  1. Honestly I think KI should bring this food truck event back or just bring in a bunch of food trucks and set them around the Eiffel Tower like they do here: Also, I did see the park did bring a food truck in today. It was right across from International Showplace. However, imo what I think they should do for at least the first few weeks of the season in the future is bring in multiple food trucks to help with food lines.
  2. I was off today so I visited the park as a guest. I was there from like noon until like 7. I never waited longer than a small line after the stairs. The only exceptions were for Orion, I had it go down on me a couple times. Twice was for minor technical reasons and the other was weather. In fact, interestingly enough, one of the times, it was already down for technical and then while it was down for that, they had to go down for weather. However, that didn't last too long as it started running again very shortly after so I was able to get my 97th ride on it. Then I went and ate dinner. For lunch, I had the smoked wings in the Brewhouse that were really good. For dinner, I had pulled pork from Coney BBQ. Ride count for today: Orion 4x Diamondback 2x Mystic 2x Beast 1x Racer 1x Banshee 1x Overall, very good day at the park. Had to cut it short due to storms that started to roll in around like 6 or so.
  3. This. They did say in the book when asked about The Vortex plot that they want to add something in Planet Snoopy and Soak City first. Based on that I came up with this little next few year plan 2022 - 50th anniversary celebration: park improvements/TLC in certain areas, a big time celebration event featuring a parade, maybe a new ride or two, but not major 2023 - Planet Snoopy expansion: maybe even removing the old theater and expanding back towards picnic grove and making that section into Camp Snoopy 2024 - Soak City expansion: new slide complex, family water activity, adult only pool/swim up bar, and/or a new dining experience probably a food truck inspired "beach street" similar to what KD is doing this year 2025 - Vortex replacement: multi-launch coaster by Intamin or MACK rides 2026 - new thrilling flat ride: either an S&S scream n swing, air race, or a Mondial top scan
  4. My concept is more of a hotel than a resort. More realistic would definitely be a smaller hotel more like Carowinds' new Marriott. I definitely think they should do something in one of these large grass plots as that is prime land right on KI drive. Either a hotel or even some more expansions to Soak City would be nice. The biggest obstacle would be the associate roads there, but I think those can easily be rerouted.
  5. I wouldn't be shocked if a new ride is involved. But I expect it to be more like what they did in 2019 when they brought back the antique cars than adding a brand new ride. I think it'll be more of a throwback year than about the future.
  6. The concept has no indoor water park. Just an outdoor pool and is connected to Soak City by a room key access (which is more of a pipe dream than realistic part of the concept). The hotel would be year round operation though.
  7. I was actually thinking of this when dreaming up the concept. Or maybe open the hotel the year of a Soak City expansion (with my concept it is connected to Soak City) and have the Soak City expansion be the year before the next big coaster debuts similar to the last addition to SC where Mystic Timbers followed it.
  8. I don't think it really necessarily has to be tall where you can see it everywhere in the park like Vortex tbh. I actually think a Copperhead style coaster would work great in The Vortex plot using the terrain and having multiple inversions visible from the main midway that goes in front of The Vortex plot
  9. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing imo. If this keeps up, I think this could really help the park recover from Covid and help get the return on investment from Orion especially if a lot of these people renew or purchase a new season pass for 2022 in August when that time comes around.
  10. Well Sandusky has a Great Wolf and multiple hotels that are similar. ie.. Castaway Bay, Kalahari. It likely wouldn't be that big of a deal, but I do agree it isn't likely.
  11. After spending some time looking around at large pieces of land by the park and Soak City, I decided to come up with a hotel concept using some of the large chunks of grassy land by Soak City and the associate road. The biggest obstacle with this concept is that it would require a lot of work on KI drive to accomodate for an entry and exit road for the new hotel. I basically did was that the employee entrance would also serve as a hotel entrance. The hotel would be known as the Kings Island Grand Lodge. It would feature about 200 rooms and suites, an outdoor swimming pool/spa, a full service restaurant and bar, a fitness center, a business center, and a full service breakfast buffet. Plus, a stay at the hotel would get you free entry into Kings Island and Soak City (meaning the cost to stay would be pretty expensive, but season passholders would get a big discount). It would also include a skywalk that connects the hotel to Soak City that would be accessed by your room key. Remember, this is all a concept and just me dreaming. I have absolutely no inside information from the park.
  12. I actually kinda like the location of the bandstand. It's right in the center of the park and is easily accessed by most pathways. Basically its purpose is to get people to stop and take a listen while they are roaming around the park. It is also a great place to be able to hang and get some awesome entertainment that is energetic and interactive right before the Fireworks. However, I do agree that the hot sun isn't the best as well as it having to cancel/postpone the shows if there is even a little bit of rain. I think an easy answer to that would be to install a roof on top of the bandstand and make it like a festival stage that would also help the performers be able to perform if it rains and not have the sun shining right overtop of them on a really hot sunny day.
  13. Yeah! They are also really nice people! Especially the drummer Billy and his wife Flor who is the percussionist and also sings sometimes. I befriended Billy on FB over the 2019/2020 off-season. I always try to say hello and chat with him whenever I can. You can also tell he likes talking to people who also play drums (like I do myself). I talked to him a little bit today after I was done with my shift at tower and told him that he has the best job in the park. Trust me, I would die to be able to perform on that stage on drums someday.
  14. So like Wonder Mountain Guardian or a bunch of those coasters in Europe that have a preshow before the lift? I wouldn't mind that. Especially for a medieval themed coaster in Action Zone.
  15. It starts June 5th. Maybe they are still in the assembly process? Idk.
  16. Is the stage fully done? If it is anything like the Carowinds one, it'll have a roof on it and there will likely be a truck next to it.
  17. They were anything but bored lol. Everyone was dancing, cheering, and having a wonderful time at the event.
  18. Here's a bigger sneak peak at the new Area 72 launch party:
  19. SpiritSong isn't scheduled for this year so I don't think it is happening. However, I could be wrong and it happens in like the fall or something.
  20. Came up with an RMC concept that uses the land of Congo Falls and Timberwolf (Invertigo would likely be removed, but probably more for a service life and would be removed while the new coaster is being built) The name is Viking Raider
  21. I'm at an associate preview event and we are getting a sneak preview of the new Area 72 launch party and let me say, it is excellent and doesn't really ruin the area too much and I think it'll be a hit with the public! I won't go into too many specifics bc I don't want to risk getting into trouble. I will say there is no one dancing on FOF though, but instead there are performers dancing on platforms and on the dance floor! EDIT: Here is a little sneak peak. This is a pic of me and the cast!
  22. TBH I feel kinda bad for the people putting all the work into the Area 72 launch party only to have it postponed for 2 weeks. I saw a Thrills United video from when they did a photoshoot at Orion the other day and I saw that they were setting up for it.
