  1. CPS has the swim up bar so having alcohol in the water is not some corporate policy issue. I sometimes wish I still had the Zoombezie Bay passes becuase my wife would scoot out of work early once day a week and meet the boys and I there, but that is another $400 a year plus the $$$$$$$ we would spend on the cocktails. But KI is stuck on trying to increase per caps with flavored sugar, nano coasters, plushies, and souvenir shot glasses. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
  2. I would say for most of us would at best describe the food situation as inconsistent. Some seem to think everything is just fine all the time and the lines are never long and the food always good even though they go frequently. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Maybe it is just some people’s tastes/standards are different. This year I have not experienced any actual food that I thought was bad but I have certainly pointed out some service deficiencies. But I have only been to KI 4 or so times this season. If I did receive something bad (cold, burnt, ridiculously small portion etc.) I would likely try to be as polite as possible and try to take care of the situation right there before running to GS. If the portion size was to small simply state that I beleive it was much smaller than standard and could I have some more or possible speak to the supervisor. If it was over cooked or something like that and was obvious politely refuse the plate and ask for something else or just leave. Maybe grab a photo especially if I was met with resistance. They way I look at it is them handing you a plate is an offer to sell you something and as a consumer I have the right to refuse that offer if it doesn’t meet my standards. Taking the issue to GS is kind of a last resort because it takes so much time.
  3. Looks to be even a little shorter than Coney Mall. I usually drive between the two becuase we need to change socks and shoes and stuff in the car anyway but tomorrow is going to be different because we need to start at the main gate and will also be with a group of six kids and I don’t think any of them have been to KI. My wife and the other Mom are probably going to plant themselves in SC especially since my wife can’t really ride anything yet after her shoulder surgery. Hopefully some of the kids decide to stay in SC or go off on their own. Dealing with my two and one other the most I have done. Six? Wish me luck.
  4. A few weeks ago I was walking by and noticed a bunch of cars had some paper under the wipers. Could have been leaflets though as I wasn’t feeling nosey enough at the time to go look closely. Fairly certain over by SC there are just a few rows with the standard handicap signs. There is a special place in SFA for those that abuse handicapped parking.
  5. The only time if have seen the park set tickets to another is a combo package for a tickets to CP and KI. I would just make sure you are on each park’s email list to catch sales or stop at a grocery store like Kroger.
  6. The person who purchases the wristband must wear it and be the person who orders and picks up the food. Once you have the food in hand you may pass it off to whomever you want and not violate any park rules. No switching wristbands. How feasible is it to get a meal exactly every 90 minutes? If it is a dead day and you are not standing in any ride or the food lines when that 90 minute cool down time hits, sure. But that is not why you are at the park. So we want to ride Diamondback but the line is 45 minutes but our cool down ends in 25 minutes. So do you ride Diamondback or go sit down and twiddle your thumbs for 25 minutes? That is up to you, but kind of a waste. If I were bringing my family if 4 and didn’t have the all season meal plan I would do one of two things. A. Get 2 All Day Dining wristbands to give us some wiggle room and not have kids whining or fighting becuase they are hungry or want to ride and just be able to have a better experience. B. Pack a cooler with some nice subs, chips, cookies and drinks. Then go out to the car every 4 hours or so and use the savings to buy the kids Blue Ice Cream, Funnel Cakes, Pretzels, Dippin Dots or whatever strikes their fancy. Maybe a beer or two for Mom and Dad. Also I would get 2 souvenir cups for sharing between 4 people. I have done it with 3 and it is a little rough. Or just drink water. Next year, get gold season passes and the $30 all season drink plans for each person. Then you can go whenever you want, leave whenever you want, not have to worry about the weather ruining your only trip of the year and enjoy all the other benefits that go along with it. Most importantly if the kids are acting up you can head for the exit and really mean it. It only takes once. What food choice gives you the most bang for your buck? In general I would say chicken strips with fries from Rivertown Potato Works or Chicken Shack in Action Zone. Generally a ton of fries.
  7. Looks like we are going to KI Sunday and will be meeting some friends there. Probably starting the day at SC but we have to rollover Michelle’s pass from last year at GS and SPP first. I have taken the train to SC before but never walked the path. I assume this is the path or is it a different route?
  8. Yes RMC has done traditional track maintence in the past. A few years ago they did some work on The Boss at SFSTL, not that it did much for the ride overall though.
  9. Didn’t claim I was brave but not a bad idea. However being color blind kind of disqualifies me jobs like that and a lot of others. I need help crimping a RJ45 on the end of a network cable. I think you are missing my point. When we as a society overreact the (terrorists, pranksters or whatever) win. We are so hyper focused on stuff like this while our children get slaughtered in schools but there is apparently nothing we can about that.
  10. I don’t see a reason to get rid of it unless there is something to replace it with. Anything to siphon off crowds from the good coasters is worthy in my book. On the other hand KI could use those resources to staff the Rivertown Freestyle and some other drink stands. Sorry @VortexBFForever
  11. Screw @pianoman and his precious fountains! KI has already gone and destroyed one of the finest Intamin River Rapids rides by building a two bit wood kiddie coaster on top of it with a Russ Meyer B Movie ending! The gloves came off last year buddy!
  12. Inspires confidence about a real active shooter situation at KI, doesn’t it? ***over the sound of AR-15 fire*** “Would you like to purchase a souvenir cup in addition to that paper cup I just handed you?”
  13. And dehydration becuase the Rivertown Freestyle is closed most of the time, there is always at least 20 minute wait at Ice Scream in Action Zone and no drink plan options in X-Base. And more people are exponentially killled by gun violence than any kind of bombings or other acts of terrorism but “now” is never the time to talk about it. I am much more concerned about a trunk full of 4K rounds of ammo in the KI parking lot than even a 1 cubic foot block of C-4 sitting outside the perimeter of KI. But that’s just me.
  14. Sounds like McDonalds Schezwan Sauce all over again. Looks can be deceiving. I bet there are a ton of parents that have promised their kids they will go back and buy them one at full price.
  15. If KI wants to squeeze more money out of my wife and I they will follow the Zoombezie Bay lead and put in an over 21 true lazy river and sell $10 cocktails I can drink floating on a tube while the kids run up slide towers. I spent more than I care to admit there the two seasons we had passes.
  16. Royal Dutch Shell. Where else would a King go? Where can you get bottled water for $1.00 per gallon? Not gallon milk juggs, bottled.
  17. Even though I have the disposable cup drink plan there are still parts of the park where getting water is less than convenient. I usually carry a collapsible water bottle or two that fit easily into a pocket. There are even wide mouth versions that you can put ice in. https://www.amazon.com/Clever-Creations-Collapsible-Friendly-Relaxing/dp/B06VVRPQCJ Bottled water is pet peeve of mine. Even if you buy it by the case from a warehouse club it is still more expensive than gasoline!
  18. 4K rounds of ammo has a lot more punch than a basic firecracker. Did the Mason Police request they close the park?
  19. @disco2000 And when was the last time a bomb went off at an amusement park? However something went wizzing past my head last night on Blue Streak and it was bigger than a mayfly. Just think as a society we overreact to the odd backpack or shoebox laying around. A large percentage of this nation lives in constant fear of Terrorism when statistically it just doesn’t add up. I bet we could pick an random day and go on a “suspicious item” hunt actually in the park and get it shut down.
  20. What “way things are”? I philosophically disagree with this and believe you can be to safe or careful. Especially over things like bomb threats, terrorism and being thrown from a coaster but not more statistically significant issues like drunk driving or a poisoned environment.
  21. No. Although this looks like a Mason Police overreaction more than a KI one. I am much more concerned about the yahoo with his phone out on Diamondback than some basic firecracker or even small package outside the perimeter of the park. We know from employee posts park policy is not to stop the ride due to a phone out situation. They already do not error on the side of caution.
  22. On the face of it finding a firecracker anywhere less than a week after the 4th shouldnt raise an eyebrow. I can find find tons of them and many unexploded in the street gutter just taking my dog for a walk around the block. There has to be more to it than than just a basic firecracker. But giving the public details of what was found probably doesn’t serve any purpose and could lead to copycat issues and we certainly don’t want that,
  23. We may have our answer to why they extended the Gold Pass deadline.
