@MDMC01 While tri-tip is never going to be as tender as a properly cooked brisket or pork butt it shouldn’t be tough so it probably wasn’t cooked right and likely rushed. To be fair occasionally you can run across a bad pig or cow and it isn’t the cooks fault.

Not sure, but I had Apple replace the battery in my 6 and 6S in the spring so those are relatively fresh. Been trying to look up some specs but not finding anything definitive. Most reviews are not scientific and just use “it took x hours to charge using Y adapter” not finding anything using actual amperage draw. Anantech sometimes has more detailed reviews so will check there next. Another thought is the Plus models may have different specs.

Well I don’t have any Apple OEM cables left to test but I do have plenty of Mifi certified Anker cables. They will charge my iPad 2 Air at 2.38A but the most I can get out of a 6, 6s or 7 is 1.48. Haven’t recently tested my wife’s 8 but will check it when it is low sometime. Could be wrong but I will verify over the next couple days.

Firehawk Leaving Kings Island 10/28/18
King Ding Dong replied to IndyGuy4KI's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
Has anyone received an email confirmation? -
That is true the lastest iPhones do have faster charging. Some of of the older iPad charges were 12W but recent ones are 10W. Even with a 2.4A charging port an iPhone up through 7 can only charge at 1.5A. Thanks for the correction. iphone 8 and up can charge faster if you use a USB-C PD to lightning cable or adapter and the source conforms to USB PD (Power Delivery) Anything PD is still rather expensive, I just got a PD power bank and wall wart for our Nintendo Switch’s and it was around $100. Have no idea if the charging stations at KI support PD or even Qualcomm Quickcharge 2.0 or 3.0 for Android. I doubt it but I don’t have a USB 3 meter yet but may bring my USB 2 meter sometime and see what the stations deliver out of curiosity.

Welcome to KIC! I have never used the charging stands at the park but I have seen the tangle of cords so imagine they have a lightning cable. IPhones can at most accept 1.5 mAh at 5V so I would never consider standing around for an hour or so waiting for a phone to charge. I always carry a lipstick size power bank in the park and a cable. I have a couple of these RavPower ones that carry an 18 month warranty. They are very small and light and generally all I need. But I do have several larger ones and will occasionally bring one of them if I am expecting a long day at the park and need to use the phone a lot. https://www.amazon.com/Portable-Chargers-RAVPower-Technology-Smartphones/dp/B00ZZYBAI2 Anker also has a good one similarly sized on amazon but is more expensive. This Ravpower is a bit bigger but will charge an iPhone 2x and about 50% faster as it has a 2A port. (Edit: provided you have a quality lightning cable such as an Anker or OEM. Many cheapos do not allow a full power) https://www.amazon.com/Portable-RAVPower-Technology-External-Smartphones/dp/B06XQ8J81R I kind of geek out on the whole changing thing so if you have any other quations feel free to ask. With a family of 4 I have over a dozen different power banks in the house.

Agreed. Not only do you have limited time in the park but frequently it can be a long walk to Guest Services. I always first try to deal with an issue with the local management and only go to GS if it is an issue that needs an immediate resolution and that has been rare. If it is just a compliment or complaint about something that needs improvement I just send GS an email. Management may or may not monitor threads like this but for them to take any action such as retraining a crew on proper procedures they generally need more detailed information like a specific time or employee name which we generally don’t post here.

New Roller Coaster in Columbus...
King Ding Dong replied to Existential's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Well this is an interesting development. Two factions have parted ways and each claims to be moving forward with the project. The article doesn’t state who owns that land. https://www.bizjournals.com/columbus/news/2018/10/09/planet-oasis-developers-split-raising-questions.html -
For those with Lightning cable troubles I highly recommend spending the extra money on Anker Powerline cables. They are frequently on sale at Amazon or you can order direct. Anker has excellent customer service and usually responds within a few hours. The Powerline and Powerline+ (braided) carry an 18 month warranty. The Powerline II and Powerline+II carry a lifetime. Submitting a claim online is easy and they may request a photo of the broken cable. If they want it returned they will provide a paid shipping label. They didn’t want them returned on a claim I submitted recently for 3 pack of basic 3’ Powerline I purchased 15 months ago that eventually failed. Recently upgraded most of our cables to Powerline+ II as the boys are very rough on them. I also have some of 10’ cables for the couch and bed and they supply a full 2.38 A to the iPad (1.5A for phone) which is extremely rare for any long cable I have ever had. With all the devices a family of 4 has i invested $12 in a USB meter a few years ago to troubleshoot cables. And yes even micro USB cables fail or seriously degrade performance sometimes.

Hmm. Works fine for me. Maybe they are trying to tell you something.

Maybe KI could install some microwaves out by the frequently empty condiment table. Probably just get rid of the condiments all together since they don’t want to fill them.

At this point is there a food service establishment in existence that doesn’t have a pumpkin spice product available in the fall? Been hearing rumors about a pumpkin spice Baconator,

Could be the Food Service Managers.

2018 Off Season Poll: What Food Item Should KI Bring Next?
King Ding Dong replied to BB1's topic in KI Polls
They don’t need to move panda for that, all they need is a cart. -
I find this problem is not exclusive to KI. It seems most “self serve” establishments have abdicated the responsibility of cleaning the tables. It would be one thing if they actually provided the necessary equipment for a patron to do it them selves but they don’t.

That was very nice of you to throw him some shade.

I can’t keep up with all the slag kids use these days.

SIX runs the Batman clones successfully, not sure if that translates to our B&Ms. Some coasters run to slow in the cold.

Hey buddy I don’t think that tapatalk spam counts against one word posts.

That isn’t the only place you can get a beer. Aren’t there beer carts all over the place? I don’t pay attention to them much as I will only get a beer once or twice per season. It was last year or the year before I think I got a beer at Rivertown Potato Works at Haunt.

Have to agree that the best they can do is the no readmittance policy. There are tons of clever booze smuggling products available on Amazon from the “wine rack” brassiere (25oz) with a hydration pack type hose and bite valve to the “beer belly” bladder for the guys. Banning alcohol sales would only harm the park and responsible patrons.
