  1. KI Dollar Days would be a great psychology or consumer behavior paper subject. Probably a good marketing paper as well but would be difficult or impossible to get the data. IIRC the serving sizes are smaller? By how much?
  2. Wow. CP was very busy today but Snake River Falls had nothing like that kind of line.
  3. Many of the old “homepark” rules are no longer operative. However it is best to call Guest Services and ask them directly. Rules and procedures are very fluid and we may not have the lasted details. My inclination is to say you can process it at KI, but that could have unknown consequences with your 2018 benefits. Call or email Guest Services.
  4. Equally impressive would be opening the Rivertown Freestyle at Midnight.
  5. @McSalsa how busy is the park? We will be up there Sunday unfortunately as some friends have tickets that expire that day and asked us to come along. Would rather go Monday but will probably just hang on the beach, maybe kayak if lake is calm enough.
  6. Speaking of bad movies Action Point is out on video and I added it to my Plex server.
  7. I was going with Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No!, but perhaps you are right.
  8. A few observations. For those of us that do not live close to a SF park that is a recurring issue every year. It happens to be November 19th for SFSTL, but that won’t help me out as I won’t make it there until Christmas and that is always weather/health dependent. If I still lived 20 minutes from the gate it would be a non-issue. Historically this is the lowest price of the year BUT last year SP price only went up about $4-5 in December so not a huge issue. If you choose the membership option there is no deadline to process the pass in park, either the first time or any year thereafter. For me this is a huge benefit as I can’t be certain to make it to the park by a deadline each year. Although I will probably roll the dice and wait until December to activate the membership as I already have 2018 SP. I could wait until spring to start the membership but prices do go up but we do not know for certain by how much. In addition the standalone waterpark access is important for my family if we do visit Great Adventure next summer. Also an interesting note, historically the best prices were for 4+ passes or memberships in one sale, that does not appear to be the case anymore or at least for this particular sale. As Malem said the membership is a credit agreement so if you have issues managing your finances it might not be a good fit.
  9. Confused. Don’t you have that backwards?
  10. Poor SFSTL, 11 years and no new coaster. Has to sting after getting a slide that doesn’t work. I refuse to call it by is given name and will always refer to it as Endeavor.
  11. Nope. Without a Skyride a park will always be a Tier II Park.
  12. Probably closing even more drink refresh stands.
  13. Follow up questions Chad: How can a Freestyle stand serve the most guests when it is closed 95% of the time? Why are there no refill stations of any kind in Action Zone?
  14. The other thing I find interesting about this frequent criticism of CP is that at least in my view it still beats KI in the “family attraction” category. Skyride, 2 antique cars, Ferris Wheel, more flats, more live entertainment, the beach, a true lazy river.
  15. Take the voucher you (hopefully) printed to Season Pass Processing to get get your pass. I don’t think there is an all Season preferred parking option. I think you can upgrade on a per visit basis for $10
  16. Nah, I am waiting for them to get really desperate and include preferred parking.
  17. That minority is probably larger than you think. Personally I am fine with CP’s heavy lean towards the big thrills, but many others want it to be more well rounded with more family attractions. I get it but also believe without the big coaster emphasis it would get lost in the sea of all the others. Why go the expense of traveling to CP if it is just like all the other parks? You can’t be everything to everybody and if I still had sub 48” kids or my youngest was still scared of coasters we probably wouldn't visit as/very often. The loss of Paddle Wheel and the failure of STR are two holes I am confounded CP hasn’t corrected yet. Maybe this will be it. CP doesn’t necessarily need more coasters but replacing a couple of the worst ones with something comparable but more enjoyable would help.
  18. Meh, don’t notice them that much. What I do notice is all the abandoned drink refresh stands.
  19. Well if they went really slow. Maybe if it was NASCAR themed. Go slow, turn left, go slow turn left. The manufacture spec sheet says they are governed at 6mph.
  20. They do up at CP as they don’t have a Gold Pass, so no free parking, no waterpark, no early entry, no ERT ride nights with the regular Season Pass. Those restrictions really limit the appeal of a regular SP. In fact I don’t recall ever seeing any regular SP adverts up there, it is all about Platinum. Cedar Fair’s Canada’s Wonderland just doesn’t work does it?
  21. While I am all for Freestyle let’s get Rivertown open before we start building a bunch of abandoned stations. i am also confused by all these posts of, “I wish they would do something with such and such building that is only used at Haunt.” Um then what are they going to use for Haunts?
