  1. I don’t know. Looks to me more like a mashup of awareness ribbons and the Darwin fish symbol on the back of cars.
  2. Here in this thread, the other thread or a new 3rd thread?
  3. Nope. No announcement yet on when The Announcement will happen. Be sure to keep an eye on our Announcement (err News) section for an announcement of when The Announcement is likely to occur.
  4. Yes. Someone did say that. So you are saying the Ferengis at Vekoma are gouging CF on self sealing stem bolts? Not a good look.
  5. Agreed. It would really suck to finally get a Giga and have it tied with Millennium Force.
  6. Lol. “Please buy this awesome coaster from us for 15 million dollars. However it is a one time use disposable product. If ANYTHING goes wrong don’t call us. Sign and date right here.” Given how crappy most of their other coasters have been, I wouldn’t be surprised.
  7. What are you going on about? I stand by what I said. KI expects to get much longer than 15-20 years out of a coaster (which is the age range of Firehawk)
  8. Here is another thing, some basic math shows that at least on average a major regional park expects to get more than 15-20 years on average out of a coaster. If they want to maintain a coaster count of between 15-20 coasters they need a much longer service life out of each one otherwise they would need to replace one coaster each year and we know the parks can’t do that. If parts really is the issue it would be irresponsible for management to do business with a company like Vekoma again.
  9. The whole parts thing has me a bit confused. It is one thing if Whirlpool stops making parts for a dishwasher after 10 years. It is completely different if a manufacturer stops supplying parts after 18 years for a multi million dollar piece of equipment. If this is true then the Vekoma is telling all its customers that if you buy a new design from us it has a service life of under 20 years and then you probably have to scrap it. I find this difficult to beleive. Von Roll still makes parts for their Type 101 Skyrides. Intamin still makes parts for Dragster and Ka.
  10. @VortexBFForever Other than having only two trains why is Firehawk so slow to dispatch? It seems to me it may take a tad longer to get everyone in the restraints and settled but once that happens we usually just sit there waiting. Like forever.
  11. All this Firehawk talk hasn’t been good for the psyche. Now if they open up Rivertown Freestyle on my next visit all will be forgiven. (and keep it open)
  12. Firehawk upsets me the most. I can go to just about any park and ride a mine train or boomerang.
  13. How so? When you go to NBCnews.com do you expect news about NBC? Nah, I do it all the time, they are reasonable guys. Just don’t be a jerk about it and all is good.
  14. From the park’s point of view sure there is. First to entice you to purchase a blurry photo and second the opportunity to fleece your money with a rigged claw machine.
  15. That thread was started as a rumor about Firehawk but quickly evolved. So it is ok if we have rumor threads specific to the 15 other coasters?
  16. Because yesterday at 12:04 some genius decided to make a new thread and this seems to be how he likes it. So that is the way it is going to be.
  17. That has a funny way of snowballing. I raised my costs to attend the park this past year by generally letting my kids to get ice cream at Graeters. We can always go back to stopping at McDonalds for some after we leave the park if they remove their favorite coaster (Firehawk) and don’t replace it with something at least as good.
  18. Still no Banshee. This is Earth, but I get Banshee on G Maps.
  19. Is an iPad Air 2 not considered a modern device? I did not roll back anything.
  20. There are a thousand ways to make coleslaw and potato salad and most like it how they grew up with it. So the park is really in a no win situation as far as those are concerned. I found the coleslaw very, very bland and prefer it with much more of a kick either on the sweet side or sour vinager side.
  21. Maybe we could build them a Charlie Brown Christmas Tree so they can put on a Winterfest.
