A few things... 1. How many people criticizing Leviathan have actually ridden Leviathan? 2. Let's actually wait to see the plans before we decide how big of a disappointment it is. Lines on a piece of paper don't tell the whole story. 3. Height and length are nice stats but there are many examples where a smaller ride is a better ride than a taller ride. For example, I would pick Griffon at BGW over Valravn.

I think it is way too early to say whether it is or is not a good layout. There could be elements (tunnels, etc.) that we don't know about yet and both of the B&M gigas so far have been great coasters and I would expect this to be as well.
-
I am still firmly on Team Giga. Even if this ride is Leviathan 2.0 (I expect it to be both taller and longer) it would still be in my opinion the best steel coaster in the park. Leviathan is a great ride.
-
I think it will either be space or aviation themed but I expect them to rename the area.

I'm definitely leaning toward giga just due to the amount of land already cleared. I think for a park that gets the attendance of KI that a people mover like a giga would be great for the park. It would also be a great fit for that area of the park as well. Given the fact that the dive and wing coasters at CP are still newish it wouldn't make sense to add one of them to KI at the current time. A flyer would not be a great fit because of capacity concerns.

I think if any park is primed to break the steel length record it would be a park like KI that has plenty of land and space. Besides it is only fair for us to break Steel Dragon's record since they broke ours.

It has the words primer and something that I can't make out after that and then the April date. I don't think this is the final color.
-
I agree with @silver2005 that a Talon/Nighthawk color scheme would also look great.

May I suggest Daughter of Racer as the name.

Millennium and I305 lifts both face towards the back of the park at their respective parks, while Fury and Leviathan both face towards the parking lot. It will be interesting to which way this one goes.

I think they could still keep the majority of the maintenance buildings. I do hope they open the area up so there are two ways into the new coaster. It is possible they do like they did over by The Bat and just build a tunnel to walk under so the maintenance workers could still get to the area.

With the relatively small amount of land and the fact that it looks to be leveled out, I think those reds circle along with the structure going up by the boneyard are going to be a new overall maintenance building area. My thoughts are because they are much farther away from the other clearing and it would make sense if they are redoing Xbase for a new land/remodeled land to take out the bottleneck of the current maintenance area. It is hard to judge by the picture but the pad where a building is being constructed by the boneyard is roughly 172 ft long (using Google Earth and taking into approximation compared to the length it is compared to the existing boneyard (Approximately 238 ft long). Even if you just look at being 75 ft. wide that gets you to 12,900 sq. foot. The white building closest to the back is approximately 43' by 62' (2,666 sq. foot) and the red building right beside it is approximately 63' by 170' (10,710 sq. foot). The red building would easily fit into that space and the white building almost does when you combine the two. It is hard to measure the exact size of the new space and with the estimates of the existing buildings it is quite possible they could be combined those two into that space beside the boneyard. If you take into account the other two circles, they could easily fit the other building sizes into those areas. That would free them up to do whatever they wanted with the existing maintenance area to build restrooms, a restaurant, and the new coaster along with the ability to add future flats in that area.

They are working today as well.

They were still working when I just got off Racer. Hopefully the Eiffel Tower opens back up this evening.

Another 2019 refurbishment that no one is talking about

There are also now flat screen TVs in the queue. Were those there last year? -
An Aviation theme could certainly work in that area.
-
I look for them to retheme it or just have it be part of Coney. Some of the recent coaster installations across the chain (Copperhead Strike and Yukon Striker) have both gotten area refreshes. I would love to see them move the Gliders back to that area like Carowinds did with Copperhead Strike.

RFYLCB (log flume) showed closed on website

It was running on Saturday so I would say the website just hasn't updated from last season. Congo Falls has the same disclaimer. -
After wanting the antiques to come back to the park since I started coming back regularly in 2007, I was very happy to see the finished product. I took a ride on Saturday and feel that the length of the ride was appropriate. The nods to past attractions were all great and the re-do of the Killmart building may have the biggest surprise for me all day. It took what was a barren dull area of the park and made it feel alive again. The Killmart re-do was Dollywood-esque in its execution (and that is high praise). It was great to see the small kids getting to drive the cars and their parents and grandparents being happy to ride with them. While I love coasters, the park was smart to add something that everyone can do and hopefully they look to continue flesh out the flat ride collection in future years.

Maybe BeastGal can ask her husband what is going on with those buildings in the back...
-
I'm glad I wasn't the only one who thought that.
-
^ I agree. I think with what looks to be a very large building being built is that one or more of the existing maintenance buildings is being relocated further back.

The park did a nice job improving several areas of the park this year: International Street looks nice. While I will miss the trees, the fresh paint and the improved fountains and concourses are a nice trade off. The refreshed Beast sign, the various memorabilia on the wall, and The Beast Facts in The Beast queue were very well done. The antiques fit in very well in that area of Coney Mall. It took what was an eyesore of an area before and brought it to life. The nods to the past attractions and the landscaping were all great.
-
I thought International Street looked very nice. I do like the much wider concourses and I feel that will come in handy especially during Haunt and Winterfest when it is more congested toward the front of the park.

There is part of me that wonders if they are relocating some of the existing maintenance buildings to open that current maintenance area up to foot traffic.
