwhile what is the point in demolishing a what is essentially a bunch of concrete if the park doesn’t need the space? Concrete is relatively low maintenance.
  7. Regarding KI staff, I do not see how stating one park’s staff is more friendly than another’s staff is dissing one. It is simple stating that one is better and that can likely be chalked up to as southern hospitality. Something some of us northerners could learn from. Bless your heart.
  8. This is a very rare circumstance but I understand where FOF is coming from and I think several of you missed his point. He said nothing about ride operations, it was about Food and Beverage in both how they were staffed and the moral of the staff. “The little things”. It is one thing to have long ride lines on a busy day, we all expect that. It is quite another when you get off a ride after a two hour wait and have to wait another hour just to get a drink or a bite to eat much less served by a less than enthusiastic associate. “The little things” and they do mean a lot. Also, while the restrooms at KI are way ahead of CP, they are still poorly ventilated, stinky and atrocious. (Don’t get me started on CP restrooms.) Something, in my albeit limited experience, other chains have excelled at.
  9. You can use the multi-quote “+” sign so you can keep everything in one post. Works well.
  10. One structural problem is the usual HS and College student pool has been declining for some time now. The percentage of HS graduates that matriculate to college has more than doubled over the past 20-30 years but the available jobs that pay a college graduate salary has not kept place. Career development through internships, co-ops, research experience etc. during ones education years has become critical unless you want to be making lattes with that fancy $100K+ diploma. Look at UC’s College of Engineering, internships and co-ops are a required part program. Even being a member of the prestigious Banshee Crew is going to be relatively meaningless to most prospective employers, particularly in STEM fields. This is trickling down even to the HS level with even moderately selective colleges giving significant weight to experiential learning. KI and CP were increasingly having labor issues pre-pandemic. The world is changing and the seasonal amusement park business model is going to need to change with it.
  11. Can you clarify this policy? Does this apply to ALL tweets (or pages as you call them) from a "personal" account? Even if said personal account is used fluidly to disseminate information about a business and tags said business in the tweet (page)? I find it confusing because all tweets are public unless restricted in some manner when posting.
  12. Reports on pointbuzz indicate the storm was bad. LHP pier has been severely damaged and some flooding in the park.
  13. On pointbuzz a post claimed the base pay at CP was raised but a substantial portion of the $20 hourly rate is classified as a bonus which indicates they at least hope to lower compensation in the future.
  14. 3 months later…. Mason, Ohio — Mr. Brown has reached a plea deal with prosecutors and will perform 50 hours of community service at Kings Island. The deal stipulates Mr. Brown will work in the entertainment department every Saturday and will perform shows at noon, 2 and 4 re-enacting a classic Peanuts scene.
  15. Looks great but I wasn’t expecting MT to need retracking so soon. Must have been a rough winter.
  16. @jsus The most important part of the card is the new reporting number on the back for the rest of us. Getting it entered into my contact list now. The old number (800-EAT-S#%T) was not very effective.
  17. @chad_1138 Anything on the back? They should sell some ad space for criminal defense attorneys or bail bondsmen.
  18. Anyone believe they are going to eject the church groups blocking midways during SpiritFest?
  19. That is because we have empathy for others not so fortunate. Do you?
