  1. Isn`t Roadrunner Express at SFKK a mouse coaster? I could see it being like Ricochet at Carowinds or Kings Dominion, or the Fly at Canada`s Wonderland. Those rides are extremely fun and popular with families. Not to mention they are still very thrilling even though they are small in size.
  2. It does look like the WWC queue or exit will be part of HH (Most likely the exit due to ADA issues). However, I doubt that guests will actually enter the trough where the water runs, for the same reason that the exit will most likely be used, and not the queue line. One thing about using that for a haunted attraction, is won`t it be fairly easy to see the guests through the woods when waiting for the train to depart to drop you off at HH?
  3. I find it odd that they are not opening up the two indoor haunts earlier on Saturday. Luckily, I have a season pass, so I will be able to get up there a lot and experience all of them. Is the Scrambler still disassembled for early winter rehab to allow for the line for Fear Street?
  4. I volunteered and worked in the Grove about two times this past spring. Both days they pretty much had all the shelters filled, and still had two "shifts" of meals for seperate picnics. I doubt if they will remove some of the shelters, but then again, you never know what they will do.
  5. Really impressive pictures. Hopefuly, they will have some of those PT characters operating, like they did last year. And since both sides of the FX theater are being used as haunted movies, it seems as if they brought out even more of the old characters. I hope that they don`t wait until 8 to start the haunted attractions (I heard 6 for the indoor ones minus Circus of Horrors, and 8 for the outdoor ones.) They should open them at 3 on Saturday like they did in years past to let more people experience them, as the lines can move rather slow. But at the same time, it is just not the same waiting for the haunts when it is still light out!
  6. I am looking forward to seeing some of the preparations the park has taken. I hope to go up next Saturday for Beast Bash and the premier of FearFest 2005. I am going to try and get off working at Coney on Saturday, hopefully.
  7. Chill down. He will get them when he gets them developed. The park still has a couple of days to finish up details, before FearFest premieres next Saturday. I believe dry run day for all the houses is either on Wednesday or Thursday, by invite only.
  8. I highly doubt that they will remove the picnic grove next year. Most likely they will change the names of the shelters (as they are currently referred to as HB characters. And they will most likely not have HB costumed characters. Instead, they might have Nick characters.
  9. They still have some pretty impressive landscaping. In fact they brought in some new planters with small shrubs and flowers the week that they were shooting the commercial. Also, the planters by the Parmount Theater are overflowing with flowers. While some areas could use some sprucing up on the landscaping, for the most part the park does an excellent job. The planting around TR:TR are finally filling in and maturing a little, and it looks nice. One of the things I miss is the fountains they used to have in Coney Mall, by where they had the ginko trees trimmed like "push pops" for lack of a better description. They are located in the circular area right by the Zephyr. The remains of the fountain still exist, they just covered it up with a planter.
  10. Yes, the park is open to the public, but it is not "free." If you have a season pass you can get in "free" like normal. Otherwise, you will have to pay the regular general admission price. (Which I`m assuming you knew).
  11. While they are still probably working oout some theming details, I am sure that they know who the manufacturer of the new roller coaster will be. The real reason why I believe they are releaseing all the details after Winterfest, is to have an announcement in January to get people interested in the new expansion and get people to buy passes in the winter months. With the announcemnt this week, they are getting peopple to buy passes before the end of the operating season. Essentially, they are making two announcements about the same thing to get their name out their among people that are interested in purchasing their passes. Like a two for the price of one type deal.
  12. One would have thought that if they were not going to use the land for banquets that they would have tried to sell the land off. Which they might just be doing and no one wants to purchase the land.
  13. I believe that 2009 was the end of the contract. Also, they will be keeping the Scooby Doo meet and greet for next season. They have a seperate contract for Scooby Doo from Sally Dark Rides, which is why that ride will be the only traces left from Hanna Barbera.
  14. Well, technically, we haven`t seen exactly what the park has planned for the revamped area. They gave some very general descriptions, but then said that the rest of the details on the new rides and area would be released after Winterfest.
  15. I thought that they were going to be using the banquet halls to cater special events and such, since the owners decided running the waterpark was not a profitable venture in Cincinnati`s saturated waterpark market. I guess they decided not to do that. It was still nice of The Beach to honor Surf Cincinnati passes that had been bought for the upcoming season after Surf Cincinnati announced that they would close down.
  16. No kidding. This and the Italian Job thread that you bumped are both rather old topics, and not exactly relevent in September of 2005.

  18. No, that was not the reason for it. I heard what the cause of it was, and I was a little surprised at what actually was causing it and I will leave it at that. While The Vortex crew is good. They couldn`t have been that quick at dispatching trains, even on a dead day like that. Sometimes the train was stuck up there for 30 seconds or more!
  19. That actually might be what they are doing. Did you notice, that they said there would be a Spongebob and Dora Neighborhood within the Nick Universe area. Retheme small sections of the area to those cartoons within the larger Nick theming.
  20. He brings up a good point. Kids will love the expansion because they will be able to ride rides that are named/themed after shows they see on television. It is the same thing now with Nickelodeon as it was with Hanna Barbera back in the `70s and `80s. The new addition will definantly bring in the families with young children! And lets not forget that the park is adding a new roller coaster too, for the second year in a row!
  21. UncleHenry, I know adults can ride WITH their children on Huck`s Hot Rods, aka the car ride by Hampton (I did not know that at KI they let adults ride on it). The Hampton ride at Coney is the same way and we do allow adults to ride it with the kids). I am confused with what the park considers "new." While I hope that they keep the trains (for Dora) and the tumble Bug (presumably the Blue`s Clues ride). I wonder why they consider those rides, (the Plankton ride included) as new rides, but not the Jimmy Nuetron bumper cars or Nick-Go-Round as new attractions. Personally, I hope that the water maze does not return. I have never done it, and it seems out of place on the dry side of the park anyway. It would be cool to have a large Spongebob "walkthrough" attraction although a dark ride with vehicles would be better IMO. However, the park might also be using some of the space from the Nick Theater for the new coaster that will replace SGC. That is assuming that the Nick Theater is in fact leaving.
  22. Well, look at Paramount with IJST and IJSC, all three are presumably copies of each other. Not to mention the Flight of Fears, Top Gun/Vortex at PCW, among others.
  23. I see. I never watched Angry Beavers. While I could see how that would make it a more entertaining ride. It is already entertaining by the fact that you are getting drenched around everyturn. If it was themed well and had a good storyling to it, then it woould be worth it. But without a good story line, aka the theming on Wild Thornberrys River Adventure, than I could do without.
  24. Yes, I think Wings will be rethemed to the NickToons Cafe. I don`t think the park should mess with WWC though. While the Popeye ride down at Islands of Adventure was fun. it was all in the open. I like how WWC is hidden back in the trees. It makes it feel like you are actually White Water rafting. Yes the theming to the Green Slime Maze is probably going to be similar to what they do at PKI, only theming it to Spongebob.
  25. Other than a new movie in the FX Theater and possibly the Mission Impossible Stunt Show (if that show is a traveling one like the Nick Parade, otherwise that will be exclusive to Canada`s Wonderland) there will be nothing new at PKI in 2006.
