  1. It wasn’t until I was a tween that I realized one could actually go to a park more than once a year. Kind of like finding out about Santa, Easter Bunny and The Tooth Fairy.
  2. If anybody can squeeze a Giga in that spot CP can. I hadn’t been on an enterprise in about 10 years until I rode WW a couple of weeks ago. Loved them as a kid, not so much now.
  3. I love stuff like this, especially the pumps and pipes. I notice that there are 4 but have only seen 3 running at a time. Was it designed this way so the ride could still operate if one was down for maintenance?
  4. It actually may help both parks. This is clearly a destination park and is nearly equidistant between KI and CP at right about 2 hours drive. Many could include two or all three in their vacation. Did Universal hurt Disney or just make central Florida a more popular destination?
  5. Those dogs are far better off than the 95% of dogs that spend 9 hours alone at home while their leader is out working or going to the KI without them. Dogs are happiest when they have a job to do. That job can be lots of things like accompanying its leader on a walk or fetching the ball. They really wouldn’t prefer to be laying on the couch.
  6. It’s about when SIX likes to open their new stuff. Their attendance is up this year. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
  7. SFSTL was my home park for the majority of my life so ask away. I was just there in June but was a really hot day when we went to the dry side so we ended up skipping The Boss. Good to hear from Malem that it is running better, it used to have a helix at the end that was just to much and kind of ruined it. Dont miss American Thunder (GCI) and also Screaming Eagle for its history. Pandemonium is a fun spinning mouse. Mr. Freeze is always fun but runs the wrong way now . Batman is another Batman same with Boomerang. Ninja is a real headbanger except first couple of weeks in the season when the wheels are new, if you like Vortex go for it. Mine Ride is decent but AE is better. Skyscreamer is a decent chain swing ride. The Drop Tower is nothing special. Xcalibur (if running) is OK. Tsunami Soaker is a fun Mack water ride and there are water guns for non riders. (KI really needs one of these). If you do the waterpark and like lazy rivers I highly recommend renting a tube for $8 that allows unlimited circuits. The tube can be checked back in when not in use. I really like the river as it has decent themeing with a couple of waterfalls and non of the ugly primary colored water spout stuff the ones at KI and CP have. Best bet on food is JB Smokehouse (beer and mixed drinks) or Moucho Nacho (Hanks). A couple of hour stop at Meramec Caverns another hour or so down 44 can be fun or maybe the original Bass Pro Shop in Springfield on the way. That place is huge. City Museum is good but I think the rooftop playground is only open on weekends. The Zoo is free but parking isn’t. If you are passing through STL near rush hour I highly suggest taking the outer loop (270) to I-44 instead of going through downtown it can be a real mess and probably won’t take much longer or actually save time if traffic is bad. You probably have SIX season passes but if not I would skip SFSTL and go to SDC instead. Time Traveler looks awesome. Imos Pizza in STL is a unique pie but many including Malem don’t like it and is rather pricey for what you get. Edit: Make sure you get reservations if you want to take the tram up the Arch you usually can’t go same day without them.
  8. They have 30.06 signs posted so a favorite pastime is sit out front and watch all the Dads packing heat do a boot scootin u-turn and head back to their truck.
  9. Press 1 for ticket prices, press 2 for park hours, press (what do you want to know?) for all other questions.
  10. Could even theme this out and have a Peppermint Paddy Wagon to throw the perps in while being tossed out.
  11. We have Air Marshals on commercial flights, how about Ride Marshals in the parks that do nothing but ride coasters and flats then cuff the perps at unload? I imagine there are a number of people that would take that job, probably for minimal pay.
  12. That’s awesome! My Platinum Pass will be good for 2 seasons! Drink and meal plan as well?
  13. This. The plan is not “unlimited” simply because there are so few refresh stands open. Sure you can stand in a 10-30 minute food line, but who wants to do that?
  14. In general I would say Tuesday through Thursday but weather is a the biggest determining factor of course. Like KI it hasn’t seemed as busy this year. If one of you rides with the friend and uses you platinum pass you can save on parking. Also CPS is a separate gate so they will have to pay if you do the waterpark or get a combo ticket. Make sure you ride Thunder Canyon, much different than WWC.
  15. Given that is is an almost universal practice at restaurants to get free fountain refills I see nothing wrong with not following the 15 cooldown when eating.
  16. @jtro223 If you do go to CP stop by Guest Services and explain the situation and request a boarding pass. You will still need to wait the standby line time and may need to get a locker but unless there is a ride malfunction you should only be out of range for 10-15 minutes tops.
  17. How much can you get done in an hour? I hope a lot.
  18. I suspect the Tornado Watch for the area plus the rain and low crowds were the driving factors in the decision to close. The tornado watch thing has me thinking however. What is the parks responsibility to the safety of its customers that it has activly encouraged to visit the park knowing full well that inclement weather was forecast? Many travel good distances to get there and if the park closes they have little choice but to brave the elements in their cars, some for over 100 miles. I understand closing rides and such safety but if there was a tornado surely one would be safer in the park with storm shelters than rolling their dice out on the highways. If you were hosting a party at your house and a tornado watch was implemented would it be ethical for you to declare, “Party is over folks, get out now, I don’t want to be responsible for your safety anymore. Good luck.”
