  1. Happy to see the Antiques on the ERT schedule for the first part of the season.
  2. I really like Wicked Twister so really the only reason I could see it going is maintenance related costs.
  3. I also could see Wicked Twister going. It seems to be one of the least popular rides in the park in terms of ridership.
  4. That's a cool way to honor the anniversary. Now if only they could reroute service roads to bring back the lake/pond.
  5. I feel for KD, they have lost now two coasters in Shockwave and Volcano in just the last four years. Obviously Hurler is better now as Twisted Timbers, but that park needs a great, ground up coaster drastically. I understand that it has to be difficult competing with BGW but Cedar Fair needs to give the park another headliner, now that Volcano is gone.
  6. I'm very sad about the removal of Volcano. Volcano was always a bucket list coaster since I first heard about it in the 90's and I never made it to KD until this past year. Unfortunately it had went down a couple weeks before I was there and never re-opened. KD was still a great park without getting to ride Volcano though. The footprint that Volcano took up really was not all that big. If Griffon wasn't an hour away it would be a great location for a dive. You could potentially start a Wing coaster there and then wrap it back towards the front of the park although it would be tight.
  7. While I like the trees, I think with good landscaping they won't be missed that much. The fountains and the Tower are the two most important features of IS to me and I think the fountains have the potential to be better than they have ever been with the upgrades.
  8. I agree with Chris. I thought Time Warp would be the worst coaster I rode that day then I rode Flight Deck. Who would have thought that riding around in a glorified cage wouldn't be the worst coaster. Then Flight Deck banged my ears half of the ride.
  9. Guardian when I was at Wonderland in 17 wasn't well maintained from a screen standpoint. Hopefully if we do get a dark ride they use some static figures along with AAs. I think the old Crypt building would be a great place for a dark ride though.
  10. Flight Deck at Canada's Wonderland would be my worst, followed closely by Time Warp at CW. Vortex at Carowinds, T3, and Nighthawk round out the top (bottom) 5.
  11. I'm fine with some of the regular refill stations as long as they are open. The one back by The Beast arcade was rarely open last year. I prefer the Freestyles, because I don't drink soda so having Powerade Zero (with a variety of choices) as an option is nice.
  12. I wonder if they will keep the Xbase theme with the expected coaster. I could see them completely retheming that area in 2020. I am hopeful we see some improved landscaping, a restaurant, bathrooms, and a Freestyle location back in that area over the next couple of years.
  13. This is very interesting. While the park has made strides with Food and Beverage (Winterfest and Coney BBQ) there are still opportunities. Hopefully we will see more Freestyle locations stay open and a better variety of food options.
  14. Here is a tweet from a few days ago. I really like how the covered bridge looks in the back.
  15. If this works it could lead the chain being more likely to add and keep more flat rides to the parks.
  16. I still regret never getting to ride Screechin Eagle. I didn't start riding the big coasters until after my last trip there. Their log flume was one of the best I ever rode though.
  17. Another example of Intamin is that Volcano broke down in June and never did reopen.
  18. I feel like it will be slightly taller, something like 330 feet but I feel the drop will be more, especially because of the terrain.
  19. ^ I get the same feeling when I see skunks strolling anywhere in the park.
  20. They will also need dirt to fill in the former Firehawk station the way it looked from those pics floating around last week.
  21. I'm glad to see we still have 10 pm weekday closes in the summer. I was concerned they might go to 9 pm closes thru the week. Also I hope they bring back the Peanuts Celebration as it was a fun event.
  22. My question: Have there been thoughts about adding additional indoor dining options and seating with the success of Winterfest?
