Discussing Land and Space in and around Vortex
Hawaiian Coasters 325 replied to Klabergian Empire's topic in Kings Island
Check out this 5 year plan video by Theme Park Predictions: -
Ikr. It seems WCPO has been having him do all the Kings Island news reporting lately. Probably because of how much attention he got when he did his story on the SOB rumors (before KMAA was announced). He then has done almost every Kings Island related story since. People who were on here during the Orion decoding thread connect me with John because I started sending him stuff through Facebook messenger and some people on here still clown me around on that.

Tbh I'm not surprised Cedar Fair took action to be a part of this project. Mainly due to how well it'll benefit the park so I think having some sort of ownership in the facility will help CF long term and may lead to more big investments. This should also help the revenue boost up to help recover from the pandemic losses. Well this won't be the only campground near a Cedar Fair park that will be right across from a McDonald's. The campground I stayed at in Sandusky was right across the street from McDonald's lol.

Could KI be getting a Floorless next?
Hawaiian Coasters 325 replied to SonofBaconator's topic in Rumors
I'd be very disappointed if they built a dive coaster. I don't think we need another B&M. However, a floorless or even a flyer would be the best B&M options imo. -
Discussing Land and Space in and around Vortex

This was kinda hard to do, but this was the best I could do at an RMC concept on The Vortex plot of land. KICentral Throwback Thread

I'm still kinda confused on what this was. Was it just trying to survive the off season or what? -
KICentral Throwback Thread
Hawaiian Coasters 325 replied to Hawaiian Coasters 325's topic in Kings Island
Found this old video about something KIC used to do years ago called KIC Survivor. Anyone here remember it? I'm interested in that. -
I think an RMC ground up would be the best fit for the next coaster not just because it would be a perfect fit to the park, but because it doesn't cost as much as a B&M or Mack. However, I highly doubt we'll see a theme pay homage to Son of Beast or see the Son of Beast name reused again. I honestly expect these next few coaster additions in the CF chain to be fairly cheap additions.

2022 I expect to be more of a focus on the 50th anniversary of the park. I say if they do add a new ride, it'll be a throwback to an older ride like what CP is doing for their 150th anniversary by bringing back the boat ride. People have tossed around the idea of them retheming Boo Blasters into a new version of Phantom Theater a bunch recently. I could see something along those lines. Or my biggest idea that is pretty unlikely is to bring back the skyride maybe have it in Coney Mall and have it start near Hanks/Racer's entrance and have it end where The Vortex station was (or near it). I also think we can expect a large celebration event based on the milestone and them taking a year off from Grand Carnivale just for the anniversary (then bring back Carnivale for 2023). In conclusion I think 2022 will be a year of celebration than a new attraction.

Brand new theme. I don't think they'll use a name that was used in the past. I think they'll come up with an original name. For coaster, I don't want a dive. If I had my way, I'd go for a ground up RMC or an Intamin multi launch. While I think The Vortex plot is a very likely spot for a coaster, part of me thinks they should focus on Action Zone next since it's been 6 years since they did anything with that area. Plus Action Zone doesn't really have a theme and I think an update to Action Zone in the style of what they did with A72 with a new name would be nice.

Great idea Kyle! I love your pictures and blogs! Thank you for being here! Super excited to see what the park does for 2022. Knowing them and Cedar Fair, I think we can expect it to be a very special season!- 1 reply

Kennywood Removing Four Rides
Hawaiian Coasters 325 replied to TombraiderTy's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I wonder if we are going to start hearing news of more rides being retired. Maybe even at CF parks. I have a feeling that due to money lost and stuff, we are going to start seeing more rides that cost too much to maintain be removed. -
Coronavirus Impacting Theme Parks
Hawaiian Coasters 325 replied to Hawaiian Coasters 325's topic in Kings Island
Even when we get a vaccine, it's going to take months if not another year to distribute it and plus you have to get enough people to take it which seems like is going to be a problem since there are a lot of people who say they aren't getting it. -
I say to play off on that theme. They could replace bat with an RMC and it could be themed to a haunted sawmill. Or you must be talking about Mystic Timbers.

Even though I don't want a dive coaster, I drew up a concept of one. It fits quite nicely. Photo credit: CoasterBob62 -
After coming up with a master plan concept for Coney Mall, I decided to make one for Action Zone. Here is what I came up with: The area would be renamed "Fear Central" Congo Falls would be replaced by an S&S Scream N Swing Invertigo would be replaced by a Sky Wheel Timberwolf would be removed and a new pathway featuring 3 new flats and a new restaurant would be added. One of the flats would be a Top Scan similar to what Carowinds got. Xtreme Skyflyer would be removed or relocated and would be replaced by a flat ride. The Chicken Shack building would be removed and replaced with a new restaurant Drop Tower would receive a new paint job and be renamed "Demon Drop" Then to top it all off, The Bat would be replaced by a new ground up RMC themed to a Beast Sequel (not directly tied to Son of Beast) Here is the photo:

Resurrecting an older thread: I made a master plan concept of Coney Mall. This is just speculation and nothing from the park, but here are some of the things I chose to do: 1) a skyride is added that starts from the front end of Coney Mall and ends at the back end. 2) a new flat ride is placed near Juke Box Diner in front of Backlot Stunt Coaster 3) The Woodstock Gliders are relocated back to where the original gliders were and are renamed back to Flying Eagles (a new splash pad is placed where the gliders are currently) 4) a new coaster with a speed car/automobile theme (think Lightning Rod at Dollywood) is added where Vortex was. It's either an RMC or Mack multi launch 5) Skyline Chili is replaced with a new restaurant themed to Coney Mall 6) the killmart building is torn down and replaced with a Kings Island history museum that has exhibits that are easy to remove so that they can turn the building into a haunt building for haunt. 7) the Coney Mall sign returns with a new look 8) the entrance to Rivertown is pushed back a bit to make Backlot Stunt Coaster a part of Coney Mall. Here's the concept using Google Maps:

I'd be very upset if they got rid of Drop Tower. It's imo the best out of the 6 Drop Towers I've been on. I've been on this, Lex Luthor Drop of Doom, Power Tower, Liberty Launch, The Big Shot (Stratosphere), and one of those mini Drop Towers at a traveling carnival. Plus it is one of the few Gyro Drops in the US. -
Coronavirus Impacting Theme Parks
Hawaiian Coasters 325 replied to Hawaiian Coasters 325's topic in Kings Island
I think the saying covid is here to stay is that covid will likely become a virus that we learn to live with like the flu. That doesn't mean we'll be taking these precautions like wearing masks, social distancing, and banning mass gatherings forever, but that just means that the virus will still be around. It will depend on vaccines and treatments.
