It just isn’t possible to have a “best day” when a park is this crowded. Or even a good day. It had to be miserable.

I am bitter when I have traveled long distance to Cedar Fair parks MULTIPLE times to be greeted with early and even total closures. I probably won’t renew my Platinum pass again as it isn’t worth the risk to go to their parks other than locally.

The ballon, bi planes and skydiving were the Firestone Air Show. They had it around 6 PM each day.

Cedar Fair used to operate as advertised. They had a good reputation. But now they are becoming like C class Six Flags parks and Kennywood. If these parks keep operating like this they will have to depend 100% on locals. Nobody is going to waste their money traveling to a place that they don’t know will be open.

There are NO pros. They are 100% offered out of greed and because people will pay for them. Great operations, single rider lines and free lockers/no carry on items would be far superior and give all guests a great experience with shorter waits. All paid fast passes just give some guests a better experience while making a worse experience for the majority. But B class theme parks like Cedar Fair and C class parks like Six Flags reallY don’t care about giving the best experience. Their business models depend on cheap Season passes and they know people will Come back because they got them with the cheap season pass, not because of a high quality experience.

International Street - instrumental chill Rivertown. Instrumental bluegrass Oktoberfest - instrumental polka etc Coney - dance music and disco Area 72 - the current soundtrack is perfect. Happy Land cartoony music Action Zone is so generic there is no music that goes with it.

This passholder preview days are supposedly a “benefit” of a season pass. There is absolutely no benefit whatsoever as they feature the longest lines of the season.

They have sold off too much of the surrounding land that could’ve been developed for a resort. The park is now surrounded by the city. It’s landlocked except for the terrain areas of the valley.

it looks absolutely dreadful. That was a full forest of trees and they removed all of them. The location behind fast food restaurants is equally as awful. Why not just park in the Walmart parking lot? This cannot be advertised as a luxury resort when it is nothing but a glorified parking lot.

Kings Island is a superior overall park. It was designed to be a theme park, with themed sections. And a logical, easy to travel layout. The entrances of the 3 Taft-built parks are the most spectacular entrances of any theme parks worldwide, including Disney. IMO King's Island has a better coaster collection if you want to re-ride because so many coasters at CP were built to be extreme. I am located in between the 2 and almost always chose KI to attend because of its superior atmosphere. CP does have the lake going for it, but sooooo much of the park is generic and just pavement midways. Although KI is catching up to CP with the lack of shade these days with all of the tree removal! Now that being said, Paramount almost ruined KI forever with its destruction of the original theming and lackluster ride additions. Cedar Fair saved KI and the other Taft parks from that dark era.

The company runs out of cash in six months. And they don’t have much income in cash in the meantime. There’s not going to be a lot of major ride investments for several years probably

That’s my favorite time of year to go to the park. Even if most of the rides are closed it’s just amazing being there at night with all of the lighting. based on the video that I have seen of what Carowinds is doing this year, it’s best that they just didn’t have Winterfest at all instead of something like that. Lots of tacky decorations and very few lights.

It could be possible that these aren’t money makers as much to drive season pass sales At these parks that were not opened at all. KI and CP were open enough to satisfy season pass holders. If an event is just bringing the same passholders back it may not be profitable. But I do wish Kings Island would have done something because it’s my favorite time of year there

Kings Dominion just announced their Taste of the Season today, Nov 10. It’s running the month of December and appears it will be a smaller event than Carowinds based on the mentioned rides. Both kings dominion and Carowinds are under state capacity limitations. Kings Island has a higher allowed capacity so it’s surprising they did not do something

Did they remove the awful dip in the helix? That dip is the perfect example of how amateur Arrow’s track work can be.

This is an interesting fact. Out of the 16 mine trains built by arrow since 1966, all are still operating except Dexter Frebish Electric Roller Ride/Excalibur at Astroworld. And that coaster was removed to be replaced by an SLC, not because of ride age or mechanical issues. AE appears that it will have a VERY long life if the park chooses.

It would be a crying shame if Xcalibur/Imperator gets removed. It is one of the only models in the world. It's such a spectacular ride.

The park probably spent $0 on anything gory or death-related this year, since this is a fall festival event. For the ride graveyard, they probably just used what they had since any money spent was spent on more friendly decorations this year.

They have already started a spooky them in that section with (especially) Banshee and The Bat. I would make sense that would be the retheme. Most of all, that area needs less concrete and more shade.

The chain food is a huge reason the food in the park is so bad.

About 10%-20% of the people in the park either don't believe in covid or are uneducated on how to use a mask. People not wearing their mask at all, or below their nose, or even just on their chin can be seen constantly throughout the day. It just plain inconsideration to anyone else in the park and they put themselves at greater risk. The park is definitely not strict on the mask usage.

I had the misfortune of attending one of those days. It was a Saturday with temps in the 50s and NO tain. Around 2 PM they announced they were closing at 3. One of the poorest experiences ever at a park. But that’s what happens with cheap season passes. The parks don’t care if they upset the customers because they know they will come back with their pass. And if the park has mainly season pass holders in attendance, they Can close early because they already have the money they will get from them. Thsy one experience makes me now view Carowinds as being poorly managed like a Six Flags Park.

The chain has cash to get through the rest of the year. After December they have to borrow to start paying the bills. I don’t see them going deeper in debt until they have positive cash flow again.
