No kidding Goble. One trip last year I had to bribe my 12 year old with a pack of Mambas and the promise of ice cream on the ride home to get him to take another lap around CP.

I don’t necessarily agree with it but that is what some other parks are starting to do and unfortunately I fear that is the direction this whole issue is taking. My unscientific observation is the problem is just getting worse and is just a matter of time before people start getting gravely hurt more frequently. Eventually parks are going to have to spend more on enforcement or convenience solutions such as that bar code ride bag mini-Skyride concept system I saw someone post on here a year or so ago. Who knows, maybe the laws and courts will come down on the side that it is a individual versus individual issue and the parks have no responsibility for ensuring guests do not bring loose articles on the rides. I doubt it though.

@upstop last I heard the answer is no, but they are having some sort of night slide event I think. I do beleive CPS is having some dive in movies this season.

Even if there is a greeter/separates at the entrance doing their job line jumping is an issue. The ride ops have a responsibility to make sure if it is questionable. There needs to be a better system especially in the case of paying an adult admission due to height and then being told you are not that height but I have no idea what that system is.

I have little experience with tri tip but with brisket there is a fine line between done and overdone where it just falls apart like a pork butt. It takes skill and experience to test them becuase time and temperature are not the same between one hunk of meat and the next. I cooked a 16lb brisket last week and it was done in about 16 hours (actually a tad overdone) but I have had some take 28 hours. Same with pork butt but it is more forgiving. This has to be even tougher when you have 50 of these cooking in those big rotisserie’s.

Just noticed this in my latest SIX email. $20 entry to the newly managed parks and same for passholders at this parks for existing SIX parks.

Was there something about that particular installation the made it inherently more dangerous than the others? Injuries happen on rides occasionally and they don’t tear them down. If one clone is unsafe are the not all?

I see KD is removing their Tornado Slide. Knotts took theirs out and the one removed from Wildwater Kingdom has not shown up anywhere. It looks like KI and MA have the only two left in the chain. I wonder how long before KI retires our tornado?

Thanks for the input. We lived in Omaha for 10 years and drove back to STL a couple of times a year when the boys were little so I have driven past it probably 40 times but we never visited. The boys have old friends they want to see as well so probably best to use that day for that instead. What did you think of the new turn on The Boss? I remember every time we hit that helix is right when I was just wishing the ride would be over.

Just the boys and I are headed to St. Louis Sunday to visit family and spend some time at SFSTL. Probably spend a couple of days there mostly at the waterpark with grandparents but also get some rides in as Kiefer was not into coasters when we lived there and we have only gone for HitP a couple of times so the full lineup was not available. We are very flexible with our schedule and I have been mulling over the idea of a quick trip up to WoF as it is about a 4 hour drive. But looking at what it has to offer I don’t see anything compelling and it’s not like we count credits. Prowler and Patriot look interesting but that’s about it. Not really up for a @malem style day trip so would probably need to get a motel room so with fuel and incidentals would end up costing close to $200 or so. I keep thinking that money would be better spent on a KD, SFGadv, or Carowinds trip a few weeks latter.

Just like KI needed to focus on food service for 2018 (and maybe beyond) CP needs to focus on staffing issues maybe even some livable employee housing. Most of what they have is substandard.

Cpfoodblog is pretty good about mentioning if something is on the meal plan and they didn’t say anything about it in their review so I likely not. Plus that is a lot of meat to be on the meal plan.

Never used one and am confused on the automatic recharge thing. It seems you are charged a fee if your balance goes negative but how can that happen if you have automatic recharge set up? A few things I read seemed to indicate that it can take a few days for the recharge to post so you need to have enough in your account before a trip. This seems really stupid.

Why does it no surprise me that there are more photos of Vortex in this post than anything else?
