Not only that I didn’t want to deal with lugging around 4 plastic bottles and storing them so I would only purchase 2. Now I buy 4 plans and the CF gets $120 from me instead of $60. Still not thrilled with all the paper waste it generates but I don’t see a viable alternative. At least in non-park life I rarely use disposable water bottles/cups. We have had some of the Contigo stainless bottles for 4 years.

You can also look in the trip planning threads on pointbuzz for some recommendations. There are a few that get panned but can’t remember the names. Management/ownership changes so something from 5 years ago may not be relevant. Do not stay at Maui Sands. Travel Channel did a horrendous show on that pit. If you can camp and really want to save money there is Camp Sandusky and Crystal Rock Campgrounds. I think you can get a basic tent site for about $28. Also basic cabins for about $60. I usually just drive home but have thrown a tent and bags in the trunk a few times when planning long days in case I just wasn’t up for the 2.25 hour drive home. Not sure about CR but CS reportedly has some road noise but some earbuds while falling asleep can mitigate that.

I stayed at the LaQuinta last year once and it was decent with a good breakfast. Use a few online sites to compare prices. Pricing really varies up there with demand. In general the farther you stay (Milan for example) the cheaper the rates. In general below $80 things start getting dicey.

I suspect the goal is to sell it for scrap steel. There are haulers that will come pickup for free anything made of steel. BBQ, driveway basketball pole etc. One would hope the yard he takes it to would be suspicious and alert authorities.
