  1. They haven't played it since like 2019 unfortunately. I wish they would bring that back though. Ever since 2021, Mike Koontz would choose a song that plays every morning when associates arrive to set the mood for the day.
  2. I like that idea. I think a simple queue house structure similar to Maverick's queue (old WWL station building) covering the main part of the queue with the front of it facing the Coke stand decorated similar to the old Rivertown mining company exterior would be awesome. Then inside the queue house have some old western lanterns light up the queue (similar to inside a Cracker Barrel) along with fans and maybe a custom country/western music playlist similar to what Maverick used to have. Would be a good opportunity for Diamondback's 20th anniversary in 2029.
  3. To be fair, The Beast I have noticed increasing popularity/lines ever since they started retracking it even on dead days it usually has a line. With word going around about how smooth it is now, it wouldn't shock me one bit if The Beast has the highest ridership numbers this year. Even on dead weekdays, it's almost always a near full queue house during the last hour/fireworks.
  4. I don't see a Mack as Mack is extremely expensive. I think Vekoma would be the best bet. I don't know how much a modern Vekoma like Abyssus would cost, but I'm guessing it would cost less than Copperhead Strike. Correct me if wrong though
  5. Seeing old pics of that building, it is a shame they demolished that for a queue that is as barely shaded as Diamondback's queue. Imo looking back they honestly could've kept that building and used it as Diamondback's queue house similar to how Maverick uses White Water Landing's old station for its queue.
  6. I could see that worse case scenario. What would be your 2027 prediction then? Boo Blasters replacement? Another Camp Snoopy expansion? Another Soak City expansion? Coney Mall/AZ flat ride package?
  7. Orion is a major thrill coaster. Ik it's not Fury size but it's still a giga coaster and very few parks have one. I'd take Orion over a dive or wing coaster anyday. I'd also definitely take it over Firehawk and Vortex. Still holding out hope Vortex's replacement is 2027. That would also align with the 40th anniversary of the original Vortex so why not celebrate it with a reborn modern Vortex by Vekoma
  8. This is one of the reasons why I think Food and Wine should be held in between opening weekend and Memorial Day. That way you don't have the loud bandstand show interfering with the laid back atmosphere of Food and Wine.
  9. To be fair, going with this would've likely required the removal of Mondo Monsoon which I'm sure the park did not want to lose.
  10. I stumbled upon an old video of Marty's Party. I didn't even know this was a thing granted I was only like 6/7 back then and never watched shows at KI then lol. Throwing marshmallows on the stage sounds interesting to say the least. Does anyone here remember more about Marty's Party? It's hard to find stuff about it outside of the photos on this forum. Maybe could make for a good topic for a future Tower Topics episode @DonHelbig @BoddaH1994
  11. Im getting Wrath of Rakshasa/Six Flags Great America ads on here lol
  12. Looks like some media people got a sneak preview this morning: https://www.wlwt.com/article/kings-islands-soak-city-new-attractions-memorial-day-weekend/64852450 https://local12.com/news/local/soak-city-to-open-for-memorial-day-weekend-with-new-water-coaster-at-kings-island-cincinnati-mason-riverracers-rides-memorial-day-weekend-food-drinks And just like that we're getting close to calling it a wrap on another construction thread!
  13. Guessing it'll just be used for seating and maybe live music
  14. I would honestly rather a fully indoor ride in that building. With KI focusing on dry park rides that can operate during Winterfest, a fully indoor ride would be better as a way to fully escape the outside elements no matter the time of year.
  15. Camp Snoopy i don't think plans were filed until later same with Adventure Port. I could honestly see after the whole leak thing last year with Soak City that the park would want to keep this under wraps as much as possible. Its also still May and the Soak City attractions weren't filed until like mid June i think. I could see it being a Haunt though worst case scenario, but would they really be cleaning it out/doing all this drilling work now for Haunt? Correct me if im wrong but i don't remember seeing this much action this early for Hotel St Michelle when that was new.
  16. I didn't realize 2026 is the USA quarter millenial. I wonder what kind of celebration if any the park would do. Would it just be over 4th of July weekend or all summer?
  17. To the average general public, Diamondback, Orion, The Beast, Banshee, and even Mystic Timbers to an extent are extreme rides. KI doesn't need a major new coaster right now. From 2009 to 2020, KI added a new thrill coaster every 3-5 years to round out the thrill coaster lineup which was sorta lacking under Paramount. Now since I feel the park has a solid thrill coaster lineup, it's time to focus on what actually brings in the crowds around here which is families with kids. Sol Spin was the first thrilling flat ride addition (that isn't a tower ride) since Delirium in 2003. Snoopy's Soapbox Racers was the first new ride in Planet Snoopy since Woodstock Gliders (Franklin's Flyers) and Space Buggies in 2015. RiverRacers is the first water slide addition to Soak City since Tropical Plunge in 2016. If the 2026 attraction is going in the Crypt building which a lot of signs are currently pointing to it, then it'll be another indoor attraction that hopefully is family friendly and can run during Winterfest which is a plus. Also, outside of Haunt that large building has been vacant A LOT longer than The Vortex plot so I'm perfectly fine with that getting filled first.
  18. Tbh I hope if the new super flume for Carowinds in 2026 is a success, I wouldn't mind seeing one come to KI. Put it in the wooded area behind the Crypt building near The Beast and have it pay homage to Kenton's Cove Keelboat Canal.
  19. Idk what's going on, but the photo/video links aren't working. This same thing happened to me a couple weeks ago with photos i tried to upload from my phone. Is there a problem with the site? @IndyGuy4KI @malem @Dane can this be addressed in any way?
  20. We're here again! 17 years since they last appeared, they are starting to appear again! I live 5 minutes from the park and caught several today. Crazy to think it's been 17 years. I remember them coming out in 2008 when I was 5 and my parents telling me the next time they come out, I'll be a grown up. Now here I am at 22 about to be 23 in just under a month! Might as well resurrect this thread again as we see them likely take over the park in the coming weeks.
  21. The more i think about it, i think Timber Hallow is for a themed area probably the area where the water ride at Carowinds is going.
