  1. Are they still playing that God awful Luke Bryan type pop country 5 song loop all over the left side of the park? They must not want to pay ascap fees this year.
  2. It’s a good ride but flawed. The re tracking has made it ride great. Racing coasters bare rare and we are lucky to have one. But it doesn’t race well. One lift hill runs slightly faster and one of the turnaround trim brakes slows the train more than the other. The wierd Y design after the third hill is also odd. You lose view of the other train. And then there’s the long flat run at then end where the final drop was removed. Not perfect but still a treasure for the park. Even on busy days the lines are short because of 4 trains. Thank goodness CF is renovating it instead of what they did to Thunder Road. They didn’t paint the new track this year. Will it end up ugly and gray as they replace wood?
  3. Whatever they planted doesn’t seem to be a very fast growing vine. This was planted four years ago.
  4. Giving credit where due today Thusrday June 3! The original forecast was for 60% to 90% chance of rain all day. I went to the park since I had the day off against my better judgement given the forecast. The forecast changed a couple times during the day. It stopped raining about 1 PM let’s start it again around 630. They close the rides at 630 and actually reopened them after 7 in the rain until closing. The park operated today as it has traditionally They even ran both sides of Racer until closing. The only closed rides were Viking Fiury and Dodgem which seem to have rain issues plus WW Canyon.
  5. This is the mindset they have given their costumers with their reputation for starting to closing early. Once a park starts doing that, everyone stays away on a rainy day not to risk wasting their time and travel expenses. It’s a bad cycle. It also leads to making the nice days miserably crowded as people wait until those days to go. Overall, it saves a few dollars when they shut down early. But in the long run it leads to less customer satisfaction and ultimately hurts business
  6. After seeing this live, it is absolutely excellent. The vocalists, dancers and band are all top tier talent. It’s great to see so many familiar performers in all 3 of those categories The dancers are very tightly choreographed during the entire show as well as the vocalists being choreographed. As I said before, that is what was missing from the recent bandstand shows. Also worth noting that there are both male and female dedicated dancers which I only recall before in Hot Rhythm Nights. It’s a great balance. It’s a strong playlist of fresh music for KI shows. This show is very re-watchable as there is a lot going on the whole time with no downtime.
  7. It appears that the elimination of 3 major shows this year in the Showplace, Festhaus and KI Theater were pure budget cutbacks more than COVID precautions. Given the bottlenecks that the Busker Jam stage and Area 72 party will cause on those already narrow midways.
  8. Yes both of those. Oktoberfest is the most neglected part of the park
  9. In 19 the music and lighting were not highly synchronized. Last year it was much better. It’s improving each year. The new fountains and lightning are capable of a spectacular show when the programmer has an ear for music.
  10. This show hasn’t had dancers except Hot Rhythm Nights at Carnivale and the year it was in the International Showplace in 2015. The addition of dancers takes it ti another level. It’s been a great show over the years with outstanding talent. But up to and including the year it was in the Showplace, the vocalists were very choreographed. Over the last several years that had slipped away, so happy to see choreography back in it. They have spent funds updating the bandstand but it is still a HORRIBLE venue in the hot sun, with no seating The sightlines are blocked by the crowd The performers and the audience deserve better
  11. Not a peep out of the park addressing last weekend. This could be taken as they are doing nothing to improve the situation. Bad move staying silent. Their mismanagement of the overcrowded park lead to this situation. They are mismanaging the aftermath if they make no publicized changes. Closing early doesn’t fix the problem of an over crowded park
  12. CF business model for the most part chooses to give away season passes at a low price, and cater mostly to a high thrill seeking market (which tends to be younger, have less disposable income, and more likely to have incidents like this). This has been brewing for a while. All it took was one overcrowd day. Another reason to not return back to the traditional Halloween Haunt. It’s a recipe for this kind of trouble as well.
  13. They work because they fill every empty seat (if the ride ops are efficient). Every seat utilized = shorter overall wait for everyone
  14. Single rider lines aren’t a special skip the line queue for those traveling solo. They are fit anyone willing to ride with a stranger. To maximize capacity and fill every empty seat. Every guest in the park has the right to use a single rider line.
  15. It just isn’t possible to have a “best day” when a park is this crowded. Or even a good day. It had to be miserable.
  16. I am bitter when I have traveled long distance to Cedar Fair parks MULTIPLE times to be greeted with early and even total closures. I probably won’t renew my Platinum pass again as it isn’t worth the risk to go to their parks other than locally.
  17. The ballon, bi planes and skydiving were the Firestone Air Show. They had it around 6 PM each day.
  18. Cedar Fair used to operate as advertised. They had a good reputation. But now they are becoming like C class Six Flags parks and Kennywood. If these parks keep operating like this they will have to depend 100% on locals. Nobody is going to waste their money traveling to a place that they don’t know will be open.
  19. There are NO pros. They are 100% offered out of greed and because people will pay for them. Great operations, single rider lines and free lockers/no carry on items would be far superior and give all guests a great experience with shorter waits. All paid fast passes just give some guests a better experience while making a worse experience for the majority. But B class theme parks like Cedar Fair and C class parks like Six Flags reallY don’t care about giving the best experience. Their business models depend on cheap Season passes and they know people will Come back because they got them with the cheap season pass, not because of a high quality experience.
  20. International Street - instrumental chill Rivertown. Instrumental bluegrass Oktoberfest - instrumental polka etc Coney - dance music and disco Area 72 - the current soundtrack is perfect. Happy Land cartoony music Action Zone is so generic there is no music that goes with it.
  21. This passholder preview days are supposedly a “benefit” of a season pass. There is absolutely no benefit whatsoever as they feature the longest lines of the season.
  22. They have sold off too much of the surrounding land that could’ve been developed for a resort. The park is now surrounded by the city. It’s landlocked except for the terrain areas of the valley.
  23. it looks absolutely dreadful. That was a full forest of trees and they removed all of them. The location behind fast food restaurants is equally as awful. Why not just park in the Walmart parking lot? This cannot be advertised as a luxury resort when it is nothing but a glorified parking lot.
  24. Kings Island is a superior overall park. It was designed to be a theme park, with themed sections. And a logical, easy to travel layout. The entrances of the 3 Taft-built parks are the most spectacular entrances of any theme parks worldwide, including Disney. IMO King's Island has a better coaster collection if you want to re-ride because so many coasters at CP were built to be extreme. I am located in between the 2 and almost always chose KI to attend because of its superior atmosphere. CP does have the lake going for it, but sooooo much of the park is generic and just pavement midways. Although KI is catching up to CP with the lack of shade these days with all of the tree removal! Now that being said, Paramount almost ruined KI forever with its destruction of the original theming and lackluster ride additions. Cedar Fair saved KI and the other Taft parks from that dark era.
  25. The company runs out of cash in six months. And they don’t have much income in cash in the meantime. There’s not going to be a lot of major ride investments for several years probably
