Remember this post?  I would say that original music is likely on it's way.

Well the only thing that might be wrong with that theory is the fact he specifically said Kings Island when several other Cedar Fair parks are doing the festival.

  2.  @FlightTimberHawk If you look at the reports from TEA they show that Kings Island attendance has been constantly growing and is by no means stagnant. Judging by how much is being invested into KI this year paints a very different picture then what your “inside” information is suggesting. A stagnant park doesn’t receive investment.

@Ben43065 While Fury looks great flying over the front gate at Carowinds, I think anything flying in front of our Royal Fountains and International Street will potentially block the majestic view too much.  I assume that is one reason the larger trees were replaced with small ones. All to give that impressive view of the store facade, fountains, Eiffel Tower and I-Street. The only way I would accept a Gate-Coaster, is if it done to match everything else.

Yeah I understand, I agree with you for the most part but I do personally think the actual front gate could use a renovation in my opinion.

I feel Kings Island knows what is best for their fans and enthusiasts. I also feel, as long as there is not a front gate coaster, we will still have one of the grandest entrances to an amusement park in the world.

I’d not be opposed to a front gate make over tbh, something like Carowinds front gate is a good example on how to do it somewhat elegantly. I think the new Hershey park front gate is also a pretty good way to redo the front gate.

As much as I want a giga, or anything, in 2020, I do agree that it is far from confirmed that we will be seeing a new coaster, especially since it is not KI’s turn in the chain to receive a new coaster, but this has me wondering who in the chain might end up receiving a new coaster in 2020 if KI does not

Because Cedar Fair really cares about spreading out who gets rollercoasters..... there was a 3 year gap between Banshee and Mystic Timbers so once could assume that maybe it indeed would be Kings Island “turn”. Any ways with there being a major roller coaster removal last year I’d say 2020 is a reasonable assumption as to when Kings Island gets a new rollercoaster.

Just out of curiosity, what exactly is the law and, also, the parks policy about on ride videos? I'm pretty sure the park's policy is none at all, but I wonder what the actual law says.

If the park says no cameras then it’s a misdemeanor I believe since you’re technically violating ride operators instructions.

Oh Sweet!  I guess I did not think about Carowinds opening earlier than KI.  I'll be anxious to hear how you like it.  I watched the CGI pov of it on YouTube a couple of weeks ago it looks awesome.

Carowinds recently uploaded a real POV on their YouTube channel Incase you haven’t checked it out yet.

Regarding the commencement, has their ever been a commencement filed involving a major company (B&M in this case) that referred to anything other than an installation of a new coaster? For example has work ever been done during the off season on Diamondback or Banshee that would require similar documentation?

My point being 1. It could potentially be related work on a current coaster or 2. Plans can change.

I’m not feeling 2020. Not sure why, but I feel like we would have seen more prep work.

A similar document was filled before Mystic Timbers that had Great Coasters International as a contractor.  Also the removal of Firehawk very well could have been the start of the construction process and is why we may have not seen prep work before seasons end.

You already know my thoughts on this topic haha. Intamin Blitz all day. Just wait and see what potter coaster does and Jurassic World coaster. Then we shall see!

Yep, Intamin Blitz is easily my favorite coaster model. While I haven’t ridden copperhead strike it looks like it’s going to be a pretty he a great ride. I’d be fine with either.

I would just say if you want to see these pics or if someone has pics to keep them private and only send them in direct messages and not posted on the boards. This keep people happy that do not want to see anything and others who do as well. I do not condone trespassing as well. I am not sure about the flights over the park as I am not sure if its legal or not?

Yes the flights are legal, Kings Island does not have a no fly zone and from what others have said on here the photos have come from a private company who does aerial surveys.

Mystic Timbers going back on the track today as well!

How dare you triple post! In all seriousness though have you been able to tell if any other coasters have had their trains lifted back onto the track.

  12. I remember someone previously mentioning a composer was working with Kings Island, I know it’s probably for the fire work show but I think it’d be pretty cool if they could compose something for the speakers on I Street to play instead of mediocre pop music from 2010. Considering they’re renovating I street I’d say there’s an ok chance this could happen.

I truly get both sides, especially wanting to know information myself, but why is it important do place the updates/secrets before the park divulges the information?

I don’t necessarily think it’s important to know they’re doing to international street, I think most of the questioning is why would legally obtained Ariel photos not be allowed when blueprints from a new rollercoaster would be allowed.

They are low capacity and of all the flying roller coasters that I have been on have been just meh.

Flying rollercoasters are probably my favorite coaster type behind hyper coaster. Flying coasters are also not low capacity (Assuming its double loading) Manta for example has 1,500 riders per hour while Banshee has a capacity of 1,650, not that much of a difference.

There's no way that top piece on Drop Tower is 51 ft above where the ride vehicle stops (if you guys are saying the dropping point is at 264 ft and the tower is 315 ft tall).

The drop refers to the free fall section and not the break section.  The drop section is around that 315 ft mark but it only falls for 264 ft and then it hits the breaks.

Question then. Why do I recall seeing somewhere (cant recall where or when) KI's announced as the Worlds Tallest Gyro Drop?

The ride is still technically taller then the one at KD, I’m not sure if it was the tallest in the world when it opened but it certainly is taller then KD’s
