  1. Your best advice would be to contact the park and ask about this.
  2. Keep in mind that the Kings Island and Miami Valley Railroad burns propane. It is not like it is burning coal like the Cedar Point and Lake Erie Railorad or the Dollywood Express. The wood on Mystic Timbers is pressure treated, so it should be able to withstand the elements, including any exhaust from the train.
  3. Thanks for posting your updates to the band organ! It sounds amazing! I am so happy that you continue to work on this wonderful piece of history that the park has. It adds so much to the atmosphere! I can't wait to take my newborn son on the carousel when he is able to, just like my Dad took me on it when I was little. I always was mesmerized by the band organ when I was young, and still am today! Hmm. I don't know what you added. Is it something visual that we will be able to see when we ride the carousel? again thanks for all your hard work into restoring this for future generations to enjoy!
  4. Well, it is hard to compare the beauty of both parks if you have not been to Kings Dominion. Kings Dominion doesn`t have quite the same commercialization outside of its borders that KI has. It seems more rural than Kings Island. I much prefer KI`s Internaitonal Street over Kings Dominions. Kings Dominions is a lot shorter and more compact than KI`s. And I wouldn`t say that KI has the typical look of a Cedar Fair park. As I have mentioned elsewhere, Dorney Park certainly feels in certain places like a mini Cedar Point. (And Worlds of Fun even has a Coasters restaurant that looks near identical to the one found at Cedar Point).
  5. By stating rides that have become endangered implies that these types of rides are being removed. To my knowledge, none of the Vekoma Flying Dutchmans have been removed. Yes, no new installations have been made recently, but its not like all the rides of that type have been removed, save for one. I would say that the Arrow mega- loopers have become more endangered than they once were. Parks like Worlds of Fun with Orient Express, Six Flags Great Adventure with Great American Scream Machine, Shockwave at Six Flags Great America are all examples of Arrow loopers that have been removed.
  6. And they do not have to invest tons of capital into the park every year to keep the profit margins high.
  7. Lines on a Friday will be lighter than on a Saturday or Sunday. So much also depends on weather, and if there are any special events planned there. I visited KD back in 2013 end of March, on a weekend, and lines were not terrible. The park is a nice park. Definitely ride Intimidator, and be sure to ride their Drop Tower. Definitely a nice park. It will be interesting to see what becomes of Hurler.
  8. But yet Adventure Express is a 5 on the thrill level. Based on my experience with riding other GCIs, they are more intense than Adventure Express. I know many things go into the thrill level, not just ride intensity.
  9. I don`t know about a dark immersion Lost river ride coming to Coney in the future. If I were in charge of Coney, I have several rides that I would add to the park (besides the obvious coaster). A Chance train ride would be among the items added, as would a set of Flying Scooters.
  10. Inside of the Crypt building. You can see the old set pieces for TR:TR/The Crypt on the right side, and the walls of Cavern of Teror haunt on the bottom.
  11. Someone should be acknowledged for that wonderful Beast theming for Haunt.
  12. I hope everyone enjoys the new feel of the site. We have lots more content planned. I also want to mention that ConeyIslandCentral has been relaunched with a fresh new look as well. I have posted updated information on the old Coney Island and Lake Como Railroad, including what happened to the trains after Coney closed. Be sure to check it out: http://coneyislandcentral.com/pre-kings-island-defunct-attractions/coney-island-and-lake-como-railroad/
  13. That position is called a separator. Additionally, there will likely be a greeter like there is with Banshee to check heights and enforce the no loose articles policy.
  14. First of all, the park`s 50th anniversary will be in 2022, not 2012. Secondly, a seasonal associate is not going to know what the park`s plans are until they are announced. This topic has run its course. Closed.
  15. It also does speed up the loading process. Although, Dollywood is pretty efficient with their loading process, and they have bins at their coasters.
  16. Keep in mind that Taft hasn`t owned the park since 1984. So the comparison to their theming might be a stretch. However, I think that the theming of this ride fits perfectly with the Rivertown theme area of the park. Kudos to Kings Island and Cedar Fair. If only we could get some more Octoberfest theming back into the park, and revamp the classic midway feel of Coney, we will have some great theming.
  17. We are going to get our passes processed before the park opens to avoid the lines, lol. But I will dig that receipt up tonight and purchase my ticket.
  18. I bought my pass at the park last year, but couldn`t process at the time since the season wasn`t over. So I do not have a confirmation number, unless it is on the receipt from when I purchased (which I have on my desk), I will have to wait. Thanks for the heads up though. Will check tonight when I get home from work.
  19. I found the price of those Winterfests pretty amazing. $4.95-$6.95. And a season pass for 1988 cost a low price of $35!
  20. And keep in mind that the hours on Easter are shortened. The park is open 12-7 on Easter Sunday.
  21. I will be buying my ticket as soon as I process my Gold season pass (purchasing your ticket with the pass options requires you to enter your pass number). My wife and I downgraded to Gold this year, since we likely won`t make it to another Cedar Fair park with our son just three months old right now. I went to Coasterstock last year, but didn`t make full days out of it. We had purchased our tickets before my wife and I found out we were expecting, so needless to say, she didn`t do much coaster riding.
  22. Looks like a very fun water slide. I have visited both of Disney`s water parks, and I personally preferred Blizzard Beach over Typhoon Lagoon.
  23. While it may seem strange, busy days at Coney are usually the days I love most to work. The time goes by quickly, there is never a dull moment, and it is fun to see the park so full with people. Busy days sure beat slow days when the park is slow and time drags on so slowly. Just as a friendly reminder to those that have been hired on at Kings Island. Remember to be careful what you post on here. Posting of anything which you are not authorized to do, can and will result in your termination.
  24. Not to mention, that Thunderbird has a food stand, restrooms, and even a flat ride back by it. I would imagine that eventually, they will add another couple of rides out by Thunderbird.
  25. Yep. See the images that Topgun1993 included in his post. I am fairly certain that is the thing that she is talking about.
